If you like it then thats great. I used to love Coldplay went to all their gigs etc even met Chris and i liked some of the VLV stuff. To me however, their latest stuff is getting too bland and boring.It doesn't really interest me anymore. But they're a massive band and have loads and loads of fans so i am in the minority. I still read all their lastest news and wait for their new songs with interest and i really hope their new album is great.

I'm afraid the fame can ruin their unique zest. And there might be some fans who don't appreciate the early Coldplay, that's a pitty.

I just remember listening to all their earlier stuff,b-sides etc and on the 1st listen "not getting the song" then after 100 listens it got better and better and i absolutely loved it. Now i listen to a new song and i think "ive heard this 100 times before" and im bored with it after a few listens. Perhaps ive just gotten older and have moved on rather than them being bad now.I dont know.

no and its only my opinion and what do i know? but Coldplay lost me a lot during VLV and this new song just continues their new bland sound.Its only my opinion though.

 

Well Everythings Not Lost Mr. Choldplayer, if they "Lost" you during the Viva era, then maybe LP5, "Your feet won't touch the Ground", because "God put a smile upon your face", so "Don't Panic", "Life is worth Living" and I believe this next LP will make you "Shiver":D

The first time I listened to it...it was so, so...the 5 or 6 times after...I really really like it. Tells a great story.

Even if Chris writes a whole song by himself he still gives equal writing credit to Will, Jonny, and Guy. So you will never see a song with just one of their names. They all share the credit.

yeah that's true.... but is not because Chris "gives" the credits ...

I mean ... Chris is the major composer of the band ... but the guys writes their lines .... i mean .. Chris don't write basslines for example... each one do their stuff ...

and even cooperate with Chris when he's not available to finish a song or something ... they're a band .... Coldplay is 4, Chris can't do everything ... even when he's the leader ....

I think Christmas Lights is GREAT ...!!! I can't stop listening. They are diferent now, of course... people change ... and that's great, because they still keep showing that they are the best band of the world :dozey:

Chris wrote the song, that should be obvious to any coldplay fan. I think its a good song, the only thing I don't like is the weird echo during the chorus and I don't know why they used a muslim minaret and a dome during the video. Thats about it, I love love love the intro the most.
