The George Carlin Appreciation Thread!

For me personally Carlin was very influential, he was my first introduction to atheism and he started me on this journey I have been on ever since!

a friend off mine introduced to carlin when we were in our 20's, been a fan since then and never looked back.

I think we've milked the appreciation, I can't stand this man.

I find him funny...

hard to believe with all he talks about and the cursing that he was Mr. Conductor for Thomas the Tank Engine

Never even heard of him.

Everyone's saying that but he is/was very famous influential, can't you at least watch one of the many videos posted and discover how crap he is?

Comedy like that isn't funny.

This thread is for people who already know about Carlin and who like him, if you don't like him then don't watch his stuff. Comedy is different for each and every person, just because you don't find something funny doesn't mean no one else should.

It would be really ironic if we weren't allowed to voice our opinions of George Carlin of all people.

Oh, I didn't see the "appreciation" in the title, thought it was just a George Carlin thread. :anxious:

BUMP

I love Carlin!! How can all these arrogant people here NOT like him? He speaks the truth!! :laugh3:

Some people have no sense of humor.

That's not humour though, it's an irritating bitter old man venting his vague unfounded sweeping generalisations and attempting to present them as comedy, and an audience of college kids hooting and wooping and going "He tells it like it is!" and "Stick it to the man!".

One of my favorite videos. I wouldn't call it LOL funny but he's got a point. I don't even think of him as a comedian. He's more of a witty, interesting speaker in my view.

A few other good videos:

"They count on the fact that Americans will remain willfully ignorant of the big red white and blue dick that's being jammed up their assholes every day. Because the owners of this country know the truth: It's called the 'American dream' because you have to be asleep to believe it."
