stratocaster guitar

Featured Replies

Hello again :)

Does anyone know about fender stratocasters? They are obviously quite expensive & high quality, but should the knobs/switches feel cheap to move? Are the knobs normally tight to turn before clicking and then stopping?

I dont know much about strats, just looking for soome info on whats normal and what isn't. Any help is much appreciated.

There are a lot of fake Strats out there so watch out for that.. I wouldn't have though the knobs should feel cheap or difficult to move...

Fake strats? :stunned: It was an American standard, had a fancy sticker confirming it. How do you tell a fake from the real deal?

Fake as in there are lots of replicas, not necessarily people trying to pull the wool over your eyes. Is it brand new? That might explain why the knobs are stiff..

I own a brand-new Fender Strat 70s Reissue. It's very reliable for that bright, crisp, twangy tone.:)

I haven't bought it, just hanging out for one (excitedly). But interesting thought on the knobs being stiff perhaps because they're new... Thanks very much for the help :)

I have a Fender Strat, and I love it!

My knobs usually just turn with ease.. but Maybe it's the plastic underneath them making them stiff to move? I can't think of much else :P

eww strats are so ugly

At least they're light and don't turn you into a hunchback.:laugh3:

I have a 1st edition John Mayer American Strat and it's one of the nicest sounding guitars I've ever played. All of my tone and volume nobs feel sturdy to me.

It's great for Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Mayer (obviously), Red Hot Chili Peppers..anything like that it's perfect.

Strats are lovely, but I prefer Telecasters. Always liked their look and signature twang better.

The knobs on mine turn easily, they don't feel stiff, also thier by far my favourite guitar to play.

I like Teles too, I sold mine for a Jaguar and am beginning to regret it alot:cry:.

So I've bought the guitar with the dodgy knobs...and now have to send it away to be fixed :(

Oh well.

eww strats are so ugly

Prettiest and nicest guitar to play ever for me:P, I personally find LPs ugly and heavy with horrible thick necks and one ugly ass headstock, doesn't mean I don't respect them as an instrument though, if I had to have a Gibson it would be an Explorer on looks alone.
