Coldplay dont sell your souls!!!!

Featured Replies

i know

but like whos to say the people who get it would apreciate it

its going to the person with the most money not the person who deserves it the most, and money is NO judge of charecter, like i said before, its really more just the first ever guitar.... and ok maybe the jackets that bug me

and their not even finished with the Viva tour either

it makes me feel like all the people who are going to see the 2010 Viva tour in latin/south america are just the lagging part of something they want to get on and be done with

well, the idea is that they give the fans a chance to own something that means so much to them, even though that's probably not going to be the way it actually works out.

plus, as previously said by many others, the money's going to charity. if it wasn't, then i would say you'd have more of an argument.

Rude and totally unnecessary on this message board.

The person was just expressing a concern. I too was shocked that Chris was selling his FIRST guitar that would probably go to some undeserving rich fat cat. At least it's going to a good cause...but that guitar should not have gone. That guitar produced Yellow.

Viva was different, but every band evolves. Change is a part of life, bud. NO ONE likes it. But I know how you feel. I grew up with Parachutes and a rush of blood to the head as well. But I am proud of Coldplay and I rather have them evolve than stay the same. Evolution is the mark of a good band.

Aw, you poor thing. So Coldplay's auction and their change into a new era/direction is coinciding with your change? Well, I am sure you will adjust. Things always work out! I promise you, it will get better. I've been in your situation before.:)

Don't really know why people make a big deal about that Chris is selling his "first" guitar? Do you think Chris was looking at it every day thinking wow, I am so great, I wrote yellow on this guitar? Dont' think so. Most likely this guitar was in storage the last couple of years.

And believe me nothing better for your soul and mind as to decluster and get rid of old stuff. It totally clears your mind.

Change is good, nothing worst that things are standing still and always the same.

P.

while i may sympathize with your concerns starter of this thread, i've got to say i think you've taken it a bit too far and are assuming their own feelings based on your own.

like someone said, whose to say all of this stuff means a whole lot to them. of course we know some stuff does, but i'm sure if it was anything truly truly BIG they will have held onto it. just like other people have stated.

and once more, this is for charity. its not like a garage sale for their own pockets. (one - that'd be fucked up to profit even more on your fans, two - then it wouldn't make sense to sell stuff they liked in the first place). they are giving this money to a cause they believe in.

i have never found coldplay's evolution alarming or too great myself (i have in fact found it quite perfect based on my own evolution), but i can understand if you might long for different days. but there will always be bands making parachutes era type music. just go out and find them. although i'm sure you have.

in the end this whole clearance sale is just a further indication of how grand a band coldplay is. they truly are doing a great thing here, and it'd be an awful shame to let object attachments to hinder the improvement of others lives. these are objects which have been accorded meaning. the meaning doesn't leave when the object does. just keep it within your own mind and heart now.

perhaps they were just having a bad day, ill cut thenm some slack

unfortunately, no.

that's just the way the people in the Lounge are.

Well... Chris's first guitar is probably old and crappy anyway :P

That's the spirit! :D

boohoo

I don't like this auction either, honestly. And no, not just because I can't get anything.

It's not fair that they have to sell everything so important to them.

Honestly, if I did win Chris's first guitar, I'd ship it back to him.

It's stupid.

no one's forcing them, it was their idea.

I think it's good of them that they can let go of those things. It's hard but it will create new atmosphere and space in their minds.

They will keep things they really need and they want to sell it. It's their own choice.

I think it might be harder for the fans to let go of those things than for the band

yeah..what she said.

The instruments aren't what make the band great

It's not like if they sell Chris's first guitar or Jonny's Viva guitar they won't be good anymore.

haha how sad would it be if it got lost in the mail

and someone who had no idea who they were wrote a song on it and got famous and chris saw them on tv and was like "hey thats my guitar" lol

Ooh, well done, I didn't realise it was backwards - I just glanced at it, saw I couldn't read it and figured it was just a language I don't speak

Ha, it's like the Talk video :)
