It strikes me that just as "great" as this country is there's just as much if not more shit things about it.

*shakes fist in air*

Damn you, America :disappointed:

Its pretty darn obvious that shadows is talking about the united states. i.e. the only country alternately referred to as 'america'.

No sh*t Sherlock, I was just answering the question of "what do I think of", and that's "what I thought of".

well excuuuuuuussee me for not realizing that 'there are other types a america too guize...' was somehow a description of the u.s..

^She's got a point that when she hears the word 'America' in any context she thinks of South America, North America etc. But you've also got a point that this is basically retarded.

Terrible music and record companies going bankrupt because they sign people like the Jonas Brothers.

It ain't the Jonas Brothers that are the problem. They are tween music and they actually make loads of money for their label. The main problem is with an overall drop in CD sales due to extensive downloading.

Correct. Not all Americans are retarded, just a select few. :)

So, ignoring my first response...

I think of too much government involvelement/oversight. Something is seriously wrong when they take 1/3 of your paycheck and the country is still gabillions of dollars in debt.

Well I thought I'd post that to stir a bit, and although the interviewer is clearly looking for stupid people, some of those people didn't seem like retards. But for all we know he could've been out on some streets in America, asking the same questions to strangers in the hope to get a good clip, and then put it all together so that it looks like it was done in a day or two, like every other person you meet in America thinks a triangle is a circle (Yes someone did think that in the video.

But this one's a bit more interesting, Mercer interviews American politicians, one of which is the governor of Idaho, who congratulates Canada on introducing the 24 hour clock- the joke being that before they used a 20 hour clock ("Like the French") at 65mins per hour (Do the math haha). Now I suppose there could be a reason why they don't show them explaining to the governor all this, and possibly they could've just asked him to say the line, but it would appear he believes this and plays along.

There's another one that I can't find, which is basically the same sortof mix except they also throw in university students and lecturers, saying stuff that is just as stupid as any of this.

Incredibly stupid random people on the street, maybe, but university lecturers and politicians, that's frightening.

Americans need some serious book-learnin'.
