What qualities in a person can make or break having a friendship/relationship?

Featured Replies

I have feelings yknow! :bigcry:

As for the ex thing, kindof a fucked up situation. I originally met girl A as a friend, but liked her, she had a boyfriend, didn't get anywhere, met her best friend (girl B), then it worked. When we broke up girl A was single, after a few months girl B could tell there was a little bit of tension between me and girl A, and genuinely didn't seem to mind, and encouraged us to at least give it a go. I mean that's a pretty selfless act, I guess they weren't all bad. Girl A felt really awkward and didn't want to at first but after a while it started to feel normal.

What's actually ironic bout this is that girl A was the one who started to get jealous and paranoid about my friendship with girl B (as she was my ex afterall) and you'd think it would be the other way around.

Oh and yes a fuck buddy (I do HATE that term though!) except we aren't often at it. She is kindof awful, like arrogant as a person, but hot, funny, she's just aware that she's smarter and I suppose 'better' then people she'd look down on.

Sorry. :shame:

Hmmm.

Admit it - you were hoping for a threesome. :sneaky:

I dunno, it just seems strange to me. How long were you and girl B together though? Sounds like she wasn't overly heartbroken about it.

No offense - I'm sure girls usually end up in a crying heap for months after you break up with them.

I had a 'friend', when I was about 15, who asked me if things didn't work out with the guy I was with would I mind if she hooked up with him. :wtf:

And actually, about a year before that her older brother and I liked eachother and she gave us her blessing, but then got really jealous anytime we spent any time together - to the point where she wouldn't speak to me. :dozey:

As for the 'fuck buddy', can't you just find a nicer one?!

Haha, around 8 months? Uhhh when I broke up with her she moved away from the city back to her parents for about 3 months :uhoh: which was pretty extreme but I think she only cried about it 95% of that time :nice:. She did seemed heartbroken about the breakup as I initiated it a few months earlier then it happened and it was a long process of actually ending it.

So I think she was just mature about it, it wasn't really that long until she told us it's ok for us to go for it, and to be honest I'd probably do the same thing if my ex and my best friend clearly had an attraction, I'd also definitely feel embarrassed for being the thing that separates them.

It certainly isn't the "I came home to find my boyfriend and my best partner fucking" situation that it sounds like if I mention this fact to people, but usually they are a little bit like :wtf:.

Well that is fucked up! But the operative part- is that you were 15 haha. Not quite as shocking for a kid to say it. I didn't really take a relationship seriously until I was 17, and even then it took time. Before that it was all basically playground games and silly rumours. When you're an adult you realise that love can be really important and in the given situation I actually think a lot of mature people would eventually do what Girl B did.

I'll go pick one up at the fuck buddy store! I know this sounds weird but- for a very casual relationship she's kinda the best kind of fuck buddy, she's really funny and interesting, she's not too emotional (Apart from a brief patch but we didn't even argue or anything she just didn't want to see me) and most importantly she's not taking it too seriously and hasn't really pushed for the relationship to progress.

make: loyalty, sweetness, honesty, criativity (true), trust, tolerance, and love of course

break: unloyalty, intolerance, lies, lack of trust and of confidence.

Well that's a fairly substantial amount of time then.

Daaaaaammnn. You sure fucked her up good and proper!

Wtf? Why did it take so long to break up? That just makes it worse for everyone.

Yep, sure is. Ok so we were 15 - but still! :wtf:

Haha, yeah like getting your friend to ask a guy if he'll 'go out' with you. :P

Or was that just me?

You have fuck buddy stores?! :awesome:

Reilly, you're hawt. I'm sure you'd have no trouble finding a nicer one.

So I guess she's the best kind of fuck buddy in that she's there so that you can both have your needs satisfied - end of.

I think I loved her :anxious: but after 6 months you should maybe be sure of something like that, otherwise you begin to think you are wasting both people's time. So I wanted to end it but not concretely, and it was very hard for me too, because I loved spending time with her but wasn't convinced that we should carry on in a long lasting relationship because I couldn't see myself being madly in love, but she convinced me that we should try for a bit of a longer time.

You really need to work on sensitivity, maybe you like to tell it how it is, but it's not real fun for me to hear "You sure fucked her up good and proper!". Maybe you're made of super strong stuff, but anyone who isn't (like me) just feels like shit to hear something like that, because it's not just irrelevant forum crap I had to actually deal with this and your abruptness brings back bad memories. So yes, lul, I sure fucked her brain up good! Haha.

oh crap :disappointed:

^

haha I'm so lulz :uhoh:

haha yay! :awesome: I feel so special

Oh my God, Reilly.

Sweetie, I am so sorry. Fuck, I'm such a bitch!

I really didn't mean it the way it obviously came across. I'm a smartarse. I kinda read you as being a bit of a smartarse too, but looking at it now I really should've been more sensitive.

I really should just keep my big mouth shut.

I do think though that you can usually depend on your gut feelings.

And no, I'm not strong - I'm a fucking mess.

You seem like a sweet guy Reilly.

Again, I really am sorry.

I'd like to add being a stable person to my list of qualities required.

And they can't have over 10,000 posts on here.

Only have 532 posts. :wink3:

Oh wait - you said stable. :disappointed:

No problemo, apology accepted.

I work with someone emotionally unstable, never know what to expect. It's very annoying wondering if they'll yell at me or be extremely happy. Worse of all is when they have massive mood swing during the day. It's not pleasant when you need help with something and a customer is waiting and you have to deal with someone crazy.

maybe they're bipolar

Yeah she is. I don't know how she hasn't been fired. We get several complaints a week about her. She gets into fights with customers almost every day.

that's annoying.

for me, misunderstanding from your friend and does not make an effort of understand the situation break the frienship.

I know I should be friends with the right people, but I'm never choosy and I don't set specific attributes in having a friend.. maybe just a little. We just clicked and stuff...
