April 10, 201016 yr I've been thinking about the Einstein twin paradox for a while. For those of you ignorant philistines who have never heard of it, it goes thus: (If you don't have at least a slight grasp of relativity I recommend finding a good Youtube vid or something to explain it because I am not going to right now) Say there are two twins on Earth, we will call them A and B because we are uncreative. Twin A stays on earth, whereas twin B gets on a fancy rocket ship (when they're, let's say, 23 or so) and flies away from earth, at a speed approaching the speed of light. After a while B gets sick and tired of space and decides to come back, and then finds, to his SHOCK HORROR, that his twin is DEAD due to old age whereas B is only, I don't know, 23 and four and a quarter weeks or something. According to relativity this happens because time moves slower for B, because B is moving away from A at a speed approaching the speed of light. Right. That's the basic story. BUT, think about it from B's perspective. From B's perspective, when he's traveling at a constant velocity, he is immobile, because that's relativity for you. From B's perspective, A is the one moving away from him at speeds approaching the speed of light, because again, that's relativity for you. So why is it that B would "age slowly" whereas A would not? If I gave this a little more thought I would probably figure it out. But it's really bothering me. Comments? Discussion?
April 10, 201016 yr Author Oh, well okay I think I have it figured out, but it was damn interesting while I was thinking about it so I'm not going to explain, plus I'm not sure it would be very clear, but all the clever people should discus it anyway. CONTINUE.
April 10, 201016 yr That's interesting. Don't know what to say or do about it, but it's intriguing.

April 10, 201016 yr Author Lies. While we're at it, hell, let's add the funky-ass quantum double-slit and Schrodinger's cat experiments and the observation necessary: WHY exactly would it take an OBSERVATION to make the cat dead or alive OR the photon act as a particle or a wave? (I may be cheating as far as the double slit experiment goes, since a lot of physicists think that light travels in the amazingly convenient and mystic fifth dimension, and the fact that it's so hard to explain in these four dimensions is only due to the fact that we're thinking in four dimensions; but literally the only thing I have to even base a statement like that off of is I read Hyperspace by Michio Kaku a few weeks ago so I'm not really qualified to actually talk about that)

April 10, 201016 yr I hate this about Physicists, why do they have no grip on reality? It's fucking obvious why the one in the rocket is the one who doesn't age.
April 10, 201016 yr Author Yeah but that's from our perspective, if you think about it from his perspective it would be the opposite.
April 10, 201016 yr But he was born on earth and left earth, you mong. Plus he IS moving as he's in a fucking spaceship.
April 10, 201016 yr Author Fuck, I did a little research and apparently this whole paradox was what caused Einstein to abandon special relativity and develop general relativity instead. So this paradox is stupid.
April 10, 201016 yr if Einstein couldn't figure it out , how the hell are we supposed to do it
April 10, 201016 yr don't you know that there are a lot of kids who have higher IQ level than Einstein
April 10, 201016 yr don't you know that there are a lot of kids who have higher IQ level than Einstein there is an Asian man, who teaches in a Asian university, I don't remember his name, but many believe he has the highest IQ in the world, his IQ is ridiculously high, but even though he is now what 60 he still hasn't done anything, invented anything, solved anything, at the end of the day IQ is pretty overrated.
April 10, 201016 yr Author if Einstein couldn't figure it out , how the hell are we supposed to do it  He could though, he rejected the theory this was based on (special relativity) and invented an entirely new almost unrelated one because it was better (general relativity)... I explained that... you would Damn straight I would. I am an Intellectual Man.
April 10, 201016 yr Cause now you're saying you have a penis. This could be a story for the Daily Mail!
