So I was at the Bakery...

Featured Replies

Note: I'm posting this here because I think it could be bigger than just a normal fan sighting...although only slightly.

So I decide after nearly a year in London I have to take a pilgrimage to the Bakery. I arrive and sit down on the bench across from the studio, ready for some Coldplay spotting, when an old Irish fellow sits down next to me. We had a nice old chat for half an hour or so, during which I saw Phil leave the studio heading somewhere.

Eventually, the old guy left and I was able to return to more pressing matters. I have to admit I was kind of worried I'd only see Phil, not because it would only be Phil, but because I missed my opportunity to talk to him and ask him some questions.

Well, I ended up seeing the whole band one by one and they were all heading into vans. For about an hour or so, a few vans pulled up and took various members of the crew or staff somewhere with boxes, some guitars (cases at least) and so on. I'm not sure what was in all the boxes, but they were throw together kind of haphazard.

So the first band sighting was Will and Johnny walking over to the studio and I almost missed them. They stood outside the studio (but near it) and I can't really say what they were up to. I then saw Chris cross the street and we made a sort of awkward eye contact for a second or two. Which was kind of cool, but as I'm into women it wasn't cool in that way. Eventually, the whole band comes out and they're with a few women who I didn't recognize (I don't know what their wives/girlfriends look like) but seemed like staff.

They all piled into the vans with a few small bags, such that it didn't appear they were heading to any airport or anything. I'm not sure what they were up to, but the urgency of it all made it seem like they might be heading to a video shoot. I don't know where else the band would be going like that, but it'd be awfully cool if I had seen that.

Either way, apologies if this should be in The Bakery thread. I just thought everyone might want to know that the band looked pretty busy and it didn't seem like it had much to do with the festivals. I could be wrong, but I think we might be pretty close to some big news.

(might eventually move it to the Bakery thread but it's okay to have it separate for now)

:surprised:

something kewl about to happen, I agree with you

edit: maybe we'll have a cool hypnofeed soon...

I hope it's for a video shoot. :wideeyed: :awesome:

Seriously. I would be the happiest girl in the world if they realeased a song next Monday on my birthday. :wideeyed:

You didn't manage to speak to any of them, then?

:o

A shame you didn't talk to them!!

Thanks for putting this in a new thread

What about 1st video of the 1st single ?? :o

Cause I can't think of another thing...

Sounds very interesting!

An interesting developement! Maybe this means that the new single is right around the corner.

Maybe they went rehearsing in an empty arena (Wembley Arena or something?)/larger studio or something?

Thanks 4 the info!!

^That's what I thought too. Hmmm, especially the the gigs coming up.

Hey footiefan...I could be wrong but aren't you the one who was on "The Boat" for Christmas Lights and complained about it? :thinking:Hope they don't ask you to be in the next video...:laugh3::rolleyes:

btw, when did this took place?

Ok,but why they need to rehearsal the songs that they already know???

Plus they can reherse in studio

To get used to the environment of stadiums. Just imagine playing in a band of mates in your living room, and then to a crowd of 60,000. Its going to take a lot of hard work, from the band and the roadies, what with countless wires and crap.

Coldplay just before their promotion of their 4th album practiced their show at Wembley Arena where only friends and family were allowed in. It'd be no surprise, with just nearly a week to go before their first live date in Germany that they are doing just that.

And I'm not saying they have been going back and forth to Wembley Arena but I don't think Wembley Arena is hosting any shows of any type from the 21st of May till next Monday so it's a free arena at the moment. Something they may be exploiting. Also seeing as Wembley is in North London and I think Coldplay's studios are in North London it is within fairly close proximity surely.

Video or rehearsing, this is interesting and exciting :surprised:

Yeah, they probably went somewhere to rehears. Would be amazing that the things in bags and boxes where notes and cds, but I highly doubt it. If I was in a huge band whose new album is very very expected I wouldnt be carrying my new work just like that, it would have security like when money gets to the banks.

when I read the first line of the thread I thought the guy had some interesting news or something :blank:

Thanks for the info :nice:

Maybe another Wembley arena practise gig?

Did they look disheveled? If they all still look like they've been stuck in a studio for months then they probably weren't shooting a video :P

Although the rhythm section never looks disheveled so it would be hard to tell by looking at those two. :phu:

Champions League final will take place at Wembley on May 28, 2011. So if anything they would have limited time for preparations.

No that's Wembley Stadium. I'm talking about this place - Wembley Arena

Btw could topic starter prove it? Any photo from phone? I can't believe you are going to meet your favorite band w/o camera and some stuff for autograph.
