Doesn't music bought from Itunes have protection so people can't listen to it on other computers? Most of my music was bought and my friend uploaded a Itunes cd from his computer and when I try to play it asks for his password.

I think what you can do with more recently purchased itunes songs (like bought within the last few months, I dunno when the changed it), you can create an mp3 version of the song and then someone who doesn't have your account can listen.

It used to be that if i wanted to send a song to a friend or add it to my mp3 player (before I got an ipod), I'd have to burn a cd of that song and then reimport it as an mp3

How do I do that?

I'm horrible with computers. I'm like an old man.

haha

well right click on the song you bought off itunes and click convert to mp3 (or aac, or whatever the file format is). and then it'll make a duplicate copy for you but it should at least be availible to send.

to check right click, look at the file info and see if it has an email or itunes account attached to it, if it doesn't you're good!

if all of this doesn't work or you can't create an mp3 version then I think you have to do what I did and make a playlist of songs you want to convert, burn a cd of them, and then re-import them.

does that make sense at all on what to do?

I feel like the CRTC as I have to have a minimum number of Canadian Content...

Im going with a theme again this time...American Rock. Got some 80s, Grunge(I dont count this band or song as grunge though), Post-Grunge and Folk, with a little blues.

Eh, I really don't have any criteria for a mix. Whatever I get whether I know it or not will be fun to receive and listen to not knowing whats coming. Just give me a mix of songs you love, thats what I plan on doing.

whoever gets my mix is in for a treat! Are there are rules on actually mixing the mix?

HEY!!! WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN????? why didn't I know. I've been composing my playlist since November (still hasn't finished though), I'd go crazy if I'm not in.

long story short:

I'm in!

p.s.: I'll take ANYTHING.

You don't mash them up, you just pick some, delete the artist, song, album names, etc, and put them in a .rar file or something and put it on rapidshare or something.

(I assume you mean a mash-up like some sort of remixy thing)

ok ill try that sounds awesome just inform me if it starts the submitting thing!

Ok guys Im back. Our old computer broke so I had to get a new one. Thankfully, my mixtape was already uploaded onto the computer. We currently have 50 participants, which sounds like a record to me! If anyone has any questions, please ask. There is 14 more hours until the submittion period closes and I start to send names out for the partners.

I made a mix, but I'm not really satisfied with it so I need to go back and change some songs up. This is so exciting, ahaha.

what I'm going to do for the mix that might make things easier for you all is I'm going to make a playlist, and then duplicate all the songs (right click-create mp3 version)... and then from there delete all the info from it... that way I don't have to re-enter in all the information again.

Thanks to you too for the explanation, so I can choose between two ways to do it ;)

i'm pretty sure it's to show people what artists they do not want on their mix, or want to stray away from

Ok, so I don't have to make a special mix for the people who have posted their lastfm page! I can make my mix without artists or bands restrain! That's great because I have already thought about some songs I would put in my mix!

And about the audio format, it was a stupid question  because most people use .mp3 nowadays

So you can count me in :D
