I do count them as poets! Some of them. I, for example, write poems, but they're intended to end up as lyrics for a song. Still I see them as poems. I'm not confident enough to write a poem as such, but if it's surrounded by music it's fine, because people don't pay attention exclusively to the words. Does that make any sense?
