Extraneous Noises on songs

Featured Replies

Kind of a weird thread I know. But I figured since there isn't one and I've always wondered what other songs have studio noises, then why not!

Example of what I'm talking about: If you listen closely to Help Is Round the Corner at 2:29/30 you can hear a car horn beep.

Does anyone else have any good ones? :)

What sounds like a submarine on the opening of "Amsterdam."

people talking in Strawberry Swing, The Goldrush, some stuff at the end of For You...

Exactly! Any idea what they're saying?

Harmless is a real good one for that at the beginning

yeah, I love that little addition. Easy to Please is packed with prog-rock effects: cars on a wet road, a couple arguing, audio from a television news show etc.

More subtle is of course the studio voices the left in the beginning of the second part of 42. You can also hear somebody say something inaudible right before the outro verse of we never change.

That was actually just a trick they did with the microphone, pretty cool.

It's Brian Eno clapping and saying "its a bit fast" in SS. Goldrush is just them fooling around, the end of for you is just Chris saying 'for you' through a distorted mic setting.

In the beginning of Strawberry Swing, Chris says "Hi Chuck", but mistakenly so, as it was Mike he was saying HI to.:P

I thought it was Chris, but either the band or the oracle confirmed it was brian so...

I know it was Brian in Goldrush.

no, i thought there was some sort of traffic-y sounding noise at the very end of For You, like, after the music stops.

...maybe it was another song i was thinking of. :\

Chris dedicates a song to me at the beginning of a live playing of Trouble :) I kid you not!

I JUST listened to the part in We Never Change. How in the HELL did you hear that!!! It's at 3:46 in the left ear. The interview with Niki the other day she mentioned the wet mic out on the street during Easy to Please. and someone says 'Alright' at the very start of For You, might be Chris.

The beggining of Strawberry Swing might be Chris counting off and I think it's Johnny saying 'It's a bit fast'.

And it's obviously Chris counting off at the beginning of Reign of Love. I know because I had to edit it out when I played it during my wedding :D

YES!

The random moo from AROBTTH :dozey:

 do you have a video of it or anything?

I'm 99% sure he says 'This is Kevin McCane'. I asked the Oracle about it (she answered it once or twice I believe). I found the video on youtube COMPLETELY by accident and it absolutely floored me when I heard it. I do have the audio file of it. Not sure how to upload songs to a forum though

YES!

Where at in the song???

EDIT: Nevermind! I heard it! I had always heard that at 3:09 and thought it was just a guitar noise

I always felt it was like a cow burning, considering the lyrics and all. :laugh3:

Then there's the little chime in Clocks at the end of "closing walls and ticking clocks"

well you just described help is around the corner....

i love the piano-chair-squeking in amsterdam, for you, and everythings not lost.

there are others.. but i cant think of any at the moment.

There are always extraneous noises on Lady GaGa's songs. They're her singing parts.
