I forgot to say, we don't have itunes music store (just apps store) here, so no one buys digital music

Wow! I did not know that... I just figured Itunes was everywhere now.

I download, using Torrent. I have a few physical copies of albums too, those which I care about the most.

I discover new music mostly thanks to people from this forum. Sometimes I first check out a few songs on YouTube or MySpace but I usually download albums right away.

I do both, but I do prefer to have albums in physical form, its just that round where I live there are no music stores anymore just supermarkets that sell a small selection of music and not a very good selection either, so if I buy the physical albums I tend to buy online, and with the british postal service like it is these days (its not a service anymore, its a joke) I sometime buy digital.

Drenched in sweet and sour sauce :wacky:

Am I the only one here who doesnt really listen to music? Yeah probably

Seriously though, I never even put anything on in the background. In the car I'll try and find talk radio. I know a few instruments, I have been deeply into music, but that passion has absolutely faded.

If I feel I need to put a CD on in the car, I never listen past the first chorus, its like "Oh here we go again" *Skip*

I'm the opposite, I never really listened to or was interested in music at all until a couple years ago...

That makes me feel slightly less freakish. I hate when people ask me what music I like, I really dont have a clue anymore.

I hated it when people asked me that question too... I also learned never to say that I don't listen to music. :blank:

Haha yes Ive learned that lesson a few times. People are like WTF?!?! :freak:

Joke aside, I really do understand. I recognize myself with the skipping thing, I found it really hard before to listen to whole songs. I don't know how but that problem just disappeared.

But to be honest, I still hate it when people ask me that question. :freak:

I usually become sick of whatever I've been listening to a lot, so my interest will probably fade eventually.

Why don't you try to discover some new music then? Of course you're going to get tired if you listen to the same music over and over again...

I do... and whenever I listen to new music, I can't stand what I had been listening to before. :blank:

Haha, yes same goes for me, I only listen to about 5 % of the music I have at a time. It's still satisfying though to sometimes put on some music you haven't listened to in a while. :nice:

I don't mean new as in more recent, I just mean something I hadn't been listening to before....

I buy CDs whenever possible, otherwise I download.

I stream music on Grooveshark, and then if I really like it I'll either download single songs off of itunes or (preferably) buy the CD (and sometimes vinyl).

1. Download

2. Go to gig - if possible

3. Buy album (preferably at gig, otherwise at a local cd store or Amazon)

I'd rather go to one gig than buy 10 albums. It's just so much better! Even though I download way too much, I manage to buy about 1 in 9 cds physically. That means I've got over a hundred at the moment. I never buy digital music, though (that's what downloading is for :sweatdrop:).

New music: podcasts, tv shows, Last fm

  • 1 year later...

i stream music (80%), if i really like it i download it (15%), if i think the artistist is worth it (do most of the work or is 'free' of big label companies) i buy the physical cd to support them (5%).

I like to have the CD, so i buy them. :nice:

I only buy songs on Itunes if i can't get it anywhere else.

I consume music with chips

Lots and lots of chips with tomato sauce, yum yum

I do all 3, buy CDs, buy albums from Amazon MP3 & download illegally.

Physical albums and Spotify. :shy:
