COLDPLAYING'S ALBUMS OF THE DECADE! VOTING CLOSED

Featured Replies

Yeah, but even now it's hard to know whether or not to include 2009 albums because they've had way less time to prove themselves. At least, I really had trouble with 2009, even though it was a really good year.

^yeah, maybe in 2015 we'll have to redo the 2000s poll :P

My top albums were judged by how often I listen to them and still love them.

The 21st century is the current century of the Christian Era or Common Era in accordance with the Gregorian calendar. It began on January 1, 2001.

I guess we should compile another decade list in a year then. :P

Saying the decade started a year later is very smart ass though.

The 21st century is the current century of the Christian Era or Common Era in accordance with the Gregorian calendar. It began on January 1, 2001.

The 2000s was the decade that started on January 1, 2000 and ended on December 31, 2009. It was the decade in which the 21st century and 3rd millennium began.

For me the 1990s meant 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999

For me the 2000s meant 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009

For me the 2010s mean 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019

For me the 2020s...I think you get the point.

^same here.

I can't consider the 90's to have finished w/ 2000... to me it doesn't make any sense

It would mean I was born in the 80s. :blank:

The sad thing about this never ending millennium fighting is that when the calandar was changed back in the year one or so, the concept of "zero" hadn't actually been invented yet, so of course there wouldn't have been a year zero.

^^ Está bien, chico. :)

The suspense is killing me. :D

(I can do foreign languages too! :cheesy:)

Absolutely love that top 20. brilliant selection of songs. my only issue would be with Brothersport, top notch song but personally dont feel that its top 20 of the decade quality. great to see some white stripes love too.

Great list. I would have a lot of those songs in my list as well. PRobably would have chosen Jesus Etc. for Wilco.

So... have you figured out why I didn't volunteer to do this one yet? Hope it's going well.

^That's not very late. Take your time to do it right. And remember to take breaks- I'm bad at that part. Think of it this way, it takes me a mind numbing amount of time to get a yearly list compiled. Most of my longest lists are about the length of your shortest lists. Your longest lists are five times that length. So it's going to be a lot of work. I have no idea how Nik put his countdowns together so fast, but I think he was just plain better at spreadsheets than most of us mortals. The sweetest part if you used a spreadsheet is when everything is entered in, and you click a few buttons to add up the points and then sort the albums. Click click, there's number one. It's all worth it then.

If you like, I can send you my spreadsheet from last year if you want to see how I usually arrange everything- It sounds like your way may not be the most efficient.

This may have been asked before, but what ranking system are you using?

I'm guessing you prefer My Girls? I love that song too, but I always preferred Brother Sport even when I first heard that album. Also, I think I kind of got a little sick of the My Girls hype.
