Anyone find themselves coming out of a Coldplay hibernation? Last year and a half or so they kind of went missing on my Ipod play count but are slowly creeping back in (bar the song Viva La Vida of course). I think I'm consciously preparing myself for the release of LP5, ready to compare and contrast!

 

Oh and I would expect an announcement on Coldplay at Glastonbury, along with U2, sometime after Christmas.

Yep. I stopped listening to them for several months after the VLV tour ended, but I've started listening to a few of their songs the past few weeks. Well, actually, more like only two of their songs. They're definitely creeping back in for me, though.

 

I think once they announce the official release date of LP5, I'll be back into Coldplay mode. :P

I have never had a coldpklay Hibernation, I literally listen to them all the time! I listen to other artists too though

 

I tried to go a week without listening to the band or reading anything about them, suffice to say I caved after around 3 days! haha

I went into hibernation for a few months until a week ago I listened to all 111 Coldplay songs that I have on shuffle.

Funny things:

Viva re-mix followed by Viva

The Hardest Part live followed by another live version

Live 2003 Politik followed by studio GPASUYF

The last song was 2003 Clocks

I tend to drift in and out of hibernation with Coldplay.

For instance, there are songs that come on shuffle that I'll skip

but there are songs that I could never skip (like 'A Message' for example).

I haven't listened to coldplay in months, I mean not all the time, just random songs once in a while and parachutes like once a month. I think that will change when they release LP5 but if I don't like it I'll go back to my coldplay hibernation until they release LP6

 

It's just that there is so much great music these days and so little time to listen all the things I enjoy :bomb:

I never really stopped listening to them, really. I think maybe last year was my "Coldplay hibernation" period, since I seemed to had given them a rest after 2008 excitement and would listen to them less often. I listen to other bands too and sometimes I listen more to one band and then the next month I have a thing for another one and listen to that one more, but I listen to Coldplay quite often. I'll try not to ruin the new album for me by getting obsessed with it :\

last year for me was all abt muse

and this year was abt editors as i was busy with the muse album when ITLOTE was released

I havent listen to them in months. Only when a song comes when my iPod is on shuffle.

But my fan mood will turn on once the new album is out.

I've listened to them non-stop since January this year but I guess I've been in hibernation since September time and Started listening to other stuff which I haven't had chance to during that time.

I was in a coldplay hibernation...im listening to them now once again...but the hibernation helped me listen to more bands like Franz Ferdinand and Mew...When LP5 comes out...oh boy :p

sometimes I get bored of the same songs even if they're so beautiful but sometimes you get bored of the same melody-same lyrics-same beats...

but you never really get bored of Coldplay because of coldplaying... so I think it's just that...

i think when i was younger i would have been more conscious of if i'd been in a coldplay hibernation than i am now - i listen to a lot more music so it's hard to notice when i've not listened to the band in a while.

 

that said, i've definitely been consistently listening to them since VLV was released. after X&Y i sort of said goodbye for a year or so, but VLV has kept me interested. i suppose Prospekt's also came out and that's been the source of some favorites.

 

it would have been very hard for coldplay to leave my rotation after VLV though, because so many of the songs echoed things going on in my life.
