January 20, 201016 yr sure? don't you rather mean synth strings? (or generally digital strings) though there is some real violin in it, partly... (and this one is either E or A)
January 20, 201016 yr Author sure? don't you rather mean synth strings? (or generally digital strings) though there is some real violin in it, partly... (and this one is either E or A) Yeah, I mean the synth strings that they play on keyboard live, and such.
January 20, 201016 yr sure? don't you rather mean synth strings? (or generally digital strings) though there is some real violin in it, partly... (and this one is either E or A) Most of the album strings are recorded with only 1 violin.
January 20, 201016 yr my yamaha does! they do - imo - the best sounds... but you might have to mix them, of course!
January 20, 201016 yr you know what i don't get, when they play live the strings come in on backing track, when chris plays it for a short time the sound is the same ? and doesn't it keep going even when jonny's not playing? idk performance?
January 21, 201016 yr you know what i don't get, when they play live the strings come in on backing track, when chris plays it for a short time the sound is the same ? and doesn't it keep going even when jonny's not playing? idk performance? Its just backing noise. Chris and Jonny really do play it live, but it loops after.
January 21, 201016 yr Oh I'm talking about the actual strings they used:P Very possible that they are from the Yamaha piano Chris is using..
January 21, 201016 yr Author Oh I'm talking about the actual strings they used:P Very possible that they are from the Yamaha piano Chris is using.. At the grammies, Jonny was playing the strings, and it was a small keyboard, haha.
January 21, 201016 yr my yamaha does! they do - imo - the best sounds... but you might have to mix them, of course! What Yamaha do you use? I've got a DGX-520 model and the closest sound I can get is Chamber strings and it sounds rubbish!
January 21, 201016 yr At the grammies, Jonny was playing the strings, and it was a small keyboard, haha. You can copy the string 'preset' from the piano and use in in like Kontakt or other programs.
January 21, 201016 yr What Yamaha do you use? I've got a DGX-520 model and the closest sound I can get is Chamber strings and it sounds rubbish! i'm using a CVP-202, but i haven't tried the strings for VLV as of yet.... but don't always think of repruducing stuff, just give it your own sound
January 21, 201016 yr Author You can copy the string 'preset' from the piano and use in in like Kontakt or other programs. So most likely they were using VSTs then for their live stuff?
January 23, 201016 yr NO! live the actual strings are looped, what chris and jonny are playing is a harpsichord sound. Look on BBC performance (chris strikes a chord early b4 the song, and its obviously harpsichord.)
