all you have to do is if you already have the songs on your computer like in folders you just drag the files to itunes, or in the file menu there should be add to itunes library. If it's a cd you just have to put it in your computer and then import the cd...

hope that helps!

oh, i meant on how to add more bands to your library on last fm, i know how to work itunes no problem. Thanks for helping though :)

oh I see... to add more bands of course you can just listen to artists and scrobble them, or if you can just go to an artists page and to the right of their picture it says "Add to my Library"

thanks man, should've been an easy thing to figure out but i'm still trying to get use to the site ha, thanks again!

when can we start posting reviews?

OMG I just received my mixtape ! :-o

Will have to d/load it later

:-D

I still haven't started on mine yet! *panics*

wait what? the review will be immediate? We're not gonna wait til submission deadline?

oh... :shocked3:

P.S. to whomever my mixtape maker is, please upload it to Mediafire. That's the only thing that's working in my place. Thanks :)

I guess everyone gets their mixtape as soon as their partner sends it in?

okay, well I listened to mine two times and let me be the first one to post a review!

1. Calm first song. Sounds a little retro, maybe from the organs and the voice. Not exactly my thing, but I didn't dislike it.

2. Ehhhhhhhhhh. Weird song. We can hear the bass very well. But I just don't like it, I'm sorry.

3. It has sort of the same atmosphere as the previous song. I just can't really get into this. I'm sorry.

4. I KNOW THIS I HAVE HEARD IT BEFORE. It's Björk. Very interesting and scary hahaha.

5. Ooooooo I like this one. I love the use of an orchestra with it. Beautiful. All giddy and cheerful. What language is this?

6. Calm. Nice. I don't really know what else to say. It's not bad!

7. Another calm one. I like the banjo/guitar (can't really make up my mind what kind of instrument it is?). Not bad at all.

8. I know that song too. It's uhm. I DON'T REMEMBER. Broken Social Scene? Anthems for seventeen year-old girl? My girlfriend loooooved that one. 'Park That Car, Drop That Phone, Sleep On The Floor, Dream About Me'. I have this album, I need to listen to it again and pay more attention to it. This song is brilliant.

9. It's nice. Nice guitar and piano. Not exactly my kind of thing, but quite soothing.

10. Hmm not bad. Not my favourite though. But not bad.

11. SOME OF THEM WANT TO ABUSE YOU SOME OF THEM WANT TO BE ABUSED. Nice cover. Very very interesting. Might be a favourite of the mixtape.

12. OMG that sounds like Era. New age. I haven't listened to that kind of music in a long time. I actually love it.

13. Oooh great finale with a beautiful classical piece with an opera singer. Very very nice.

So, all in all, I enjoyed my mixtape, it was quite different than what I usually hear and I love how I keep getting partners who open my musical horizons!

Yup... I'm sending them out right away... just wanted to try something different for a change.

I think this whole exchange has so many different elements to it. I know that for my tape that I'm working on, I'm having to break all the rules I had for previous mixes to make this one work.

okay, well I listened to mine two times and let me be the first one to post a review!

That's my mixtape. YAY!!!

The theme is female musicians and/or vocalists. I wanted to do this theme for quite a while now, but never managed to find the right songs. My latest purchase somehow made this possible. The sub theme (well not a sub theme) is eerie sounds, unsettling vibes, incongruous atmosphere, bla bla bla yadda yadda yadda. You get what I mean :P

1. Calm first song. Sounds a little retro, maybe from the organs and the voice. Not exactly my thing, but I didn't dislike it.

Scarlett Johansson - Town With No Cheer

This album is so amazing and amazingly underrated. There's no bad song in this album imho

2. Ehhhhhhhhhh. Weird song. We can hear the bass very well. But I just don't like it, I'm sorry.

Cibo Matto - Sugar Water

I have a crush on this song since I was little. I like their accent, makes the song even more strange. You should see the video, directed by Michael Gondry who brought us some of Björk's video, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and the why-the-hell-did-he-do-it Green Hornet.

3. It has sort of the same atmosphere as the previous song. I just can't really get into this. I'm sorry.

Sade - Slave Song

Yeah, quasijazz artist in this mixtape. Just coz...

4. I KNOW THIS I HAVE HEARD IT BEFORE. It's Björk. Very interesting and scary hahaha.

Björk - Ancestors

Yeah, I wanted to put this song to a mixtape for sooooo long. Now I finally have the chance. This song features Tanya Tagaq, an Inuit throat singer.

5. Ooooooo I like this one. I love the use of an orchestra with it. Beautiful. All giddy and cheerful. What language is this?

Adiemus - Chorale VI (Sol-Fa)/Cantus-'Song of Aeolus'

I'm not sure if this one is in any language. I think it's just gibberish sounds. I'll have to do more research. I loooove this song since my teacher in University taught us about composition. This song is one of the song in her mixtape she didn't let us hear that time. But she gave us the mixtape in the end anyway.

6. Calm. Nice. I don't really know what else to say. It's not bad!

Robyn - Jag Vet En Dejlig Rosa

It's very strange of Robyn to sing this kind of song in the Body Talk series. But it kind of make sense if you listen to the album(s). It's a traditional Swedish song or something.

7. Another calm one. I like the banjo/guitar (can't really make up my mind what kind of instrument it is?). Not bad at all.

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss - Trampled Rose

It's a country song!!! I'm not sure where Robert Plant is in this song, perhaps it's only Alison Krauss here. This album is rad!!!

08. Broken Social Scene - Anthems For A Seventeen Year Old Girl

Yes, you're correct. I heard this song from Scott Pilgrom vs. The World Soundtrack. This is my favourite piece, aside frome some Sex Bob-Omb silly tracks lol.

9. It's nice. Nice guitar and piano. Not exactly my kind of thing, but quite soothing.

Norah Jones - Not My Friend

Just remember. She can do alot of things.

Side note: Danger Mouse & Daniele Luppi, featuring Jack White and Norah Jones released an album called Rome. GO GET IT NOW!!

10. Hmm not bad. Not my favourite though. But not bad.

Shearwater - South Col

Basically this one is just noise :laugh4:

11. SOME OF THEM WANT TO ABUSE YOU SOME OF THEM WANT TO BE ABUSED. Nice cover. Very very interesting. Might be a favourite of the mixtape.

Emily Browning - Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)

Sucker Punch Soundtrack. I found the movie fantastic. Looking back, I think it wasn't that good. The soundtrack gave 20 extra points.

12. OMG that sounds like Era. New age. I haven't listened to that kind of music in a long time. I actually love it.

Enya - Pax Deorum

This is another song that I've been trying to fit into my mixtape. This time I made it.

13. Oooh great finale with a beautiful classical piece with an opera singer. Very very nice.

Sarah Brightman - La Wally

Yep, another song that I've been pushing. I imagine this song being sung by a queen of darkness, in some place that resembles hell, from the balcony of her huge castle, to her people, giving them a goodnight and a hope that she will lead them to rule the world. Of course that is not what the song is about.

So, all in all, I enjoyed my mixtape, it was quite different than what I usually hear and I love how I keep getting partners who open my musical horizons!

ARRRGGHH iTunes files in my mixtape! :bigcry: I hate iTunes :snobby:

Sorry, I just had to rant. I'm ok now :P

btw, mixtape maker, I converted them to mp3 and now there's two Track 15s. I'll find a way to distinguish between them when I review, which won't be today, maybe tomorrow or Thursday. I've got a lot on this week :)

I listened to my mix tape and I am going to do my review now. I'm not doing it song by song though.

Overall, I enjoyed it and liked it. I believe that it flowed well from song to song and it seems like every song were similar genre. Like there was a theme. I really liked that there was tracks that did not have audio, they were very calming. I especially like the track that you use to end the whole thing. I like how the beginning was something short and than you ended it the way you did. I do have to say though that there were some songs that were hard to understand what they were singing but I will give them more listens. I am very curious to know who these artists are, I admit I didn't recognize any of the songs.
