I totally agree with this. They were moving and wanted to get rid of some stuff - so why not get rid of the old stuff in a very good way? They made sure that a lot of the stuff ended up in Coldplay-loving hands and at the same time they made sure that a well-deserving Charity like KIDS COMPANY received a large sum of money. So they did a lot of good things at the same time. All's well that ends well. :)

But it counts that it is new and for charity and that some of today's biggest artists perform that song.

January 25, 201016 yr Thanks for posting that article Anna about the recording and performance. I was deeply moved when listening to HALO Friday/Saturday night and now again when reading the article. Chris and Beyoncé were doing a tremendous job. I hope that their HALO version will sell well too. :)
