April 8, 201115 yr Author greg your youtube playlist links don't work How do I make one ? I know how to make playlist on youtube , I have a shit load, but are they public ? How do I link them ? Crap. Well my technique was to click 'play all' on my playlist and then copy the address from that, but it doesn't appear to be working. I'll try simply a link to the playlist itself. Might be wiser. Cheers for the headsup.

April 8, 201115 yr You know I really want to get into Green Day because they have some great songs. I tried their latest album, 21st Century Breakdown and only listened to it twice after feeling it was the most disappointing album of that year. The album was overly long, they seemed to be writing the same kind of song throughout and overall was just noisy. What did I expect? Well, for an album that was said to be based on narrative, something diverse. Some rocky, up beat punk music with some classical, melodic stuff. It kind of delivered on those things but only in a way that an album on the top 20 charts would allow. I really want to like these guys but I just can't, it simply doesn't speak to me. From Green Day (judging on what I hear on the radio), I was anticipating a band with the sound that brings together the likes of R.E.M and Oasis. Frankly, 21st Century Breakdown just sounded like a Blink 182 double album.
April 8, 201115 yr ^I want a real playlist  haha alright alright... http://www.youtube.com/playlist?p=B18E5263068357C5 better? :P
April 9, 201115 yr I'd probably be the same about Radiohead. I recognise their talent and intrigue and their albums but they just cannot grip me or hit me in the heart. Muse is another band which I wish I could like but I feel are just very samey and even boring at times. Muse is at the top of my list for bands i wish I could like. Incredible musical talent. Its the lyrics that are the deal-breaker for me. I just feel like they have one thing to say and one way to say it... and tons of songs to display almost the same message. Its all very absolute and decisive and final and political. There's only so many songs about "the system" and "death" I can take. Its almost as if I can expect how their next album is going to go, lots of insane guitar licks, lots of keyboard arpeggios, and can bet that there wont be a single song that doesn't sound like MUSE on it. They have too distinct of a sound, and every song displays that same aura. Is that by choice? is that to please the fans? or is that because they don't want to branch out? because they're totally capable of writing the greatest country song of all time... just saying... If their lyrics weren't in english, I would probably listen to them. i once looked up Sigur Ros lyrics, and it ruined my day.

They seem so full of energy but it just feels a bit exhaustive after a while because it's a bit too samey at times. A bit too familiar after a while. But hellishly talented though.
April 9, 201115 yr one thing I've always dreamed of is to one day see a Dueling Pianos rendition between Matthew Bellamy and Ben Folds. Speaking of piano duels...
