June 28, 201016 yr I heard somewhere, but I can't remember where, that Ronnie was doing all the drums for Flamingo.
July 8, 201016 yr My laptop's sound isn't working :bigcry: I'm going to try on my desktop :escaping2:
July 8, 201016 yr I heard somewhere, but I can't remember where, that Ronnie was doing all the drums for Flamingo. from here: Ronnie also filled us in on Flowers' solo record, - which he said came about as the band wanted a break after eight years of near non-stop touring and recording - telling us all about his contributions to the album, which included a dose of double drumming. "I stopped by at the studio and my friend was playing drums [with Brandon] and we wanted to jam a little bit on a song called 'Playing With Fire'. We set up couple of drum sets and just started playing. We had a little snare drum, hi hat and kick drum, miked it up really quick and we both started playing together. It was this double drum thing that was kinda cool and it filled out the song a little bit." :D My laptop's sound isn't working :bigcry: I'm going to try on my desktop :escaping2: you might want to see the behind the scenes, too! They used the instrumental version. It's :awesome: [ame= ] [/ame]
July 8, 201016 yr Thank you! I tried it on my desktop. I like the music video, but the ninjas confused me. :dizzy2: The behind the scenes was interesting too.
July 9, 201016 yr What's with the ninjas that confused you? :wacky: I am more confused with the supposed relationship of Charlize and Brandon on the video. :laugh3:
July 9, 201016 yr I...liked it? Kinda. I think. I'm still really unsure about this whole solo album thing.
July 9, 201016 yr Making fun of the Killers and/or Brandon Flowers has started to become like shooting the lead singer of a pretty successful band in a very tiny barrel. I mean, at this point, it's pretty well established that the dude has only one trick (mixing Duran Duran with Bruce Springsteen) and he never actually says anything in his lyrics, but suggesting such will lead Killers fans to lambast you publicly*. So, okay, the video for "Crossfire." Yep, vague lyrics. Yep, big choruses. Yep, Charlize Theron. Yep, expensive budget. Yep, ninjas. Yep, vague religious overtones**. In short, if you like the Killers, prepare your pants for tightening. If not, see yourself out. Brandon Flowers' Flamingo is due out in September. *- Even though I suspect it's because they know it to be true. I guess their only consolation is that he's still better than the dude from Kings of Leon who is still better than the dude from the Bravery. **- One of those things is better than the other. It's not the chorus.
July 9, 201016 yr ^^ :laugh3: I love the Killers, but that is so true :P It's definately an odd choice of video and it doesn't really suit the song... but it's ok because Brandon looks so cute when he smiles :shy:
July 9, 201016 yr What's with the ninjas that confused you? :wacky: I am more confused with the supposed relationship of Charlize and Brandon on the video. :laugh3: What the hell were they doing there? That's my question :P
July 9, 201016 yr What the hell were they doing there? That's my question :P :laugh3::laugh3: now that i think about it. maybe ninjas really isnt the right choice to be Brandon's kidnappers.:lol:
July 12, 201016 yr Flamingo album cover... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Flamingo_brandon_flowers.jpg
July 20, 201016 yr It's not that bad... though I don't think it really suits the music, it kinda looks like the cover of a jazz album :P
July 20, 201016 yr Its just so different from the Crossfire single cover. Yeah its a bit tom Jones or Burt Bacharach for me
July 20, 201016 yr Yeah, it wouldn've been great if the cover had been similar to the crossfire cover! But oh well. Let's not judge a book (or an album...) by it's cover.
July 20, 201016 yr I heard "Crossfire" for the first time Saturday on my TV. Good stuff, good stuff. I can't wait for the album. :wacky: Also, I think I'm repeating the general view of the video when I say the concept was odd.
