WoooooHooooo, a revival of this thread, omg I was browsing and came across this so got to thinking about how I got into coldplay , when the yellow vid came out i never really thought anything of it or the song or even the group, then one day a friend said to me to listen to the parachutes cd and I thought oh yeah ok great songs and left it at that, then this friend became so obsessed with everthing to do with coldplay I just had to keep listening etc, and then I meet my hubby who happens to be english , well you all know what the english are like when it comes to one of thier own bands etc, and he was a coldplay fan so my love for coldplay grew from there and now I have had the privilage to be able to have seen coldplay twice in concert over the years, yipppppeee for me  And thats my story of my introduction to coldplay, boring i know, but can anyone top that , ps we were arms lengths away from them at the viva la vida concert yaaaaaaaayyyyyy I could have reached out and touched Johnnys shoes ggggrrrrrrrr if the security guard was not standing so close to them all, damm it all :laugh3:

its been a whileeeeeeeeeeeeee, since i 1st heard Trouble on the radio :laugh3: that time i only listen to radio or my walkman, did not have internet or anything else, so everytime i heard trouble on radio i just put sound out loud and sing, when i 1st heard band name i keep it in my memory and then i had the lucky to spent my x-mas away from home with my cousin, then we went to music store and she asked me to pick one cd, the Coldplay name easily comes to my mind and i look for it..i found Parachutes and few more singles :shocked3: thought that was more than one cd and did not knew which one to choose  so i bring the one who had more songs  Parachutes album...that night 24-25 she put the cd on the player and i was like :shocked3: this is so freaaaaking cool..then..i just keep following this band :) hehe long story , sorry

First got into them when flicking through the music channels after finishing junior school, and found the then new single, Shiver video. Got hooked with the brilliant introduction to that song and my love for my favourite band grew extremely fast from then.

Jees that was back when I was 8. Time flies with Coldplay!:D

i was just watching MTV music videos, back when they actually played good music videos.

then speed of sound came on. but i couldn't find the remote. :P

so i watched it, and i was all. "wow, these guys are good. REALLY good. that lead singer is really cute." :wacky::laugh4:

so, i went online and there you have it! i was in love.:P!!

I am a fairly recant Coldplay fan. Last summer I was watching Loaded on Fuse and it was on Coldplay, I never really listened to them before; at the time. The first video was Yellow. I watched the whole thing with my mouth open, gawking. And then I heard Viva La Vida, and BAM! I was hooked, I never had a chance :D

It began with 'the scientist' one year ago. I saw the video on youtube and loved the video and the song. then I heard 'violet hill', 'viva la vida' and 'lost' a lot on the radio and it reminded me of the other songs I knew from them. for example 'the hardest part' (which was actually the first song on my first mp3-player:D), 'talk' and 'trouble'.

I began to be interested in music and soon I knew every single song of them, but wasn't really interested in the band itself.

then, I think it was in october last year, my music teacher made a lesson about coldplay and the song 'viva la vida'. At that time i didn't even knew, how many members the band had or what teir names are (but I knew every song...weird :D). that was the day I first read some interviews of them, watched pictures, visited their website and finally in 2009 I joined the forum. a few weeks later, I had the idea, that I could visit one of their concerts in summer.

In five days I'll become the ticket to my 16th birthday, and on 25th august it's going to be my first ever concert.:flutterby:

I was 11, and I was at my cousins house. It was the summer and we were swimming and she had music playing. And she put in A Rush Of Blood To The Head , and said "this is going to change your life." she was totally right, but I didn't really realize it until later.

At the time, the music video for The Scientist was on tv all the time.. so I would watch it whenever it was on.. but I didn't really listen to any of their other songs until I was... 13 maybe? when I got their first two albums.

ahahahahha. read my signature.

I can't really remember but one thing I remember is hearing 'Fix You' in an advert for a TV show and was like- WOW! What an amazing song and downloaded it

one day (in 2003 or something) i heard Yellow on the radio, and i liked it. i found out that it was by Coldplay, but i never bothered to check them out or anything. then when X&Y came out there was something about them on vh1 (storytellers, maybe?) and my mom was like, "that's the band that plays Yellow!" then i heard Speed of Sound, and that's when i decided to check them out. then i became obsessed with them, and it's been that way for 3 years now. :D THE END.

It was when i was listening to yellow on the hit charts on tele and i thought omg who is that guy then my mum told me that i should look on the internet and i found out loads and check out all the songs then i starting thinking this man is sooo hot so i had to ring my best m8 and i sent her yellow then we both thought this has to been the most greatest song ever now now 5 years on im going to theire concert im sooo happy x

:heart:The first songs I ever heard of that were by Coldplay were Clocks and Talk, and that was when I was six! I'd never really paid attention to the band, but when Viva came out, I instantly bought tons of their music, and realized that I'd been in love with Coldplay for ages!

It was a miracle!

:lock:

First time I ever heard them was in 2000 I was little and dumb, I saw Don't Panic on tv, I didn't like the song because I didn't really understand it but the video goddamn fascinated me :P I always though wow how can they move their heads like that , so then I saw the video for yellow and I was heyy isn't that the man from that cool video , then as I got older I just kind of listened to their music all along from that point I don't know it's not that interesting my stry :P, but I just loved them all along :)

:DYayyyy for you going to your first concert:D:D enjoy

Well, I am a very very late fan !:P

I saw LAST September the wonderful Viva la Vida on TV and I thought " WOW ! It is fucking great !" So I began to sing with mmmmmmm because I did not know the lyrics:laugh3: and I began to watch every videos on youtube...

I could not find tickets for Bercy ( but I did not know all the lyrics so I would feel SO lonely !)... so I have been in London just to see them and my mother killed me because I told her one week before :

" Eh mom, I will go to London to see Coldplay with my best friend and I do not care if you disagree... !"

Yeah, it was a huge fast passion... :o

A few years ago, I first heard "Speed of Sound" on the radio in the car, by chance. It lured my attention. Then I heard "Clocks" that I loved at once, "Shiver" too. Ever since, I bought Coldplay's Cds. Then I searched on Internet if a website existed to their attention. Ever since, I'm on here everyday. :laugh3: I could even admit I'm Coldplay addict like you, guys, right ?

I heard Clocks on the radio and listened to it whilst playing video games!

I was accidentally fall in love with Fix You when doing my homework in front of the TV!

It was January 2006, a bit late, I know. :D

A couple years ago, some friend of mine dragged me to a hillside parking lot so that he could smoke his cigarette, and since I'm not a smoker, he felt bad and let me choose the music. He asked me what type I like, and I told him that I prefer mellow, laid-back, but uplifting music with maybe a bit of piano thrown in. So he turned on Speed of Sound and caught me hook, line, and sinker.

well, i was trying to find some good music at the tv and : BOOM! i saw "clocks" video and i just was shocked. God! they were telling, playing my feelings. since that day, "clocks" is my best song ever.

it was when i heard their song on the radio in a car. i never knew that band was coldplay :) it was crest of waves :nice: i heard clocks but that was on tv.began to search the band.loved every song of coldplay then i became a fan :nice:
