June 10, 201016 yr Here you can find information about Amsterdam http://www.iamsterdam.com/en/visiting When will you be there?
June 10, 201016 yr I actually had to wiki that. "Sun Lolly is an ice lolly for home freezing. Sun Lolly contains 10% juice which gives it a genuine, refreshing taste of real fruit." Only 10% :P what's the other 90%?
June 10, 201016 yr IT IS.. IT IS LOLLY. YOU SEE, THE FRUIT IS THE SUN, AND THE REST IS THE LOLLY. CLEVER!

June 11, 201016 yr Author I'm thinking of staying in the YHA London Central hostel in London in a private room. Berlin Hostel will probably be Pfefferbett Hostel in a 6 person female dorm. Venice Hostel seems to be between L' Imbarcadero (5 person female dorm) Albergo San Samuele hotel with a private room. Thoughts/information?
June 11, 201016 yr btw, you have the international youth card thing? i've heard you can access hostel at a cheaper cost that way. (may that input is stupid and was said before :uhoh: )
June 11, 201016 yr Berlin Hostel will probably be Pfefferbett Hostel in a 6 person female dorm. Thoughts/information? I've never been there, but from what I read on other pages this youth hostel is a good choice. It's also located in the district of Prenzlauer Berg which is one of the more interesting quarters with heaps of cafés, bars and pubs at Kastanienallee. The tube station "Senefelder Platz" which belongs to the U2 line is also only 5 minutes by foot. :)
June 12, 201016 yr Author btw, you have the international youth card thing? i've heard you can access hostel at a cheaper cost that way. (may that input is stupid and was said before :uhoh: ) Is that the international student card? I got one from my university during the year :) Definately handy to have to get student and youth discounts. Not stupid, I don't think anyone mentioned it. We have a day/night breakdown planned out we want to start booking our flights soon. The only problem is there was an issue with my sister getting her extension and now she might need to pay $260 instead of $140 to try and get on the same flight as me. :( apparently its all booked up so I don't know...
June 13, 201016 yr Is that the international student card? I got one from my university during the year :) Definately handy to have to get student and youth discounts. Not stupid, I don't think anyone mentioned it. i'd make sure that one works for that -ask your youth institution or uni there-. :) i'm glad i helped a bit.

Whoooo this took a long time to work out. We're checking out hostels/places to stay and really need some help with it! I'm also a bit stuck....opinions, would you rather stay in Amsterdam or Barcelona longer?
June 17, 201016 yr Author It's pretty exciting planning it! We're still looking for the top attractions to see while we're visiting places. You guys are from all over, spread some ideas! I'm in a debate if I should spend more time in Amsterdam or Barcelona.
June 17, 201016 yr I've been to Amsterdam so many times I lost track. I like it there, but I would stay longer in Barcelona.
June 17, 201016 yr who will the catalans be supporting at the world cup? I few have been following Spain, but the most shirts have been for Argentina Chile and the biggest following amongst the locals has been the vulezas ! neeeeee ! BTW well done Ian ... for reconising Catulyuna is not spain !
June 17, 201016 yr Author I've been to Amsterdam so many times I lost track. I like it there, but I would stay longer in Barcelona. Yeah, we decided to stay longer in Barcelona. :) Most people I spoke with seemed to lean towards it. BTW I will PM you personal guide to Barcelona ! I'd love that! :D We're in the process of booking hostels. I'm so glad all the flights are finally booked. It makes everything seem so much more real!
June 17, 201016 yr I suppose it's nice to visit the tourist attractions etc but overall I don't feel it's a city to go to over others. Barcelona is lovely, as is Rome,Amsterdam is nice but I thought it was over expensive too. Also everyones overlooked Moscow. Amsterdam is expensive? :awesome: Depends what you're buying.
June 18, 201016 yr I love amsterdam!! I'm actually going to be there the 28th july too Amanda! If you're staying in a hostel there, you've gotta stay in the flying pig! Amazing! We usually stay in the one beside vondell park and you're pretty central there. There's lots of tramlines that'll bring you pretty much all over! Sounds like an amazing trip though so have fun!!

June 22, 201016 yr Author Fifi! Amsterdam was the only place we actually booked a hotel instead of a hostel because it turned out to be cheaper! :P I heard about the flying pig from another friend, but they look all booked up! We're staying at Eden Lancaster Hotel in Amsterdam, it looks pretty decent. Been really busy buying a bunch of stuff. I'm spending so much money just in preperation for my trip!
June 28, 201015 yr Author Anyone want to explain to me how transit in London works?:P I'm there for 3 days, what's my best option? Is the tube, trams, busses, and DLR connected or do I need to pay seperate fares? How do transfers work (time, direction) How does backtracking work (i.e. I go one direction then want to head in the opposite direction)? It's so confusing trying to figure it out:stunned: Also, if anyone wants to give me transit tips on any other places I'm visiting please feel free. :D Oh, I'm also going to see the Lion King when I'm in London. So excited!
