... how as a kid you desperately want to be in adult, and then when you're grown up you really want to be a child again?

i was thinking about this today. i remember when i was 9 years old i always wanted to be like 16, and when i was 16 i couldn't wait to finally turn 18.

now i'm 24 and i would love to be 10 again. no worries about money, no commitments, many friends with the same interests, not being afraid of what's to come in the future...

oh well. it's weird how things sometimes turn out, eh? :\

I'm 15 but I Wanna be 6 again :blank:

hmmmmm

I must admit that there never was an age where I thought I wanted to be older or younger....I mean I'd love to be in Kindergarten again haha, but on the other hand I like my age at the moment

there are always advantages and disadvantages...

i hated that my brother was always allowed to do things i wasn't allowed to. he's five years older than me. so i guess that's why i always wanted to be older ;)

I was rarely like that when I was younger, I never minded being young.

Even for me now at 18, I don't want to grow up or make life choices :uhoh:

Not if it's not true. I don't want to be a kid as much as I didn't want to be an adult as a child (Discounting when you get to the age when you want to drink and get into clubs).

I never wanted to grow up when I was younger :uhoh:

I do wish I could be a kid again though, being old and having responsibilities and worries and such really does suck :disappointed:

It's not weird because everybody thinks the same. :blank:

I don't missing being a child, things got a lot better when I got older. I just wish could be 16 again, knowing what I know now.

Ditto. Exactly how I feel. Hell, I still feel 16! When in fact I'm almost ten years older... :wreck:

Same here.

I'm pretty sure everyone significantly over the age of 16 feels the same way.;)

Same here. I don't really consider myself an adult. A lot of people I went to school with get married and have kids and I still don't know what I want to do with my life.

You'll always feel like a kid because adulthood just became another side of who you really are. You may do adult things, act in a mature manner, but most people still have that childish side to them that doesn't go away, they just have to hide it some of the time.

I also don't feel any different from when I was 16, even though when you're 23 and kinda see 16 year olds as lil kids, when you think back to being 16 and things that happened, you don't feel like your world was any smaller, and sometimes have to remind yourself you were a dumb kid. You just learn how the world around you works, it doesn't change who you are.

I shoot bubbles from an automatic bubble gun and play with plastic ponies.

I don't know what you're talking about. :shifty:

I think part of it is what we remember, and what we forget. Since we often remember the good things (which were all new and exciting!) it seemed like the best of times to be young. But then there's the things we tend to forget - the anxiety attacks, the nightmares, the skinned knees and bee stings. Pluses and minuses at any age as I see it.

But it's true - we have what are called "second childhoods" at times because sometimes we need that break to revive us, to breath new life into our lives. It's natural - and a good thing!:P

It's just like how people with straight hair wants curly hair, and vice versa.

Leeves is right.

when I was a kid I enjoyed it; the only thing I had wanted to do but could not at that time was to wear my mom's jewelry and pick my own clothes.

now I don't feel the need to become older, whereas I'm not oblivious of the life's work ahead of me.

Totally right you know.. I'm 18.. and although my life isn't full of responsibilities, I always remember things I used to do at 6 or 7, such as watching disney movies :D, or listening to music my parents would listen, or hanging out with my grandma..

Later on, many shitty things happened ..

I think past times were happier in many ways, so do many others..

Anyway, the best thing to cope with it is to remind yourself you must live the moment ;). Maybe next month you'll be wanting revive this month.

I know what you mean.

For all my life i wanted to be older..Now i'm 17 i don't wanna grow up.

^ yeah that

but still, I don't like being 16 :disappointed:
