Vote Chris For "Rock Star Of The Decade"

Featured Replies

He's down to 7.09. What jealous Green Day uneducated prickfans are voting him 1 star? Gerard Way 2nd?! Sad sad state of affairs.

if coldplay lose to both them, may they should try a pop punk album for the 5th, imagine a coldplay a la avril lavigne

anyways are they on tour or something now (MCR and Green Day), may that's why they are having so many votes.

i subscribe that, do vote people!!

The way I see it, My Chem has not done anything relatively big or noticed since 2005 or 2006. The proper emo kids are already over them. NEXT.

Green Day could get it for their large 2004 hit, but they've partially missed with their new one. But you can't deny some of Billie Joe's antics on stage can be outrageous.

Chris... ain't rock star material in the sense of actually being a rock star. A noteworthy nominee, but not the best.

(Bono getting it would be totally lame tho)

They're just as obsessed with Green Day or MCR as you guys are with Coldplay... :wtf:

The truth

Maybe so, but they will never be as cool. :smug:

The hilarious rebuttal that I have to just say (pay attention to the main title)

I just voted for Chris as "Rockstar of the Decade" - he is currently at no. 4 with a current ranking of 6,78.

I also voted for Clocks of Song of the Decade - it is out of top 20 with a current rating of 5,42. I guess that it is around position 22, at least among 25.

SO VOTE, VOTE and once again VOTE!

:surprised:

what is your definition of 'rock star'?

what is your definition of 'rock star'?

Personally I don't care to have my own personal definition, but rock star in general is meant to mean someone who is successful in their rock genre/subgenre

This is different however because it is rock star of the decade, aka who is the best most notable rock star of 2000-2009, therefore the definition expands to cover stage performance, behavior and attitudes etc. Although it's not the whole binge-drinking whatnot affair it used to be, it's still not a soft gentle mellow act, like Chris.

"There's nothing more boring than a rock'n'roll star. Someone who has been on the road for 10 years, expecting attention wherever he goes, drinking himself stupid, who is obnoxious, incoherent, uncreative, and has a massive ego. There's nothing more pointless."

If you quoted that in reply to my post your quote is wasted.

With the whole rock star definition though, I think there's a point where you can't be too soft or boring either. Chris just doesn't fit what NME would consider THE rock star of the decade I think, that's why I'm not voting on him. Noteworthy, but not THE one.

when I think of Rock Stars, I think of Bon Jovi and that kinda shit.

I refuse to vote on this poll

I feel sorry, but for me he seems rather a pop star now ... He's no more "the Chris that I knew" at the beginnings ... - even if deep inside of me, I hope this is just because of the media impact! ... I really do!

;)

ah, ok.

i can understand not voting for him, anyway, even he wouldn't agree with it. :P

they should have a 'limestone' star of the decade :wacky:

If Gerard Way wins this then I think even NME will just forget the whole thing happened!

When I voted for Chris earlier today, he was in position 4 with current rating of 6,60. I just voted for him again and now he is in third place with a current rating of 6,80, whereas Muse's Matt Bellamy is now in position 4 with current rating of 6,77.

So VOTE.

Wtf? Why is Gerard Way #1? :\ Anyway, I've voted for Chris now :)

Ach I don't care any more. I don't want Chris Martin to be aligned with BIlly Joe Armstrong and that girl band's lead singer Gerard Way.
