What exactly do you mean by ordering through HMV?

 

That just makes me think of the $70 Mew cd they have there because they have to bring it in from somewhere else. :|

I go into HMV and when I can't find the album I want I ask the counter guy if they have it. He types on his computer for a while and if the cd isn't hiding in the store somewhere they can order it directly from the distributor. He takes my phone # and calls me a week or two later to come pick it up. It always costs the regular full amount for a cd on the shelf- so about 18 or 20$.

 

I use a video converter for all the songs I get.

All of the music on my iTunes, with the exception of Apparatjik's album (the only reason I even have that legally is because the digital album came free if you bought a physical copy of it), is illegally downloaded.

 

I don't feel too bad about it. I buy CDs/vinyl whenever I can (I own about 70 now) plus I give them money to go see their concerts, and sometimes to buy t-shirts or something. I have close to 4,000 songs on my iTunes, there's no way I could ever earn enough money to pay for it all.

I do all three. Mainly iTunes/amazon mp3, but on occasion I download it in a not so legal way, and on occasion I order it online.

Usually I just buy single songs or b-sides/live songs from iTunes. Other than that I buy the cd or pirate it. Being a music blogger makes life a little easier for getting albums.

Only time Ive ever had poor sound quality is when I converted Starlight but the video I got the song from was terrible to begin with.

 

The rest works great.

My dad won't let me buy online and we don't have enough money to buy so many albums, so I need to download them illegaly.

 

I'd never buy it online unless I wanted a physical copy.

Anyway to answer the question I do all three; mostly pay for downloads on amazon's mp3 store, tho usually only when the price drops down below a fiver, I hate paying full price for 'em. For a new album from one of my fave bands I generally order the cd online somewhere for release day. I'll occasionally d'load an album the naughty way, specially if it's a band I've just discovered and I can't get it on amazon/itunes. And a lot of the time I'll borrow a cd from the library and rip it to my pc when I got home, costs 80p. Total win! :cheesy:

 

I hardly ever buy cds in an actual real-life record store you know, dunno why...guess I can't be arsed going into the big town and they're bloody expensive that way anyway. :shrug:

That way if you ever get tired of listening to the music you can resell the CD online, where you can't with downloads
