no, I don't think it's ok.

I have a problem with it, sometimes I say them & then I realize what I've said

I've got such a filthy mouth somedays, haha. :P But I try not to use 'em too frequently.

Yes I use swear words and sometimes my mum points out that I swear too much haha :wacky:. The words just kinda come out without me thinking about it. I dont swear because I'm angry or upset, it's cause I dont really mind people who swear I guess. I dont know, it just feels natural for me to use swear words sometimes. My friends dont mind it when I swear and I dont mind it when they swear. Hm.

This. I think it's okay, except when you're saying it directly to someone especially when you are angry.

edit: also, maybe not when you're in front of your parents or little bro/sis or kids. :wacky:

Some words are okay to use and others are not

Some words are okay, others are unacceptable though.

I only curse when I'm mad, like "Oh shit I forgot my homework." I don't agree with it when people curse at others though, like "You fucking asshole get out of my way."

i've never heard my parents swear. i can just imagine what my father's reaction will be if he hears us swear. :laugh3:

Some guys in my dorm are kindergarteners when it comes to language. What annoys me most is the whole deal of substituting words like 'fuck' and 'shit' for 'screw' and 'crap', which express the exact same ideas but are for some reason considered more appropriate. I understand it's rude and disrespectful to use the 'harsher' words around seniors or people of authority. But around people of your own age, there's no reason why anyone should take offense, particularly when said words aren't used to attack individuals, but to express one's own distress. People need to grow up.

what's worse is when they substitute words like "fudge" and "frick" for fuck

Fudge is terrible. I admit to using frick though, but that's because I don't want to get scolded or something. If you want to cuss, just cuss on. Using substitute words isn't gonna cover your reputation (well maybe a little), but if your intention is to spout foul language, then your intention is bad and replacing those words are kinda pointless.

Unless, you don't want to get into trouble.

I personally try my best not to use words like that too much because I think there are much better ways to say what I mean. For the most part, I only swear when I'm really upset or feeling a lot of some other extreme negative emotion. The only exception to that would be maybe if I was hanging around certain friends of mine who swear a bit. Really, my swearing has gotten worse since I graduated high school and started college. I'm working on that, though.

same here

I do swear a lot, I admit. And I suppose it really doesn't garner that good of a reputation.

It's nothing. It's so silly that people freak out over it. Especially adults that don't have children. I just want to strangle people who tell me not to curse.

I Can't help swearing it just slips out sometimes then I think Shit I just swore then Shit I Did it again and the cycle continues

But I Don't think it's alright to use really offensive swear words repeatedly at someone

It's many pepole that thinks that it's more ugly when a girl swears, then a boy, What does you think about it?

I've been cursing since 6th grade. :|

I'm trying to get out of the habit though. . . there's really no need to curse in the first place, but sometimes I just feel so much better after I curse a bit when I'm upset. :|

The thing is, people who swear at people all the time for little to no reason aren't offensive because of the words they're using, but because they're self-centered douchebags. Even if they weren't using 'offensive' words they would still be disliked because of their offensive character.

That's just stupid. :blank:

Since 6th grade? I didn't even know any swear words until I got to high school, let alone actually use them. Is that normal? :anxious:

Yeah, I do, too. Sometimes when my dad pulls one of his douche acts, I can't help but go to my room and swear up a storm. I end up feeling better afterwards. I guess it's because it's an emotional release for me.

Yeah, I know a person like that. Her swearing is pretty darn bad. Practically every other word that comes out of her mouth is a swear word. :/
