Their debut album came out summer 2010 and it is just fabulous! Every song is short and catchy, very summer. ~*~ Love it ~*~

They also recently played Letterman

Anyway discuss :dazzled:

I love that album

Was my 3rd or 4th favourite album of 2010? soo goood~~~~

I like their earlier EP's. Just like the album but lo fi...more like wavves

Them and Wavves are coming down to Australia, but not New Zealand :(

I love Best Coast. And as an added bonus, Bethany is pretty sexy :charming:

Ehhh. I'm not sure if this is really my cup of tea. I kinda got annoyed after I heard the line "When I'm with you, I have fun" a copious amount of times.

Nobody would like this kind of music if it's taken too seriously.

What are you implying, exactly?

I'm just saying it's hard to like this kind of music if you go too much into detail with it, instead of just listening to it because it's fun or whatever, but yeah, I see that sentence is kind of annoying.

I wasn't even trying to be analytical about it. I merely stated that the line was in there a lot, and lines that are repeated that much in one song kinda annoy me.

well that's true, it's just simple summer music, I like it because it's very catchy and fun :wacky: The other day I went to the beach and listened to this album on my ipod and it was perfect

After not loving certain bands, I think I'm convinced that I'm just not a fan of surf rock. That's what Best Coast is, right?

Basically. Bethany calls it a tribute to it, so yeah I guess it is. But it's sort of like surf rock with a modern feel to it, because it's a bit edgier. But it is definitely surf rock in the sense that it's supposed to be fun.

 fucking amazing

Nono it's not surf rock. It's summery and stuff but it's definitely not surf rock.

Oh? What would you call it, then, if you had to call it something?

I've had one of the songs stuck in my head all day and I can't remember what it is. :|

It's kind of like 60's pop or something? it's a little indie but not so much. I dunno. It's hard to explain. I'm not very good with genres.

People, I've never listened to this band (probably tomorrow I will :P) But music in general doesn't need labels. Just listen to it, enjoy it. Don't worry about what genre you're going to put on iTunes or whatever.

RANT OVER. :escaping:

Hey, it's all good, Eddie. Genres (particularly sub-genres) aren't necessarily black and white like that.

The whole '60s pop thing does make sense. I know that I really got that sort of vibe from "Boyfriend."

Um. Nobody said that music needed labels. I merely asked how Best Coast could be classified, since there was some debate in terms of that issue. I think you read way too much into what I said.
