oh fuck.....

I didn't even know that it is REALLY possible to call a telephone box:wacky::freak:

Of course it's possible! I did it once and Colin Farrell picked up, I totally fucked with his head yo.

They are written in the phonebox. Maybe not every phonebox, but I've definitely seen it before, not in huge lettering, but where they put the little ads for taxi's and stuff there sometimes is a little note saying "This telephone no: yadda yadda"

Huh. Maybe I'll try it then. But first I need to find a telephone box

I don't know about the US, but in Northern Ireland and UK I've noticed it.

As for people who want to pick up a ringing telephone, do note that the only reason I can think of for someone to ring a telephone box is so that their call is not traced to a phone number for something illegal. So, if you do walk past a ringing telephone, there's a pretty decent chance that a freelance pimp/prostitute or drug dealer is somewhere nearby. Or a gunrunner. Or a money launderer. Or a fraudster. Or a Nazi.

But as I wrote earlier, when I picked up a ringing telephone the person on the other end didn't sound all too friendly and hung the phone up when they realised I wasn't who they are looking for. I really can't see why someone would ring a telephone box, only in circumstances when maybe they know someone who's mobile phone battery is dying so they know where they can ring them and speak. But even then, the person would be ready and waiting to answer, and besides, they could just ring from the box itself :anxious:

Lesson of the day: Probably best not to pick it up. But I still would.

I'm going to be honest, i wouldn't.

How do you even get the numbers for those phones? :laugh4:

I don't know about the South, but as I stated above, it's written in the telephone booths  Don't you listen to me child?

ahhhh yeah.-....now I remember that I saw the number of the phone box in a phone box once and I was like :wtf:....

so that makes me think of this:

If you know the phone number of the phone box you are calling from why not telling the one you want to call they should call you in the phone box...I mean it would be much cheaper (if they are paying flatrate), wouldn't it?

Yeah, that's a good idea, phonebox's are a total ripoff.

That would've been useful advice IN TEH NINETIES :freak:

ahhhh "Telefonzelle" I used a dictionary and it gave me 7 different expressions for it....

I would pick it up and pretend to be someone from learn direct

come to think of it, i might just probably hesitate about picking it up and by the time i've made a decision, or haven't, it would have stopped ringing.

^When it happened to me I hesitated for ages, but it kept ringing, for, ages :anxious:

hmmm I'd probably pick it up if it kept ringing and no one else seemed interested :wacky:
