U2's first festival appearance since live aid?

well if you're calling live aid a festival then so is live8 which they performed at in 2005.

but aside from those two i can't think of when they last played a festival.

Forgot about Live 8 :P

IIRC they played some American festival in the early 90s

Over here Coldplay and U2 play very big outdoor stadiums sold out. Beyonce played Staples Center not sold out. Eventhough she is big here, she must be much bigger in England.

Ticket re-sale update from Glasto website:

Ticket resale update

18 February 2011

A lot of you have been getting in touch to ask about the upcoming ticket resale, so we thought we'd post a little update. The resale is likely to be in mid-April after people have had chance to pay their balances. At the moment, it doesn't look like there will be too many cancelled tickets to go back on sale, though.

We'll let you know firm details of the resale well in advance, here on the official site.

Yeah, but the week in which people have got to pay the balance hasn't happened yet, so whom knows how many people will forget to pay up that week in April?

so they got the "two biggest bands" and i really don't mind beyonce headlining anymore. a bit of variety doesn't hurt.

2 Guitar led bands and a high-level "pop"-artist

Good mix.

Remember Sunday is known as locals day where some of the locals whom get day-tickets come and visit the site so a nice pop-artist is good for them.

R.E.M. to headline the other stage one night?

More line-up announced

In a new interview with the Guardian, Emily has announce 13 more acts who'll be performing at this year's Festival. They are (in alphabetical order):

- Anna Calvi

- BB King

- Big Boi

- The Chemical Brothers

- Crystal Castles (pictured)

- Friendly Fires

- Fleet Foxes

- Gruff Rhys

- James Blake

- Janelle Monae

- Mumford & Sons

- Primal Scream

- Warpaint

These acts are in addition to the previously-announced Pyramid Stage headliners, U2, Coldplay and Beyoncé.

i hope this time they don't put fleet foxes on the main stage. it really didn't work last time.

oooooooooooooooh bb king :awesome:

High up if not a Headliner on the west holts stages.

Elbow to either headline the other stage or be 2nd on the pyramid stage me thinks

Has the Sunday afternoon slot on the Pyramid been announced? Usually it's some classic icon as Neil Diamond, Shirley Bassey and Ray Davies have done that one in recent years I believe.

they usually don't release timetable until about May do they? i think the full line up is still about a month away.

If it's like last year the full-ish line-up will come out early May time, with the actual stage times to come out nearer the festival.

  • 1 month later...

Resale is this Sunday.

I'm guessing they had quite a few cancellations by releasing the full line-up early.

Really? They made it sound like there would hardly be any left a little while ago.

Not that it really matters to me, since I'm not going.

How many people must have just forgot to pay the balance in that one week?
