There used to be "thanks"...I loved those...you could even see who thanked you and for what posts.

I believe God exsists in people. He is not an old man in the sky that created the universe. I think the bible should not be taken literally. Each story has a moral at the end, but it never happened. I also like to think the universe wasn't just some random occurence and this is it, there's no heaven or hell or any other place you go to after.

God is that indefinable something which we all feel but which we do not know. To me God is Truth and Love. God is ethics and morality. God is fearlessness, God is the source of light and life and yet He is above and beyond all these. God is conscience...He transcends speech and reason. He is a personal God to those who need His touch. He is the purest essence. He simply Is to those who have faith.

I read this quote about 15 times in row when I first found it; it summed up exactly how I feel about God. I do not see God as a being or even a force, God simply Is anything and everything around us in our world, he is love and hate, life and death, everything. Prayer to Him is pointless in my opinion, but belief in Him is not.

I believe in God. I like him (its not being sexist, just easier to say) quite a lot.

Well, there's nothing to really prove there's a God, but there's nothing to disprove it either. However I personally believe there is something, but to call it "God" seems a bit... erm... well, I'm pretty sure he/she/it wouldn't call themselves that.

This.

God is Larry Sanders, I read that at a bus stop once.

LOL.

i find this topic about God rather sensitive.

I was hoping this would turn into some sort of 'My God is much better than yours'-type thread. :(

I haven't yet experienced anything that makes me want to believe, so until that happens I'm an athiest. If that takes me to the end of my days then so be it!

Wheeww, thank god. I was beginning to think I was the only one.

I might expand on my opinion later, when I have more time.

I have god's mobile phone number if anybody wants it ;)

^^ DUUUDE. HOOK ME UP.

I was really religious until I turned 17

then I started to think for myself and now am an agnostic athiest

Is that really possible though? I mean, isn't agnostic basically "don't know, don't care"? Athiest is definitive. I don't really think you can combine the two. That's like a half-arse atheist.

it just means that even though I don't believe in God, I don't have absolute proof that god does not exist, it's like saying I know that there is no gigantic teacup on the other side of the sun but I can't "prove" it because no one has been to the other side of the sun.

I just like that term, because the word atheist is so forceful and has many negative conotations. :\

True that... which is unfortunate.
