Lost: Season 6 (The Finale) [OFFICIAL THREAD]

my dvr cut off the very last bit... I just saw Locke (in the AR) wheeling across the street. Des hits him? On purpose or accidentally?

Gloaming, I agree completely about the look Jack gave Locke. and Locke specifically addressed him only (aside from Hurley). Looks like it's shaping up to be Jack v. Locke?

And what Michael said about not being able to pass on... do you think maybe that's why Hurley hasn't seen Libby's ghost? She was able to pass on- she didn't have anything to atone for...?

I can't imagine that Desmond's trip down the well would be the end of him on the island... I'm anxious to know what happens to him!

desmond hit him on purpose... after he hit him he drove away and the look on the face showed it was intentional.

I guess she did pass on then... but even so it doesn't make sense because say the reason why Michael didnt pass on was due to him killing libby. Then why was Hurley able to see charlie, anna lucia and others on and off the island?

I kind of have a theory. So we know that the smoke monster cannot get past sonar field. Well since they brought up the compass with the electromagnetic field, what if it turns out that they somehow get a huge electromagnetic field to happen and encompass the island that would thus make it impossible for locke to leave. just an idea I had.

^that's a good theory. Unfortunately, that makes me worry that Desmond will be the one to have to "catch" smokey, for lack of a better word, since he's seemingly immune to the electromagnetic energy. I wonder if Widmore had something along those lines in mind when he told Desmond he'd have to make a sacrifice.

and yeah, that's true about Hurley seeing Charlie, etc. hmmm...

Oh, and I just remember the random boy in the jungle that MIB keeps seeing... it must be Jacob, right? "re-born" somehow?

what you said makes total sense! Widmore has that machine probably to get rid of smokey and since Desmond is immune he will have to make that sacrifice.

that's what I was thinking too, that it was Jacob reborn, or perhaps it was someone in MIB's past.

I guess we'll find it all out in the Jacob/MIB episode

I CAN'T WAIT TO WATCH THE LATEST EPISODE. :bigcry:

Wow what an episode, such unexpected moments in just on episode. The lady (forgot her name) blowing with dynamite, Desmond being pushed into the well and Desmond running over Locke. Hope next week's episode tops this.

oh god just when I thought i was getting a handle on this i am confused again!

Re: desmond running over JL. At first I thought that maybe Des did it because they all need some kind of near death experience (ie almost downing in the bay for a 2nd time, or being run over by a benz) (or love, if they had it on the island) in order to remember the island....BUT desmon's face looked so nasty and vengeful that I think he was really trying to hurt JL (and not just reunite him with Jack @the hospital like i originally thought) sorry if that is confusing.

secondly, how creepy and unsettling was it that they were playing that willy wonka song at high speed in the preview for next week - it really gave me the willies.

agreed that a big John Locke/Jack Shepherd showdown might be on the way. To be honest I haven't thought much about Jack at all this year - he has been super boring! ha!

I'm happy that Hurley remembered Libby, but for some reason I remember thinking that Libby was evil right before she died....?!?!?!

NOOOO!! EVIL EVIL STUPID FAKE LOCKE PERSON!! DON'T THROW DESMOND IN WELLS!

Bah, Desmond better not be dead or crippled or anything else that would prevent him from being in the last few episodes. I'm kind of hoping Desmond will seriously hurt fake Locke very very soon. Grr.

And Sawyer needs to get off his lazy ass and do something useful. :whip:

I can't remember a time Jack was interesting. Ha. He's been extra boring this season so I don't mind much that they cut back on his screentime. But a Jack/fake Locke showdown might be interesting. (not as interesting as Desmond owning fake Locke though)

I guess I'm gonna watch the preview now. I never do that, but this one seems really interesting. Or maybe I won't. Hm. :/

Gonna rewatch S6 this weekend. :cheesy:

I know, right? :disappointed: That number is getting smaller way too quickly.
Blegh, I need to find that new show that is (at least nearly) as awesome as Lost. It doesn't exist. :disappointed:

I think Des will be fine. Locke said that well was dug on top of an electromagnetic pocket and we already know Desmond reacts strangely to them.

It's interesting though. I think smokey wants people to be afraid of him. Like he likes it or needs it. He was so enraged when Desmond wasn't. Which kind of goes back to the beginning, really. When the monster was a strange deadly thing far away that represented fear...

I may sound like a broken record here, but have you ever watched "The Prisoner"? The one with Patrick McGoohan? It's much shorter and set in the 60's, but every bit as clever and awesome.

whats with the whole purgatory ghosts? you die and get trapped on the island & can't escape except for libby?

yeah it is weird that she's an exception, as well as shannon. I wonder what considers someone to be an exception to not showing up.

Both Libby and Shannon haven't killed anyone, that could be a reason.

good point. Charlie, Anna Lucia, Michael all killed someone. good thinking!

Is it just me, or was Richard being a little bit...bitchy this past episode? I mean, I love him and all (his eyelashes complete my life), but I was getting a bit annoyed.

I guess he's just stressed out about Flocke leaving the island. I just hope he doesn't try to blow himself up again. Oh, Ricardo.

but there's also Jack's Dad. He was dead and he was walking round the island.

I do agree with this, and Richard's my favorite character.

He's been so jacked up on something, whether it's caffiene, adrenaline or pot, I do not know.

But he needs to just calm down and go back to being the mystery man that I love. :charming:

Wow! I've just seen the episode!

And the guy who plays Hurley says that the next episode is a turning point which will see LOST racing to an exciting, shocking finale!

It's hotting up!

:bomb:

He does need a chill pill, doesn't he?

Remember way back when he was all like, "It points north, John" ? I miss that sense of humor. :P

but there's also Jack's Dad. He was dead and he was walking round the island.

But was that really Jack's dad, or was it Smokey masquerading as him? I can't remember... yes... I think that actually makes sense that it's *NOT* actually Christian. Remember, we saw Claire with "Christian" at one point... and then this season she ended up with Flocke. So, I *think* this whole time it's been Smokey in the guise of Christian. That's my theory, but I'm probably completely forgetting/missing something! ;)

I agree Christian was actually the smoke monster. Real Christian was dead afterall, as is real John Locke. My sis and I have been convinced Christian was actually the SM for some time now.

We also think Sayid is on the bad side now unfortunately. But I think when he "died" he came back as a bad guy. Oddly enough, I trust Widmore's crew now, though I could be totally wrong.

And yeah, the preview with the Willy Wonka song. It's so trippy and bizarre.

:P, Agreed!

And I miss the mysteriousness... now that we know so much about him he's not as... cool. :uhoh:

By the way, this next episode will be on on my birthday. :cheesy: I hope it's a good one! :D

What I don't understand is why the Smoke Monster would change from Christian to Locke?

Maybe because the SM would want to take the form of someone who more people would listen to (like Locke). And maybe the SM never wanted people to discover that he actually was not Locke.

Also, don't forget that Christian's coffin was empty when Jack found it after they crashed. :uhoh:
