Did anyone else catch this? The idea Chris expressed of Wedding Bells being the beginning of a story, in album form.

 

I'm absolutely geeking out right now because a story album would be the coolest thing to me. And if this is the case, with or without Wedding Bells, I'd be ecstatic.

 

I'm wondering if anyone else would be into this? Or perhaps people didn't even think it was much of a statement to hang on.

 

I don't know. Also, I'm really amazed Wedding Bells has found it's way this far into the future. Not because it's quality, but I guess I didn't think it'd make it this far. Silly me :rolleyes:

I do remember this, but at that point in time I didn't really know. And with all the misinformation coming from Roadie 42, I got thrown off the track. But this is great!

I think weddings bells is for Jonny, i remember we heard it just before Jonny's getting married. Chris is sad because of Jonny's wedding, he must just think that their bromance is really finished now, but his love for him is still intact. It's my opinion.

I didn't take it as a 'story line' for the upcoming album.. but more like an explanation for the song it self. The story of the beginning of a relationship with the person whom you'd spend the rest of your life with (whether in matrimony or not)- but again, thats just me...

 

I love Chris' writing.. he's a great storyteller.

One listen to the lyrics and anyone inclined to believe the rumors might take them as proof positive of an imminent split, or, perhaps as a wry comment on their absurdity. Or both. Or neither.

 

The urgent piano ballad opens with the ominous lines, "Those wedding bells are ringing up upon that hill/ And I don't want to swallow such a bitter pill/ You keep on moving, but I stay still/ But I always loved you and I always will," before diving into even deeper territory. Martin described it as the beginning of a story "that starts sadly, but that's the way these things [inaudible]."

I just re-read the lyrics, and since they're making stuff up, why not me!

 

Here's my storyline:

 

A man lost his love (NOT Chris) years ago and now there is "wedding bells"! She's (insert name here) moving on so he (the man who lost his love) has to "swallow the bitter pill".

 

[There is a disconnect here in the storyline, but what the hell, I'll fill in the blank --- the man must have tried to get to the love at some point without success].

 

He wants her to forget what happened/how it happened because now that his life is in shamble "caked in mud", he's realizing that since he can't have her, he wants her to know that "he loves her and always will".

 

Who are the two former lovers? My overactive imagination is overdrive, LOL.

But the point is that the only one believing all the wicked things written in there is the author himself, who clearly hates Coldplay and Chris as first.

So, let's just ignore this stuff.
