he's halking something that brought him international fame! hes career his money his wife n kids

he wrote yellow with that guitar, the guitar, the song that brought them to where they are today

 

i know its going to a charity for kids but my god arent they far and detached from their roots enough as is?

 

Viva la Vida sounded so foreign. COMPLETELY AMAZING RECORD dont get me wrong, but it wasnt the Coldplay i listened to at midnight on a park bench when i was 13.... not the coldplay i found when i was 11. it was so not them...

even my grandpas comfy leather chair is gone. his living room layout is different

it will never look the same as the night before i saw coldplay in Mountain View

Majority of the older stuff has probably been stored in a big room for the past few years. It's better to auction it now and get loads of money,

just incause they do something so stupid or horrible in a few years time ( for reasons i don't know :shrug: )

and i agree with both sides, me being the pack rat i am would be able to sell any of that stuff if i were them and they were sad that they were selling it! but its for such a good cause and honestly for the most part the people that are buying this stuff are going to be appreciate everything so much! like i know if i got ANYTHING i would be so amazed every second a looked at it! like the guitars, they have been EVERYWHERE with the boys, on stage with them everywhere traveled around the world and been played by our boys!! and like the jackets! theyy have worn those to every show and like the Grammies like chris has hugged jay-z in that jacket! like how amazing is that!! lol sorry i just think its so cool!... ill shut up now.

They are smart guys. They know that offering things like "Chris' first guitar" is going to raise more money. Is it his first EVER guitar... of course not! But it probably is the first one he played in Coldplay, and he probably never uses it now - so why not get rid of it to some rich person who would never just donate 7grand he doesn't need to a kids chairty, unless he was getting something in return... ultimately, the band get "closure" on their first decade and a really worthwhile cause gets an amazing injection of funds - where's the harm?

Yes! To be honest, only a globe can be an indeed dear thing for them. Stuff is actually pretty old... and, for example, they don’t sell favourite Chris’s piano, they don’t sell ALL guitars from viva la vida era, they don’t sell even a few of Grammies!

So, their favourite instruments and things remain with them!:smug:

But thats not really the point of this whole thing, its not like they just throwing it all out cause they don't want it anymore, they selling it for a great cause that they believe in. and whose to say that the people with the most money aren't going to appreciate it? the people with the most money could deserve it just as much as me and you! your right money is not judge of character so you can't say that someone who has the money to spend on this doesn't love the boys as much as you and me!
