How far would you travel for a concert?

Featured Replies

Wow, so many voted for >100 !

Me too. I have driven to Berlin and Brussels for concerts. Have taken a bus to Paris for a concert. Have flown to Copenhagen for concerts, have even flown to New York for a-ha's last concert over there (this doesn't really count, because a good friend lives over there and so I could see here again too). I guess I'm old enough and have the money and most important ... I also DO IT. :awesome:

If I had the money and could drive I would go pretty much anywhere ...

I guess I'm fairly lucky that I'm about 50 miles away from Newcastle and Leeds but even still my parents won't take me and a lot of bands seem to miss out Newcastle and Leeds on their tours so I'd probably have to travel to Manchester which is around 100 miles.

Sorry for being offtopic...

kat, are you the same one as on the Apparatjik forum?

If so, I am dyyyying to know who the artist is on the second song of your mixtape. Please, let us know.

Yes that's me

Wiiiiiiiie, thank you!

"And then I'd walk 500 more." :awesome:

Oh just to be the man who'd walk 1000 miles

It would practically depend on my economical situation atm

Though i have traveled over 2000k to see coldplay

To fall down at your door

da-da-da-daaaaa...

I don't count with miles but I've been to Brussels to see U2 and that was far :blank:

but when I can and may I'll go everywhere to see my favourite bands

If I've got the car... Then I tend to not really factor in how far the place is... If I don't have the car, I tend to look at how long the journey will take and how much the transport will be. If I have the money then I go for it.

The furthest I've travelled so far is about 100 miles to Kings of Leon.

The furthest I've travelled was to the other side of the country which was about 340 miles away. But usually I have to travel to London which is 150 miles as that's the closest where any good bands play to where I live. :\

But yeah, if I was old enough to drive and had money, then I would travel anywhere.

Yossarian lives in a city which is a non-city, so when he wants to MAKE LOVE AND LISTEN TO THE MUSIC he must travel to either London or Brighton. He lives between the two. Brighton is maybe 60 miles from here, London is maybe 40. Yossarian does not know the geography well.

I had a 11 hours flight last year ...

I went 800 kilometers to see Mew once.

I've gone over the pond, but it was paid for:) Flew to Vegas to see Aerosmith. I live in Florida, and have driven about 300/400 miles probably. I am the same as you Carrie, I live 20 mins. away from The Amway Center, huge venue for concerts and about a stones throw from The University of Central Florida, Katy Perry is coming to UCF in a few months.

I have/will travel to Auckland for bands I really care about. I went to Coldplay there, lol. It's an 8 hour drive or something ;-; but only a 1 hour flight. (too bad domestic flights in NZ are really expensive. it's ridiculous)

I would travel to Australia to see Radiohead, I think. No one else though.

For Coldplay- to the ends of the Earth.:)

I would simply walk into Mordor to see coldplay :p

haha im pretty sure i would do ANYTHING to see coldplay live

I am lucky and live in Houston so most bands play here. That being said, for bands i really like I usually do their Texas dates which generally consist of Houston and Dallas, sometimes Austin. Houston to Dallas is 500 mile round trip. I have rules about driving. San Antonio-Dallas-New Orleans, that's my driving range. If a show is farther away than that, I need to be on a plane. :P I have traveled a lot to see Coldplay.

Doing Arcade Fire in Chicago in April because I can't be waiting for them to come here plus it's a two show deal. Traveling for two shows always worth the trip. ;)

:D Angie makes Rick Steves' look like a pussy.

When does your travel how to book hit the stands ?

Soon as that advance from the publisher comes through. :P

On usually Thursday Ticketmaster sends out there here's what's on sale emails. I get them for Houston, Dallas, San Antonio/Austin, Arizona, Cleveland, Indy, Chicago, Washington DC, Philly, Northern Florida, Orlando, Birmingham, Mexico and the UK.
