Got my mixtape today! So excited. Thank you to whoever had me as a partner. I've listened to snippets mostly of every song. Love track 6 :D very different music from what I usually listen to so it was a nice change. Lots of songs I don't recognize. Thanks for the effort. I'll write a proper review tomorrow after I give my mix the proper listening and attention it deserves. I really appreciate it. Thank you so much.

Here we go!

Song 1: Not too bad. Good instrumentals, but not crazy about the vocalist. Wonder what band this is; they've probably got a lot of stuff I'll like!

2: Postal Service :D haven't listened to them in a while. A few summers back, I was a huge PS listener but dialed it back as Deathcab rose. Good song.

3: Couldn't get into this one. Too plain/folk-like/indie for me. I think I've heard this before? Not sure where.

4: Maybe my favorite song on the whole CD. Never heard anything from these guys before! Cool intro, good vocals and strong lyrics. Definitely worth checking out.

5: I'm beginning to think the person who made my mixtape has excellent taste in music and appreciates good instrumental work. Knowing artists that I'm into, they have been able to mostly avoid stuff I've heard (which is a lot) and still keep it in the wide ranges I like. Vocals were maybe a little airy/mopey for me, but otherwise still a strong offering.

6. "You have to set yourself on fire" an interesting little intro to say the least. Gets into great opening instrument work when smooth vocals enter. Very happy song with quite a few different sounds going on. Works well!

7. Cool background work, but the vocals are awesome! Love her sound; really want to know who this is. Definitely the best lyrical track on the CD.

8. Imogen Heap-Hide and Seek! I haven't heard the non-Tiesto remix (which I LOVE) in a really long time. She has great vocals and the song is quite different from what most are used to. She has a lot of other great songs and is worth a check out. Thanks for reminding me of the original :)

9. Starlight-Muse. One of my more favorite Muse songs, so much so that I've actually inserted it into my NHL10 on my PS3's music list. I hear it in the menus so I'm growing a little weary of it but it's still a great song.

10. No Sunlight-Death Cab for Cutie. Catchy song but not my favorite from Narrow Stairs (which is an amazingly good album). Excellent choice for the middle of the CD though!

11. Where the Story Ends-The Fray. Another of my favorite bands, and one of my favorite songs from them! This, Look After You, and Vienna are three songs I could listen to on an endless loop. Brought a smile to my face :)

12. Human-The Killers. Been a huge huge fan of them ever since I got Hot Fuzz a little after it came out and completely memorized the CD. Thought Sam's Town was a little weak, and that their newest album was the weakest so far. Human was certainly the bright point of the album though, and it's a shame it'll be remembered as part of it IMO. Good dance-y song!

13. Treasure Hunt-Howling Bells. One of the two songs I've listened to by them, and forgot how much I liked her vocals. I'm going to resume my quest to find more from Howling Bells!

14. Kiss With a First-Florence+The Machine. This is one of those songs you know you've heard at a party or something and couldn't for the life of you remember what it is and it kills you! Love this song; much better than the third song but still kind of in the same genre.

15. I Feel It All-Feist. Thought this sounded a little like Feist :D I take back everything I said before this track: THIS is my favorite song from the CD. I've listened to it a lot already and it's made its way onto my daily walking huge playlist, quite an honor.

16. Flightless Bird, American Mouth-Iron & Wine. I've Viennese Waltzed to this song! Heard it when a friend sent it to me. I later found out it was on the Twilight Soundtrack (promptly pounding my friend) but it's still a great song. Very pretty and fun to VWaltz to!

17. No clue who this one is. Cool instrument work, but not all that crazy about the vocals but the lyrics are good. Catchy.

18. Somewhere Only We Know-Keane. CLASSIC song, been used in tons of great scenes for years. Despite how much I've heard it, I always find it hard to skip over. One of those songs that just make you say, "WOW." Must listen!

19. Young Folks-Peter, Bjorn and John. I'm beginning to sense that the person who made my tape is a big fan of songs they've heard on TV and in movies :p Pretty cool song. Takes a little while to hit the vocals, but they back up the interesting intro and are really unique.

20. Fell in Love Without You-Motion City Soundtrack. Just recently started listening to MCS (actually heard their albums on the drive back to college for this semester) and I'm impressed. Vocals are much better than bands of the same type and the slightly repetitive lyrics still work really well. Great ending song!

Thanks so much to my mixtape maker! You added quite a few new songs to my collection and gave me more artists to check out, which was more than I had hoped for.

I know what your number 6 is and I love that song!:smug2:

that looks like a really good mix.

I'm still working on my review :S hard to find time to do it

didnt get mine yet...T.T

well, yeah didnt get mine yet..

Got mine yesterday evening. No Muse and some beautiful songs (I'm listening the last one currently) Thank You to my mixtape maker.

I have to go to work so I would write my review tonight.

Thanks so much to my mixtape maker! You added quite a few new songs to my collection and gave me more artists to check out, which was more than I had hoped for.

I'm glad you liked it :D You're right -- I do discover a lot of music through movies and tv. Whenever I'm watching something and I like the song, I'll look it up and usually find that it's an artist I can really start to love.

Without further adieu, here is the tracklisting:

1) Special - Mew

I like the instrumentals too. And at first I was a little iffy about the vocals, but I found that they really grew on me.

2) We Will Become Silhouettes - The Postal Service

I am totally in love with TPS. This is one of my favourites from them.

3) Tire Swing - Kimya Dawson

You're right, it is pretty folk/indie. And if you've seen the movie Juno, then that's where you've heard it before :) Great soundtrack.

4) Farewell to the Fairground - White Lies

I'm glad you liked it! I recently started listening to White Lies and instantly fell in love with them. Definitely check out more of their stuff if you liked this. This iss my favourite from them, and I'd also recommend Unfinished Business and To Lose My Life.

5) Ferreting - Apparatjik

This is my second most played song on my iTunes :D I am obsessed with it. I live and breathe this song! If you don't recognize the band name, it is a side project of Guy Berryman's along with Jonas Bjerre (from Mew...you might recognize his voice from the first track :P) and Magne Furuholmen (A-ha) and Martin Terefe.

6) Your Ex-Lover Is Dead - Stars

Stars is a Canadian band; they're wonderful. I would definitely recommend you listen to more of their music! The vocals are gorgeous and the instrumental just flows so beautifully. Ahhh I love this song

7) Back In Your Head - Tegan and Sara

I agree with what you said. The background music is really cool, and the vocals are fantastic. They have a very unique sound. Again, another Canadian band!

8) Hide and Seek - Imogen Heap

You guessed it! Beautiful song, beautiful lyrics.

9) Starlight - Muse

I really didn't know what you listened to, so I figured I'd include some Muse. Because even if you'd heard it before, it is an awesome song.

10) No Sunlight - Death Cab For Cutie

You knew this one too :P We seem to listen to lots of the same bands. I love this song. Ben Gibbard has a wonderful voice.

11) Where The Story Ends - The Fray

I went through an obsession with this song last year. The piano sounds amazing! I love a good piano part :)

12) Human - The Killers

I had a feeling that you would have heard this one, but I felt that I had to include it because, well, it's awesome.

13) Treasure Hunt - Howling Bells

I saw Howling Bells when they opened for Coldplay in Winnipeg. Ever since I have been listening to and lovning them. Juanita's voice is incredible.

14) Kiss With a First - Florence+The Machine

This song is just so catchy! I got it for free off of iTunes a few weeks ago and thought it would be a good one for the mix.

15) I Feel It All - Feist

I'm so happy you liked it! I knew I wanted to include some Feist, but I was torn over what song to include. I didn't want to do something totally unknown, but I didn't really want to do 1234 either! So after much thinking on my part, I finally decided on this. I'm glad I made the right choice.

16) Flightless Bird, American Mouth - Iron & Wine

Yes, this is from Twilight. :shame: I really don't like Twilight anymore, but I used to love the books. So when the movie came out I checked it out, hated it, but this song really caught my attention. Anyway that's my little story but I'm glad that such a terrible movie at least led to me discovering this gorgeous song.

17) Look Up - Oppenheimer

Great song, great band. Another awesome song from them is Breakfast in NYC, and I'd also suggest Saturday Looks Bad To Me.

18) Somewhere Only We Know - Keane

Another very popular song, and again I wasn't sure if you would have heard any Keane before so I figured I'd include this one because it's so great.

19) Young Folks - Peter Bjorn and John

This song is EVERYWHERE now! I first heard it a couple years ago on Grey's Anatomy, and now it's everywhere I look :) So catchy.

20) Fell In Love Without You (Acoustic) - Motion City Soundtrack

I love this song. I like the acoustic version much better than the original song, too. And I agree, the vocals are really good.

Here's my review:

Track 01. Opening the mix with a very nice (what sounds like cello) piece. It sounds a bit bittersweet. At times feeling sorrow and sadness, but at the same time at points being uplifting. I could picture this being part of a movie score. I like how in the middle the pace picks up and creates more tension. Then it eases out at the end.

Track 04. The song starts with with a nice clean guitar riff, and an 80's feeling beat. This song is very upbeat and extremely catchy. The vocals sort of remind me of The Killers (though I haven't really listened to them, so i might be entirely wrong :P). Although the song has an 80's feel it still feels somewhat modern. The song seems like it would be very danceable and makes you want to move along with the beat.

Track 05. (titled Quiet). It's a lullaby feeling song. the vocals are slightly reminiscent of Wayne from the Flaming Lips.

Track 06. A really great way to transition into this song. Breaking the song open with heavy drums, and then synths the song already sounds like it will be a really catchy song. The vocals come in with a lot of reverb giving an almost angelic feel to it. Then a male vocalist sings, with the female vocals harmonizing in the background. The song is very catchy throughout. I really like the driving bass notes at the end. The chorus is extremely catchy with multiple voices singing various things. The harmonies are very nice in this song. I like then how the song gets quiet and the drums stop and the singing starts singing & mentioning Giraffes. The song then picks up again with the drums being the driving force.

Track 10. This song starts off sounding like a sampled drum beat running through a vinyl player. The music is quite minimal, just guitars on both years some synths on the side. The vocals are also harmonizing in the center. It still sounds quite nice with it being simple. The person seems to be singing about someone else he used to care about and the few instruments in it make the song appear much more personal. Then a full drum set kicks in and the song becomes almost danceable and extremely catchy. The song then goes back again to how it sounded in the beginning. Another chorus comes up as before. I can almost imagine it being related to halloween. It has a creepy kinda feel with the vibrato on the instrument on the right. Also this part sort of reminds me of monster mash.

Track 11. The song starts off with an electric piano sounding as if being listening from a vinyl system. The song immediately is very catchy. The melody seems as though it's been done before but it still sounds different. The catchiness of the verses makes me think of the spring/summer. The bass is really nice within this song, and by having the walking bass line gives the feeling of movement. I can sort of imagine Paul McCartney or The Beatles writing a song like this.

Track 12. Song starts off with a single guitar riff and drum beat. Then another guitar line comes in. The playing is kind of sloppy, but fits. Synths come in playing chords, and then single notes. The synths then mimic the guitar riff as well. This song has sort of a dark feel to it, yet feels quirky with the synthsiser horns... almost a feeling of humor at some moments.

Track 13. The song starts with snare drum being hit and a guitar riff being played. The song then becomes more full with vocals coming in as well as piano and more guitars. The song sort of has a 60's feel in terms of the melody of the song, but still feels more modern. Definitely the sound of an indie-pop band.

Track 14. Starting off the song with a piano and guitar already it seems as though that the song might be a ballad. The vocals sound very familiar... perhaps Metric? You can definitely tell that it sounds like Emily Haines, she has that distinct kind of voice. I like the chorus to the song, the harmonies are very nice. This song seems like a very nicely written song overall. Her voice is very nice and works really well with the music... overall a very catchy song.

Track 15. Just from the beginning notes I can already tell I like the song. The piano is very nice with the chords. The melody with the chords give a sense of sadness, or of reflection. It still sounds very beautiful... piano is one instrument that I always enjoy to hear

Track 16. (Besides having the title of the band and song when I open the document :P), I could guess that it was probably Steely Dan or a band from around their time. They have a 70's soft rock feel to them. I have listened to this band a little bit. I really enjoy the slide guitar within the song. Overall just a nicely written song, one of which I haven't heard before by the band.

Track 17. Even without the title (was also on itunes when i opened it)... you could definitely tell that it's BB King... not just by the vocals but also his distinct guitar sound/style. I've only heard a few BB King songs before, this one is quite a treat. It breaks him away from his typical blues sound and puts BB into a songwriting style, which I feel works quite well for him. I could see myself listening to more of these. I also like how the song builds towards the end and there's vocalists. Brings a nice close to the mix.

Favorites: 4, 5,6, 14, 15 ,17

Nice job with the mix I enjoyed all the songs for the most part. Tracks 12 & 13 were probably my least favorite.

Kay, I wrote half of my review but deleted it by accident.... well fail but just pretend I wrote this as I was listening because that's what the original was like. (I listened to it once during school today but in broken-up segments, then as a whole this evening.) (thpoilered coz it's long)

Track 1 - Really really awesome, I love this song so much. Good instrumentals... good... idk vocal humming or whatever. I don't know why I like it so much but it's really good, and a really good way to start off the mixtape. .... I really like it :wacky: I am really eager to see who the artist its...

Track 2 - This track is OK, but it's too long and... emoey I guess, the bit about this not being a fairy tale and it being real got a little tiresome. I did like the "tell me telll meeeeee" parts though.

Track 3 - The vocalist sounds a little like Brandon Flowers in some parts... but I don't think this is a Killers song so I don't have any real guesses. I did like it, though, a lot. The first time I was eh about it coz the chorus is realllly repetitive but I like it more now. (haha... "you win some you lose some, I feel bad for you man"... reminds me of Optimistic... oh phooey i am such a radiohead fangirl :disappointed:)

Track 4 - I like this too... catchy, it's nice. Digging the vocals. A bit rockier than I normally listen to but I really like it.

Track 5 - The coolness rating of this mixtape goes up about 10565 points here... "sweeeeet dissssposssittionnnnnn" -- one of my favorite songs ever, kudos dude. :nice: I love The Temper Trap, specially this song. Put a huge smile on my face when it came on. Great spot to put it, too, after the last song... the mix was getting a bit tough but then this track is all like "yeah I'ma chillax this mixtape out naow" and stuff... yeah well good positioning. :nice:

Track 6 - another relaxed tune, I liked this too. I am pretty impressed with this mix so far. nice song. I really dig the little... idk "rum pum ooh ooh" things in the background... WAIT IS THIS GRIZZLY BEAR? THIS IS GRIZZLY BEAR ISN'T IT. Please tell me I am at least on the right track here... I'm surprised, I listened to Veckatimest but it was boring as shit, I like this song though... well gee wouldn't it be embarrassing if this song was on Veckatimest... silly me... anyway really good song, maybe I should give Yellow House a listen or something. Thanks a bunch. :nice: (If it is Grizzly Bear. God I would hate myself if it wasn't, I would lose so much indie cred :shame:) Good thing you reuploaded this then.

Track 7 - IT HAZ A SAXOPHONE AT THE BEGINNING. I really like how this mix has mellowed out. I love the little... I really don't know what to call it, it's like this squeaky thing "boo boo dee doo... ba-dee dooo" or something. I like it anyway. this song is good. Has a nice jazzy vibe to it, and I like it when the singer goes into falsetto too. This one grew on me a bit also.

Track 8 - What can I say, this mixtape is really good, I dig this one too. :nice: I'm basically 100% positive this is Sigur Ros which again adds awesome points. Haven't heard this song I don't think, though, thankies thankies it's really good.

Track 9 - CROWN OF LOVE :freak: +moar points

Track 10 - Pretty flipping sure this is Arcade Fire too but it must be off of Neon Bible coz I never really listened much to that album... eh heh heh. Why is this mix so nice? :nice:

Track 11 - I like this too... the vocalist is nice. He reminds me a leetle bit in some spots of Tim Baker...? (This is good, because Tim Baker is awesome.) ...Yeah I like this one too, I really want to find out who made this tape coz they are awesome. :wacky:

Track 12 - This one is good too... I don't like the singer as much as the others (incidentally I don't think there are any women singing on this tape... kinda sad coz I listen to too many dude singers ) anyway this one is good too, though, I imagine I'll warm up to the vocals over time, I usually do if I like the instrumentation of most songs.

Track 13 - The piano is so lovely. I'm a sucker for lovely piano, what can I say. Lush little ambient track, nice nice nice. Really pleasant. :wacky:

Track 14 - I really like the transition, coz it was all... you know... we just finished a piano song so let's start the next song with moarrrr pianoooo (:cheesy:)... so yeah. I think I mayyyy have heard this somewhere before but I'm not sure. Gah nice mixtape is nice. Who are you, mixtape maker? I really wanna know.

Track 15 - Last track  Really pleasant song, great way to finish this off. This sounds a lotttt moar like the Killers than Track 3... actually I am pretty sure it is. Well anyway I haven't heard it (I'm a terrible fan ) so... again, thanks thanks.

zomg thank yew so muchhhhh... artist names track names album names etc etc NAOW plz... I really liked thissss :wacky: Track 4 was especially a lot different from what I generally listen to so thanks, always good to find songs I like in genres I don't appreciate as much. Really thank you. I'ma go listen to this moar. :escaping:

incidentally I want mah review  from my person

Edit: You can really tell how nice this was because of the embarrassing amount of smilies I used, I almost never stoop to such huge amounts of smiley usage unless it's thuper good. ^-^

4. Tyrant - Dreaming Out Loud - OneRepublic

I almost put this song on my mixtape. :awesome:

My review!

First of all, I love the artwork, I'm guessing it's based on The XX's album?

1) I LIEK! the guitar and drums are all awesome...haha, I actually quite like her voice. I recognise this though, is it Florence & The Machine? Anyway, I really like this one

2) Cool transition to this song! I like this one too :P and I recognise it! is it the Yeah Yeah Yeah's? :uhoh: This is good, I especially love teh chorus

3) I love the start with the guitars, and it get's better as it goes on :surprised: some cool effects when you get to the end.

4) The XX! :P I love you, this song is awesome. Probably my favourite by them (Crystalised)

5) This one is quite cool actually, but I don't like it as much as the others. Is it New Order? I've never really heard much of their stuff but this sounds what I expect them to sound like.

6) I didn't really like this one to be honest...it sounds like it's been made by the people who do bad game music :uhoh: sorry :P

7) seems quite dubsteppy at the beginning..then Chris Martin start's singing?!?! what the hell :P I've never heard this song but i really like it. I've gone off Coldplay recently but this song is nice.

8) this one is alright, I like the voice...I recognise it, haha. It seems quite cliche though

9) This one's interesting :uhoh: I quite like it! niccee

10) Good! They sound like a typical 90's UK band...I don't really like the chorus (Radiohead kind of put me off cheesy melodical chorus'..)

11) Nice grooove. I like the backwardsy singing. You really like female vocalists!

12) Cool intro. This reminds me of a lot of New Zealand bands that I've heard. I like this one

13) I don't like this very much :uhoh: cool acoustic guitar

14) baahahahahahah. Nirvana!...kinda. I really dislike countryish music and the banjo so I'll give this one a pass :P I prefer the original

15) Fleetwood Mac? haha...I quite like this :uhoh:

Nice mix of stuff there. It kind of got a bit off near the end but it's pretty good overall. I enjoyed listening to it, WHO ARE YOU??? AND WHO ARE THESE BANDS???

:D

far too many smileys..

Track #1: Its starting off very cool. Its a really mellow sound. I am really loving it. Its sending my mind spiraling, it has such a unique sound, very imaginative.... and I think I know who it is :) Is that Imogen Heap? Whatever it is I like it!

Track #2: Another one starting off mellow, which strangely suits my current mood. I love a good instrumental.

Track #3: We need to become friends! Whoever made this mixtape has got to be one of the coolest people on the face of the earth. Music means everything to me, and I truly like what I'm hearing off this list so far. I like the vocals a lot, they are reminiscent of a mixture of Phil Collins and Derek Webb.

Track #4: I was starting to crave guitar, and here it is! NICE voice! I'm in love with it, and I'm only 1 minute into the song! Its weird, I'm about to put these onto a cd.... and I don't even know what they are.... I like this. Oh! Hello violins! Welcome!

Track #5: It has sort of a tunnel sound to it, which is sort of interesting. Different voice.... nice. Ok, this sounds great. Its mellow, but moving at the same time. The strings sound really good with his voice. Nice addition of piano too.

Track #6: I know already that I'm going to lose hours listening to this one. The drums sound really good, I would play this loud on a good car stereo. That's where I listen to most music, because it just seems to sink in deeper.

Track #7: Good beat. Not my favorite, but I love the lyrics, and will definitely play it a lot.

Track #8: Upbeat! But its still chill. Its definitly different, my friends are going to hate this one.

Track #9: Good party track.

Track #10: I know this one! Lovely, I like it! Pheonix right... whatever it is I'm glad to have it!

Track #11: "Electronic" would be my word for this one. Not love at first listen, but I like it ok. Its fun, and I'm dancing!

Track #12: OF COURSE I LOVE THIS ONE! The Killers are among my favorites!

Track #13: Just ok. I can see it growing on me.

Track #14: Are you F-ing kidding!?!? I'm only the HUGEST Mutemath fan alive!!!!!!!! Really! I have been trying to get a live version of this song for ages! Oh hang on.... ITS A MIX!!!! I am floored! Thank you, thank you, thank you! You are my new best friend! Wow.... small world! If your a mega-fan check out my youtube page: http://www.youtube.com/lilworkerb and leave me a message! I MUST know who you are!

My mix-taper saved the upbeat songs for the last half of the list, which is different but very cool. Great taste. This list is all over the place from electronic to softer sounds, its all very good.

Ha ha, the courageous Kha! Too much pressure so you posted first XD !! Great job guys :p

Great review btw Kha!!

Review time for me!!!

First of all, I’d like to apologize for the English mistakes that may have in my review… I wrote my first feelings while I was listening to it for the very first time and then listened it a second time while writing this correctly.

So here’s finally the mixtape I’ve been waiting for days :)

Well, mediafire was really messing with me but I finally could download it, it took only a second to have it, which is kinda weird when you know my computer and my connection XD… Maybe it was a sign to tell me that THIS was gonna be something really amazing…

Well I think you’re done with my bullshit so here’s the review !

A thing I have to say before writing the review is that I don’t recognize any of the tracks! So happy :)

So, I put my favorite earphones (Koss, it rocks :p ) and… Here we go !

The first track is beginning and it tells us at the very first seconds the style of this mixtape: electro, original and surprising! I must admit that I was a bit scared when I heard the first notes with this weird voice making some “aah hii heyyy aaa iiii iiii hey” but my fears vanished when I heard the singer’s voice and his way of singing! Really great! Reminds me Dan Black in a way…

The track has an original rhythm, the guitar is really great, so electro rock, what I like when it’s well done, and here it definitely is :)

The mood of this song is pretty happy but melancholic too, or nostalgic… Don’t really know how to explain what I’m feeling.

A really great first track to introduce a mixtape :) !! I think this mix is gonna be gorgeous :p

The second track comes, with a great transition!!

It’s electro rock, but more “rock” than the previous track… The first word that came out to my mind was “awesome!” The song has a fast rhythm but it’s calm in a way… I think it comes from the singer, his voice is great and soothing (great personality), and from the xylophone… I’m moving my head and taping the rhythm with my feet but I’m not excited, I’m just escaping… As if I was eyes closed but they are opened… Gosh… Father interrupted me for 5 seconds XD! But anyway, I’m still in as I put play! Gorgeous track, really!! Everything is good and fits pretty well, the voice, the mood, the rhythm, the voice, the xylophone, the drums, the guitar… =)

We leave this dreamy mood to enter in the universe of the third track :)

Another really good transition, electro rock again but even more rock than the 2nd track! Still a pretty fast rhythm, the singer is a woman. More guitar on this one, with a lot of distortion! It's really, really rock! She has a great voice! The kind of songs which make you wanna jump, dance and messing with your hair :D

Another good track so, although I didn’t love it as much as the 2 first tracks, which fits with the others!

Fourth track, here we go!

Amazing transition, not easy to make I think, because this track has a pretty fast rhythm, like the third one, but it’s really calm compared to it! We’re still in an electro rock style, love the singer’s voice! It’s a really good melt between a voice which sounds very folk (reminds me The Tallest Man On Earth) with an electro-rock instrumental, very calm! All the instruments came progressively, really well done! It's weird because the song seems very simple, but there are a lot of instruments and effects! It’s still a dreamy mood for me, just close your eyes and you’ll escape from where you are ;)

Really good track, again! Like it! But I think I got a crush on the second one :p

5th track… An impressive change of mood! Like you wanna say “SO NOW EVERYBODY STOP DREAMING! WAKE UP AND SMILE!!!” XD

We're still on electro but it's much happier! AWESOME! Made me smile at the very first notes! It seems pretty old school although I think it's not, the kind of songs which makes us smile!

The instrumental is really great! The singer is awesome, his voice and his personality are so… original and offbeat! I can hear that he’s really enjoying! I can just imagine him on stage singing right know!

Now I feel as I was preparing myself to go out to dance and have fun with my friends!

6th track: on the dance floor right now, forgetting everything and enjoying!

It’s a great GREAT GREAT TRACK!!! The transition was awesome! Electro again, a great bass!

The synthesizer is gorgeous! The style is pretty much dance, makes me wanna dance in my room (why the hell do I put my earphones XD) !

GOSH, I feel like I'm back in summer! (No, I won't look at my window XD)

7th track… Back at home!

Damn, we change totally!!! Acoustic, a great folk guitar is leading the track at the beginning... The transition seemed rude at first but it fits. It's like we were going to bed and make sweet dreams after we spent a GREAAAAAAT moment in a nightclub and we think "Yeaaah… that was awesome…” with a great smile upon our faces…

The other instruments come, a xylophone, trumpets I think, but everything is really... it fits you know, can't explain, just wanna let myself go and dream while listening to this song! Step by step the song becomes “richer” and it explodes… The choirs are beautiful.

8th track: dreaming!

Really good transition, a more faster song, it starts like the last ended, with a musical “explosion”… On the same mood, the dreamy one, wanna let myself float… Reminds be the style of Beirut

I prefer the previous one though…

It's a little bit melancholic but don’t know, I feel hope when I hear it :)

9th track… WAKE UP EVERYBODY!

Great transition again, it fits well with the last one cause it’s a fast song.

It's pop rock, a lil’ bit electro, it's like you're wakening up after the night and the dreams we lived in the past 4 songs! The first thing I see is the beginning of a sunny day, preparing yourself to go out!

Love the piano which gives a great rhythm to the song ! The bridge is really good!

Love this mood, happy and dreamy too, with rhythm!

10th track: Get out everybody and have some fun!

Yeah great transition again!! Definitely rock!!! A fast rhythm! Wanna move, laugh, make a lot of stuff, like during a busy sunny day during holidays!

Really enjoyed this song, made me travelling without moving!

11th track… the sun is going down, everybody’s going back home…

Oh, it calms down, like the end of the day, a folk song, with a bit of synthesizer or don't know what behind, and beautiful guitars… So now, you’ll really think I’m stupid (if it was not already the case…) but I hear 2 pretty voices, 2 men singing on the same time, but I don’t know if it’s the same guy ôO…

Anyway, it sounds beautiful… Really, I feel like I spent a gorgeous day and know I'm watching the sun going down and thinking… In a dreamy mood, not happy or sad, just dreamy... Feel like I'm not on earth right know...

12th track: still dreaming…

Still folk, pop-rock… More rhythm, a pretty awesome voice! Love the chorus :)

Makes me move my head and feet but still in a dreamy, naive mood... You know when you're thinking about someone you love... It's a bit old school, remind me The Beatles.

It’s a really romantic song I think!

13th track: going back home…

Now a calm song, still in the same style, rock…

Feels like it's know the night, we're going home after this great day, you know...

Yeah the bass rocks, the drums and the electric guitar solo too!

The kind of song which gives you smile and hope again when you're a bit down… Love it :)

14th track…

Well I'm pretty out of words now XD !

Great transition, one more time! Much more rhythm, but a dreamy mood again! A pop rock song but with electro influences…

A great bass, the effects on guitar are great! It makes it sound pretty electro but it's not... don’t know how to explain!!

This song makes me escape too, always that beautiful dreamy mood I love! I really feel we are at the end of this amazing tape (unfortunately :( )

The voices are really cool!!

15th track… Well the last one :'(

Great, great transition again! It ends in the same way it started, electro rock and original!

Still a dreamy mood, a great way to finish a tape!

(F***ing telephone, should have not answered!)

Anyway... A great track to finish this amazing tape!! The dreamy mood is over… :’(

So, what can I say… Just amazed by this tape!! The tracks are awesome!! And I feel like the person who made it has amazing musical tastes and worked very hard because everything fits perfectly!!

Really enjoyed this tape! Just can’t describe how much with words! Can’t wait to know who is this person!

I had a great moment, travelled without moving! Turned my head and saw it was already dark outside… Damn…

Thanks a lot, whoever you are!! =)

And again, thanks Bryce!

Firstly I am SO SO sorry for replying too late to this! Have been really busy lately. I was so amazed listening to your review, I am so glad you liked it! Its a real mix of genres that even coldplay fans will like, with international and Australian flavour!

Here's the tracklisting:

1. 'Doubt' - Dephic

A new up and coming Manchester band from the UK, with a debut album. This is clearly the best track of the album. Whilst the start is weird, it ends with a great electro-rock explosion.

2. 'Signs And Wonders' - Animal Kingdom

One of the most surprising bands of 2009, I discovered them by chance. The singer is mesmerizing!

3. 'Austere' - The Joy Formidable

Another "underground" UK act that is unknown internationally. They supported

The Editors last year on tour and the female singer is superb!

4. 'Slow For Me, My Island' - Dappled Cities

Sydney Band, 3rd album. My favourite Aussie album of 2009. Great track that

slows down the tempo only slightly for a temporary breather.

5. 'One Night In October' - Little Comets

This is the UK band I am most excited about. They make disco-rock tunes that do make you want to jump around. Really upbeat, positive music that hasn't even made an album yet!

6. 'Sometimes' - Miami Horror

A new Australian act that hone in on the best of todays and 80's music in a unique

blend. This has been their smash breakout single. No album yet.

7. 'Blood' - The Middle East

A unique folk group from Australia - tipped for big things in 2010. Breakout single, really melodic with an interesting ending. For fans of Grizzly Bear.

8. 'Winter Winds' - Mumford & Sons

London lads who have made it big in Australia recently. They play irish folk-pop-rock sounding music with a london twist. Infectious to sing to! Chorus is amazing.

9. 'The Good News' - Philadelphia Grand Jury

Quirky band from Sydney. Breakout single off their debut album - it's another favourite of mine because of the piano riff and its such a positive sound!

10. 'Thats The Reason' - The Rakes

Uptempo, toe-tapping British indie rockers. This song is amazing to jump around to, with so much energy. This song typifies good working class British music to me!

11. 'Disembodied Voices' - Neil and Tim Finn

Being a New Zealander for 12 of my 20 years, had to put The Finn Brothers on the mixtape - NZ icons. This is a real melodic, slow tune I thought would fit well.

12. 'No More Empty Words' - The Thrills

My 4th favourite band, haven't released an album since 2007. The singer has the best vocals in the entire world, and it's well-produced, great irish indie music.

13. 'I Wanna Live In a Dream (In My record Machine) [Demo]' - Noel Gallagher

A Noel Gallagher (ex-Oasis) demo that hasn't had a proper release yet. Its one of my favourite of his, and could be a sign of what is to come in the future if he releases a solo album.

14. 'A Community Service Announcement' - Jonathan Boulet

The first true breakout single of 2010. He's a 21-year-old from Sydney who produced this whole album in his bedroom. This song is going to be a big money maker.

15. 'Let Your Love Grow Tall' - Passion Pit

Passion Pit are one of the biggest acts of 2009, and this was the final track of their album, which I think was a great closer. Love the indie/electro crossover.

Glad you liked, i tried my best!

11. 'Disembodied Voices' - Neil and Liam Finn

Being a New Zealander for 12 of my 20 years, had to put The Finn Brothers on the mixtape - NZ icons. This is a real melodic, slow tune I thought would fit well.

Yay :wacky:

And you mean Neil & Tim not Liam

Yay :wacky:
