Wedding Bells "the beginning of a story kind of thing"

Featured Replies

I just re-read the lyrics, and since they're making stuff up, why not me!

Here's my storyline:

A man lost his love (NOT Chris) years ago and now there is "wedding bells"! She's (insert name here) moving on so he (the man who lost his love) has to "swallow the bitter pill".

[There is a disconnect here in the storyline, but what the hell, I'll fill in the blank --- the man must have tried to get to the love at some point without success].

He wants her to forget what happened/how it happened because now that his life is in shamble "caked in mud", he's realizing that since he can't have her, he wants her to know that "he loves her and always will".

Who are the two former lovers? My overactive imagination is overdrive, LOL.

a gift for his friend Magne story maybe... ? :uhoh2:

wow that's incredibly fantastic of the media to do, and I have to wonder if Chris is now regretting putting himself and a new song in the spotlight as he did. in the midst of an album someone might not take notice, but he put it out for interpretation. i sort of feel like he didn't give it much consideration...really unfortunate the media would act this way.

although to speak to someone asking if vlvdaahf was a story album, i can't see how it would be. there are certain things repeated, and the band sort of talked about the story aspect, but it clearly didn't come out much. the "soldier" storyline from violet hill and perhaps in prospekt's march were pretty muddled...i can't see the band attempting to say they really went hard for any story angle.

although, perhaps chris was just speaking to the song as someone mentioned. although the way he described it, it didn't seem like he was speaking to the song alone. he brought up the "who knows where it will end" type thing, and that's all that made me think of a story album. like this song was just a starter.

BUT WHO KNOWS. not me. i just love the story album idea!

You know, you'd think the press would get fed up of making comments about their marriage...

Oh wait, they have nothing better to do

Where could I hear it? I can't find a link of it anywhere. Would I have to watch all the apple video?

^Nah, Chris and Jonny are just pulling our legs with the bromance because it amuses the fans. And that's too obvious...

I really cant wait for LP5

I really hope it's not on the next album (at least in the form it's in*)...nice inspiration, but it's just about the most formulaic 'song' I've ever heard from Chris - I simply can't believe he played this rather than further exploring some of the ideas from Prospekt's March - the title song or, say, Glass of Water (not my favourite even) as piano solos anyone? :\ The very fact he did play it worries me deeply...

* Unfortunately I can't see any other form, the structure seems set in stone. Basic songwriting 101 in my book, not good :(

Oh man....Im sure they arent breaking up...it's just a song! I dont think Chris would put this in a song............

After reading The Telegraph article my first thought was 'Oh dear, jealousy if an awful thing.' Just take no notice of it, it's a load of crap.

And I think a story album would be fantastic. Like I wrote on WikiColdplay, it seems that if Wedding Bells is included on the album then it'll probably the first track since Chris said that it's 'the start of a story.' Great song though, the album version will most likely be on guitar like The South Bank Show version. It has the potetnial to sound brilliant with the rest of the band playing on it too.

I completely agree with you. Pleeeeease let this not be the final form of the song...

Anyone else read the article by a technology expert in The Daily Telegraph absolutey tearing into Coldplay, or Chris Martin to be more accurate. I read it and the only thing I gathered from it was that the writer, called Milo Yiannopoulos (strange name for a strange guy) is sexually frustrated at not being able to get laid. Judging by his photo then he obviously is finding it hard to even talk to girls.

^ hahahah :laugh3:

I send him some interesting insults by twitter :D

he deserved them,he didnt answer of course

^ http://twitter.com/Nero

look at that fake

I hate this guy

The geek should stick to wanking over the latest Ipad rather than commenting on music. Given that he sits in front of a computer all day thinking the latest anti virus software release is the moment of the centure....he's probably a Radiohead fan.

I mean...they were photographed together, like, yesterday.

I'm not worried about their marriage, but whatever happens happens I suppose. All I really care about is the fact that "Wedding Bells" is a beautiful piece of music, and regardless of its meaning it will always be exactly that.

Am I the only one who doesn't see this song as a 'break up' song??? I think its rather lovely... I think its a song of surviving a 'bitter time' and having that 'love' with you for the rest of your life... 'loving before you even knew it was possible' kind of love....

am I kookoo? Or seeing the glass half full.. lol
