I don't really like either to be honest, though I voted for the black and white one as that's the one I have and knew about long before I saw the spirals one.

I've never seen the spirals one before, but I like the ass one better anyhow.

That ass art looks so amateur.

Yeah it was a quick decision :P

On a sort of relevant note...I am listening to the album for the first time right now! My god it's good so far! I can't believe I haven't listened to it before!

awesome! but here's the real test. why do you like it? i've listened to it dozens and dozens of times and still can't put my finger on why i love it so much.

I wonder if anyone really knows? It's my second favorite album ever and I still don't!

I feel like I have pretty concrete reasons why I love it so much, but I guess maybe they're not easy to articulate, or sensical to other people.

I talk a lot, so I put it under a spoiler.

Part of the reason I love it so much is that it sounds so classic even though it's fairly recent (or it was a new release when I fell in love with it, anyway). It sounds like it was recorded in the 70s, it sounds like an old record of your parents' that you dig out of the attic and are intrigued by it so you play it and it sounds like crack, and I think that's a pretty cool feat to accomplish without it coming out sounding contrived or copycatish. If you just listened to the music, without knowing who wrote it or when, I think it would be hard to pinpoint it to a date, and I think that's awesome. At the time it was released, there wasn't much like it on the market in terms of recent music, so it gained a lot of attention, and I think rightfully so. It's quality all the way through, if you ask me, no dud tracks at all. I like it because it's "hard rock" (for lack of a better term), but it's still melodic and beautiful. It's badass sounding, but deep--once you really listen to the lyrics, it doesn't just sound like party music anymore. To me, it also somehow encapsulates the time and place it was written--it just sounds like early 2000s NYC to me, pre-9/11, pre-iPods and 3G phones and 24-hour news on steroids. It also reminds me of that fall of 2001 (I'm from around NYC) and all the craziness and sadness that came out of that September, but not in a bad way. It sounded so retro to me, so much from the past that we were rocketing out of at an alarming pace, but it was also comforting to know that it wasn't really from the past, it was from the present, and maybe not everything was changing and becoming paranoid and futuristic. That last part sounds so cheesy, but I don't know how else to put it.

And as bad as it sounds to say, I was also completely fascinated by the bandmembers as people. I saw them in the "Last Nite" video at eleven years old and I was like "they look like they smell and don't give a shit about anything, and the lead singer is drunk out of his mind, but dang, there's something about these guys that is intriguing."

It's just an album full of good music. None of the songs drag on...there are no long songs. It's just....good. I've listened to it twice through now.

Which morons didn't vote for the 'proper' one?

By far the better one.

One of the best of all time.

^Omg this !

I can't believe the bubble one is winning. People are such puritans it's sad.

I don't really care since both don't do much to me, but I'd vote for the "ass" one since it is still fucking up my mind (yes I am still seeing a knee and a hand...I can't help it...probably because the ass looks rather skinny) and it is the one you get around here
