January 3, 201016 yr I must admit however that I was dissapointed by Frenger's by Mew. I still don't really get Mew, but what Is wierd is that I really like their song 'The Zookeepers Boy', I love it, but I haven't found any other Mew song I really like which is a shame :( Well, every album seems to be a different style, and they have 4 more. Maybe you'll find more you like? :P

They're considered "Contemporary Bluegrass" but it's not like annoying bluegrass, and most of their songs are more "folksy (?)" I guess. I think you should give them a listen, they've been one of my favorite bands for a long time. I was blow away, really, I mean I've heard odd bits of Beck's music before but havn't really took much notice I just instantly thought that Beck wasn't my type of music.....then I listened to Guero! Man, I just love the style! BIRD- I have heard some of his music before, and I enjoyed this album, not as much as I enjoyed Beck's album though. I think if I listened to this more than I would enjoy it some more, I will have to hear it some more :)
January 5, 201016 yr RE: Andrew Bird- Noble Beast is his latest, and though I haven't actually heard that one yet, I did hear from a friend who's a HUGE fan that it's his most mellow of the bunch. I really like Armchair Apocrypha. :) Can't wait to hear what you think about Jeff Buckley :heart:

January 5, 201016 yr Author Jeff Buckley- Grace WOW! WOW! WOW! WOW! WOW!, Before this album all I had ever heard of Jeff's was his version of 'Hallelujah' which I thought was fantastic, but this album is full of much better gems. His voice is so unique, and I definetely want to hear more of his music. It actually made me feel quite emotional listening to this album thinking about his untimely death. Very sad.
January 6, 201016 yr Call me crazy but.....I have thought of the most awesome new years resolution! TO LISTEN TO MORE MUSIC! I have decided I want to listen to ONE album everyday of 2010 which I haven't heard before. There may be days when I can't do it, and I will note that in this thread, but I think this will be ALOT of fun. I'm creating this thread early so I can get albums for the first few weeks of the new year or something like that so I would love lots of reccomendations. Radiohead - OK Computer - Widely regarded as the greatest of all time. An amazing, deep piece of art. Queen - A Night at the Opera - Queen at their bombastic best. Memory Tapes - Seek Magic - A great little album I picked up recently, well worth a listen on the bus or train. Sarah Blasko - The Overture and the Underscore - Debut Album from one of Australia's finest female artists (Check our her other two albums as well) Muse - Absolution - One of the best albums of the 2000's The Streets - A Grand Don't Come for Free - Listen to it start to finish, as that is how it needs to be heard, a great choice for something like what you're doing! Vampire Weekend - Vampire Weekend Bloc Party - Silent Alarm The New Pornographers - Twin Cinema There's about a week's worth to keep you going! how long do you think you will last? Also, maybe try mixing up your styles a bit - there's been a lot of rock/alternative so far... time to broaden your horizons, Simon :)
