I'll say that it didn't help that the two tracks of TNAF I heard sounded eerily similar. I also have a thing about voices, and somehow, I'm not nearly as bothered by Passion Pit as I am TNAF. That's something I can't really explain.

Well do you remember which tracks they were?

Aahhhhhh are you serious about the voice thing? :bigcry: I am absolutely in love with the guy's voice, I just can't help it :dazzled: I guess we do have different tastes more than we thought

Mariee your mixtape looks awesome, I'll download it :wacky:

OMG :cheesy: yay! :wacky: but surely, you know half the artists on the mixtape, no?

First, I’d like to say that you had a rather interesting title for your mix. I tried Googling it to maybe get some sort of clue as to what I should expect, but it didn’t really give me anything, so I was very intrigued. Thanks for making me think.

i made your mixtape! :D i'm glad you liked it

i came up with the name to try and set a theme of when you like someone you don't know to well so you create a lie to see them the way you want to or hope to see them and these were the kind of songs that i thought could suit this situation quite well, it had no connection to a lyric from another song or anything just something I made up. With it also being my 1st mixtape i wanted to chuck in my favourite songs too :)

1. It begins with a track driven by guitar and low drums in the beginning. I get a folk feel as I listen to this song. I’m not sure if it’s the equalizer my iTunes player or what, but the balance seems slightly off; the vocals are drowned out by the drums. “Bah-bahhhhh, bah-bahhh-dow.” Interesting intro.
This is from an Irish small band called The Ambience Affair and the song's called Devil In The Detail. They've only got 2 EP's out so that would explain the the unbalanced recording cos it would've been made on a budget.

2. At the very beginning, this reminded me of a different song that I’ve heard before. I feel like this song is familiar, even though I’m almost certain I’ve never heard it. This is some song about being lost in a forest (Those are the lyrics I’m getting, anyway), and I’m pretty sure this is a UK band, probably British. I’m kinda reminded of Kele Okereke on the vocals, but this has a much more acoustic feel than anything he’s done, so that’s definitely not it. It’s not Little Comets, either, whose vocalist kinda reminds me of Kele, too. My ears are trying to pick it out, but I can’t. I like the drums in the instrumental break at the end. “Do you wanna come over and kill some time?” I like this one better than the first track.

I was reading this last night laughing to myself thinking IT IS KELE!!! lol it's from his band Bloc Party and the song is called This Modern Love. I dunno if you watch How I Met Your Mother but in the last episode of the 1st series this song is playing towards the end and that's where i heard it, so maybe if you watch the show that's why it's familiar?

3. This starts with some short “uh” noises, and then goes into some singing with background music. This track is not as acoustic as the previous two, which gives the mix a bit of contrast at this point. I like the driving tempo that this track haves. There’s not much else I can think to say at this point. This track is OK, I suppose.

This song I like quite a bit. It's from a British indie band called Foals and the song is This Orient. I love the line in the chorus 'It's your heart that gives me this Western Feeling' and i think the music compliments it well.

4. Ahhh, a female vocalist. Her vocals are very clear and crisp, which is something I appreciate, particular in girls. Ohhh, she gets a bit screamy here in parts. This one is electronic. This song is about some girl named Jenny Kelly, whoever she is. When this girl doesn’t sound like she’s trying to hard, she sounds good, but that’s only like, half the time.

This is from a popular Irish band called Fight Like Apes and the song is quite predictably called Jenny Kelly. If you like the song you might like their other stuff, they can be quite funny and sometimes in your face with their lyrics. A fun, upbeat band that are gaining popularity in England now.

5. Ahhh, I know this one. This is “PDA” by Interpol. Paul Banks’ voice is very distinctive. I don’t really listen to a whole lot of Interpol, for whatever reason. I have their albums, so it’s not like I can’t.

I love Interpol, one of my favourite discoveries of the last 12 months by far. I love the guitar solo it sends me into a trance and can make me feel quite happy which is strange really considering what Paul sings about in general, e.g. 'You're so cute when you're frustrated.'

6. This starts off with some weird noises, then goes into some sort of intro. I can’t really hear what the vocalist is saying. Is this some lo-fi band? I ask because this tends to be a part of that genre. While that’s slightly bothersome to me, I do like the guitars.

Another Irish band. BL_CK R_B_TS (Black Robots). There good but sadly have split up due to legal issues with some other band called Black Robot in America. I can see what you mean cos at times the singer almost sounds like his voice is being covered? Their album is free to download it's called Farewell To The Black Robots.

7. Somehow, you missed this track when deleting the info, and it’s because of that that I know it’s “What If” by Bombay Bicycle Club. I think I may have heard a song of theirs once before. The vocals take some used to, given how deliberately shaky they sound, but it’s not something I can’t tolerate or anything, and the music sounds good enough. Actually, when the guy’s not singing, this reminds me completely of something I would listen to.

I didn't forget but for some reason even though I did delete it's info of iTunes completely it just wouldn't go blank, quite annoying :/ I really like them especially this song, i recommend Dust On The Ground, Magnet, Always Like This and The Hill.

8. I KNOW THIS SONG. It’s “If You Wanna” by The Vaccines. Their album has been one of my favorites this year, so their inclusion on this tape has me pretty excited. I’m now pumped to hear the remaining 5 tracks on this mix.

I can't get enough of The Vaccines at the moment and can't wait to see them in the summer, glad to see you enjoy them as much as i do :)

9. I like the guitar sound at the beginning. The female vocalist sounds quite beautiful. The contrast between that and the driving rhythm of the song work well. I like how at one point, it falls out and goes soft, then comes back just as strong after that section. This is a definite favorite of the tape.

Yet another Irish band and my 3rd favourite band too. They're called Ham Sandwich and they're really really good. This song is called The Fog, it's not my favourite track from the album White Fox but i thought it'd be good for this mixtape and I always want to introduce people to them because to be honest they deserve as much publicity as possible. Listen to Ants, St. Christopher, The Naturist and White Fox.

10. Celesta? Interesting. Wait. It just went into beats. WUT. Aha, that was clever. …Wait a minute. That sounds like Chester Bennington. THIS IS LINKIN PARK? HOLY CRAP. The raspy thing kinda gave it away. You’ve really thrown me for a loop with this one. This has to be post-Meteora Linkin Park, because quite frankly, I haven’t really paid attention to that. After hearing a few of the singles, I’ve kinda dismissed them. I like this a lot more than I expected to, given my previous opinion of the band. You’ve given me something to think about.

I felt the same way too. I bought Minutes To Midnight with great expectations but they've just pissed me off with all the other stuff they do instead of concentrating on themselves. This is my favourite track from that album but I barely listen to them anymore and haven't heard any of their new stuff either. The song is called In Pieces.

11. This song is so folk. There’s nothing wrong with that at all, in case you were wondering. I’m rather fond of the genre, honestly. This is a nice contrast from the previous track. Listening to this somehow makes me feel cozy, like I should be in front of a burning fireplace, even though I don’t have a fireplace, and it’s June, anyway. Very nice track.

This is José González I think he's from Argentina (someone correct me if i'm wrong). You might recognise his song Heartbeats, the video is of like a million bouncy balls going down a hill in LA by the looks of it. The album is called Veneer and it's a really nice album. The song is called Save Your Day

12. AHHHH. This tape just keeps getting better. This is a bit more driven than the track before, but it has that similar acoustic feel. I’m really diggin’ the voice, too. This reminds me of this one guy I heard once named Frank Turner. I heard a couple of his tracks, and I rather liked him. This song has some sort of quality that just demands my attention-an x-factor, if you will. Anyway, another solid track, this is.

This is my favourite song. People say this about a load of songs but when i say it i mean it. I've only ever skipped it once according to iTunes and i remember that it was an accident (damn iTouch!) but seriously this song is the only one i can listen to in any mood possible. It's like Gary Lightbody (the lead singer/main writer) wrote it just for me. I can go on for months which i have done and actually been doing recently just listening to this song. I'm surprised you don't know this band considering they're connection with Grey's Anatomy with the song Chasing Cars. Anyway they are Snow Patrol and this special song is Open Your Eyes. I love your response to it :) the album it's from is Eyes Open which is also my favourite album.

13. It opens with a solo acoustic guitar. Awww, the poor guy; he sounds nervous as he sings. :laugh4: It’s like Devandra Banhart, only not nearly as nasty-sounding to my ears. In fact, surprisingly, this sounds pleasant. The fact you decided to end with this was an excellent idea. It has this certain feeling of winding down to it-you know, like something that you might relax to after a long and stressful day.

This was Nick drake singing Black Eyed Dog. The nerves you thought he had was his style of singing. His album A Treasury has all his best songs on it. I did think it'd be a good way to end the mixtape especially after an intense song like Open Your Eyes.

It’s really hard to assess this album overall. I will tell you that I definitely enjoyed the second half of the album a lot better than the first half. You should actually be very proud of yourself, because while there were a few tracks that I felt were lacking for me, there weren’t any that I disliked. I think overall, I found it to be an enjoyable listen. I can’t wait to see the track listing. Thank you.

I'm really glad you enjoyed it, I was a bit nervous with it being my first mixtape how the person would react to it so i'm happy it's gone down well. I can see what you mean about the 2nd half being better because I struggled with trying to put it together as i had to take songs out cos they didn't work when i unzipped the file to see if it worked so i was disappointed about that.

i dunno, he looks argentinian lol and you know what i meant by his song mr specific man. haha Plus there's so many covers of this song that the original is probably lost deep within the history of music ha

REVIEW TIME:

Ok, there's no Track 14 and two Track 15's, so I've added the track length to each of the 15s to be able to tell them apart easily.

1

Love the drumming and the guitars in this. It sounds quite tribal and energetic. I don't care much for the lyrics, which are a bit rubbish, or the vocal. Musically though, I really like it, it's catchy.

2

Sounds old skool, early 80s, has a Jam feel to it, but more upbeat. I like this, but again, I'm not a big fan of vocal. Short and sweet tho.

3

Strong bassline. More guitars, not complaining cos musically this is the kind of stuff that impresses me. A better vocal this time, but still something slightly annoying about it, like there's some sort of effect on it.

4

Strong start, interesting guitar domination again. I like it, it's very groovy. Vocalist sounds kind of familar, like he's trying to sound like Bob Dylan at times.

5

Starts odd (not necessarily in a bad way), then gets nice and catchy. Sounds like MGMT or something of that ilk, in fact it sounds exactly like MGMT. Liking this one.

6

Ooh lots of snares. Bit of piano. Interesting. Is that a tuba in there as well? Nice vocal this time, very melodic. I like this one too.

7

Oooh foot steps at the beginning, thought it was going to be The Captain for a minute there :( Another foot-tapper, has a good, strong beat. It's an interesting one this, a bit fun. Strong vocal but not to sure about the lyrics on the chorus, sounds a bit odd. Dramatic end.

8

Calmer now, nice acoustic beginning. Fleet Foxes, yes? Maybe this is on their 2nd album, I only bought it on Monday and haven't had the chance to listen to it much just yet. Absolutely gorgeous strings, the usual sweeping harmonies that they do so well, the song builds beautifully. This is stunning.

9

Wow, complete contrast with the previous track. Dramatic beginning, thumping beat. Urgh, the vocal lets it down, his voice is pretty annoying, very distracting. Musically tho this has everything, really good subtle strings, strong beat, amazing guitar riff.

With a decent singer, this'd be perfect.

10

This is nice and harmless. Has an 80s feel to it, very synth-ey and retro.

11

Nice bassline. Another nod to the 80s on this one. Has an XX feel to it. It's interesting but feels a but slow and apathetic, I keep waiting for it to do something special, but it doesn't really. Not bad tho.

12

More synths, but quite dancey and frenetic this time. Fairly catchy. A nice-sounding vocal this time.

13

Woah, choo-choo train haha. Very synth-ey, but with a slow beat and quite a calming, relaxing effect. Vocal sounds familar, sounds like a cross between David Bowie and Magne Furuholmen. Actually sounds a bit Damon Albarn at times too. Sounds spacey, this one, not bad.

15 (3 min 19)

More synths, but again quite chilled out. Another nice one. The singer sounds a bit Wild Beasts at times, ie. kinda annoyingly high pitched, especially the long drawn out oooooh towards the end, had to take the headphones off there for a minute. But overall, it's ok, not bad.

15 (4 min 18)

Jingly start. Good strong beat, interesting instrumentation. Love the guitars and the bassline. Weird lyrics about avaries. Don't like the vocal, he sounds like a Londoner.

16

Really don't like the vocal on this, I'm not a big fan of screechy girl singers anyway, but this is especially bad. Musically it's an ok track, kind of non-descript tho.

17

Oooh I've heard this before. Cults, no? Pretty sure I've heard this on t'radio. This is good, nice and interesting. She reminds me of Fever Ray, with that slightly distorted vocal. Good use of xylaphone. I like this, a good ending to the tape. In fact this is so good I'm gonna hop on Spotify and find some more from this band...

---------------------

Well, overall it's been a good tape, a very pleasant listening experience. There's nothing there that I absolutely hated so that's always a good thing :) There was quite a few tracks where I liked it musically but didn't like or wasn't impressed by the vocals. I'm rather picky when it comes to vocalists, so I guess I'm a difficult customer on that score, sorry.

I know the tape was only an hour long, but it felt much longer than that for some reason :\ When I was reviewing it last night, it all got a bit draining after a bit, so I've actually reviewed this in two sittings. Seventeen songs is a little too long for me. But that's just me, lots of people prefer the longer tapes.

It's still been a good tape tho, an interesting upbeat mix of indie pop and alternative poppy stuff. Lots of guitars, which I like  I've enjoyed listening, and I'm interested to find out the bandnames. Good job. :)

i dunno, he looks argentinian lol and you know what i meant by his song mr specific man. haha Plus there's so many covers of this song that the original is probably lost deep within the history of music ha

haha that's Miss Specific to you, sir :P

And the original's not that old. 2003, I think. I didn't know there was any other covers of it tho. Are they any good?

My responses are in blue.

i made your mixtape!

Heyyyyy! :D It's kinda funny how this turned out. I was sitting here helping you figure out how to make a tape. I couldn't have known it would've been for me. LOL

That's a rather interesting concept. :surprised:

This is from an Irish small band called The Ambience Affair and the song's called Devil In The Detail. They've only got 2 EP's out so that would explain the the unbalanced recording cos it would've been made on a budget.

Ahhh, that makes sense. I'll probably look into this. I'm lacking in the Irish music department.

Wow. How did I miss Bloc Party? Jesus Christ. :dead: It's really been a while since I've listened to them hardcore, but still. I feel stupid. :disappointed:

This song I like quite a bit. It's from a British indie band called Foals and the song is This Orient. I love the line in the chorus 'It's your heart that gives me this Western Feeling' and i think the music compliments it well.

OOOH. I've heard a lot of talk about these guys around here. I think this has given me enough reason to look into them further.

This is from a popular Irish band called Fight Like Apes and the song is quite predictably called Jenny Kelly. If you like the song you might like their other stuff, they can be quite funny and sometimes in your face with their lyrics. A fun, upbeat band that are gaining popularity in England now.

Hmmm, more Irish music. I wouldn't have guessed that.

I love Interpol, one of my favourite discoveries of the last 12 months by far. I love the guitar solo it sends me into a trance and can make me feel quite happy which is strange really considering what Paul sings about in general, e.g. 'You're so cute when you're frustrated.'

Haha, that's a nice line. I might wanna take a listen to their back catalogue and see what I get out of it.

Awww, sad day. :\ Free music is good, though.

Alright, I'll look into those.

I can't get enough of The Vaccines at the moment and can't wait to see them in the summer, glad to see you enjoy them as much as i do :)

Oh yeah, they're most excellent. "Norgaard" is my jam.

Yet another Irish band and my 3rd favourite band too. They're called Ham Sandwich and they're really really good. Interesting band name, haha. I really liked this one so much. I'll definitely look into this band.

So is this to say giving them a second chance would be a bad idea? Haha.

This is José González I think he's from Argentina (someone correct me if i'm wrong). You might recognise his song Heartbeats, the video is of like a million bouncy balls going down a hill in LA by the looks of it. The album is called Veneer and it's a really nice album. The song is called Save Your Day

Ahhh, OK. I've heard of him before, and I have a track that he did with The Books on the "Dark Was the Night" compilation, but I've never really explored his work. I'm going to now. :D

This is my favourite song. People say this about a load of songs but when i say it i mean it. I've only ever skipped it once according to iTunes and i remember that it was an accident (damn iTouch!) but seriously this song is the only one i can listen to in any mood possible. I love your response to it :) the album it's from is Eyes Open which is also my favourite album.

Man. I've heard a lot about Snow Patrol, but I haven't really given them much thought. Somehow, I have "The Final Straw" on iTunes. I think I took it from another computer or something. Anyway, I really need to get myself together and get some Snow Patrol action going on.

This was Nick drake singing Black Eyed Dog. The nerves you thought he had was his style of singing. His album A Treasury has all his best songs on it. I did think it'd be a good way to end the mixtape especially after an intense song like Open Your Eyes.

Yeah, I figured that. Interesting song title, by the way.

Oh, I was, too. I remember how on my first tape, I took it literally and mixed in a whole bunch of different genres. Somehow, that worked.

Awww, I hate it when that happens. :\

Well, squibby (Sorry, I don't know your name), thank you for the lovely tape. I'd like to especially thank you for the abundance of Irish music. As I mentioned earlier, I don't have a lot of it, so I'm glad you could help me in that way. :D

Track List

1. Devil In The Detail - The Ambience Affair

2. Modern Love - Bloc Party

The Mixtape

haha that's Miss Specific to you, sir :P

And the original's not that old. 2003, I think. I didn't know there was any other covers of it tho. Are they any good?

Well Ms. Specific ha, I know i've heard at least 4 different versions and the two main ones being by José and the other by Massive Attack (which is also the theme song for House). They're all good cos they seem to all have the right tempo to it or the way they do it it just works. I don't know about the other 2 versions i've heard but I've heard a few covers of it

^ I hate to interrupt, but the theme song for "House" is "Teardrop." How exactly is that a cover if we're talking about a song called "Heartbeats?"

Hey squareonefivesix! I made your tape :D

REVIEW TIME:

Ok, there's no Track 14 and two Track 15's, so I've added the track length to each of the 15s to be able to tell them apart easily.

I have no idea how this happened, I'm sorry! Either way, they were in the right order. The tracks in iTunes format were ones that I bought off iTunes so I couldn't actually convert them, sorry!! :\

1

Love the drumming and the guitars in this. It sounds quite tribal and energetic. I don't care much for the lyrics, which are a bit rubbish, or the vocal. Musically though, I really like it, it's catchy.

'Get Some' by Lykke Li. I was a little disturbed with the lyrics for this one at first as well, but it won me over with those drums.

2

Sounds old skool, early 80s, has a Jam feel to it, but more upbeat. I like this, but again, I'm not a big fan of vocal. Short and sweet tho.

'Norgaard' by The Vaccines. One of my favourite songs of the year so far!

Hmmmm, that's 3 out of 3 vocalists you don't like. A bit picky? Haha. This one is called 'Please Ask For Help' by Telekinesis. I can kinda see how you might find his voice a bit annoying, though.

4

Strong start, interesting guitar domination again. I like it, it's very groovy. Vocalist sounds kind of familar, like he's trying to sound like Bob Dylan at times.

I'm glad you didn't recognise this one! It's The Strokes, from their new album. This one's called 'Gratisfaction'.

5

Starts odd (not necessarily in a bad way), then gets nice and catchy. Sounds like MGMT or something of that ilk, in fact it sounds exactly like MGMT. Liking this one.

Foster the People - 'Pumped Up Kicks'. I love this one too.

6

Ooh lots of snares. Bit of piano. Interesting. Is that a tuba in there as well? Nice vocal this time, very melodic. I like this one too.

A song called 'Autumn' by a little-known Australian band called Big Scary. I'm glad you liked it!

7

'40 Day Dream' by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros. Glad you liked it!

Yep, Fleet Foxes from their newest album. If you like this one, definitely check out the album ASAP! This one is called 'Bedouin Dress'.

I thought this one would be a bit risky, not surprised you don't really like it. Ah well. The band is a little Aussie band called Deep Sea Arcade, and the song is 'Lonely in Your Arms'

10

This is nice and harmless. Has an 80s feel to it, very synth-ey and retro.

'Talking Like I'm Falling Down Stairs', by another Australian band called Sparkadia. Glad you liked it :D

Nice bassline. Another nod to the 80s on this one. Has an XX feel to it. It's interesting but feels a but slow and apathetic, I keep waiting for it to do something special, but it doesn't really. Not bad tho.

'Back to Back' by Wolf Gang. I'm really excited to see what comes out of this band, but I'd agree that this isn't their best song.

More synths, but quite dancey and frenetic this time. Fairly catchy. A nice-sounding vocal this time.

'Pull Me Back to Earth' by Friendly Fires. These guys are one of my favourites, all their stuff is catchy and dancy. So if you like that, check them out!

Haha, that's because this IS Damon Albarn! This is a project officially by Gorillaz, from an album called The Fall that Damon recorded and produced on an ipad during their North American tour. This is my favourite song from that album, called 'Amarillo'.

More synths, but again quite chilled out. Another nice one. The singer sounds a bit Wild Beasts at times, ie. kinda annoyingly high pitched, especially the long drawn out oooooh towards the end, had to take the headphones off there for a minute. But overall, it's ok, not bad.

This is the actual track 14. I have no idea why it renamed itself! Anyway, this song is called 'I Don't Want Love' by The Antlers. I personally love his vocals, I find them beautiful and very haunting. But hey, you can't please them all

Jingly start. Good strong beat, interesting instrumentation. Love the guitars and the bassline. Weird lyrics about avaries. Don't like the vocal, he sounds like a Londoner.

Awww, these guys are one of my favourite bands, I'm sorry you didn't like the vocals. The band is Foals, and the song is from their first album, called 'Olympic Airways'.

Really don't like the vocal on this, I'm not a big fan of screechy girl singers anyway, but this is especially bad. Musically it's an ok track, kind of non-descript tho.

Haha, ok. I think her voice is amazing :P This is PJ Harvey from her latest album, the song is called 'On Battleship Hill'.

Yep, Cults with 'Go Outside'. This band is one of my more recent finds, I really need to look into them a bit more!

Good job. :)

Well, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Obviously we have quite different tastes when it comes to vocalists, so I'm really sorry you didn't like a lot of them! I'm also sorry it was a bit long, I normally make them about that length or a bit longer. You should definitely check out any of the artists you liked on the tape though. Clearly, I like all of them :P

Thanks for listening and getting your review in so quickly!

Sorry again that it wasn't exactly to your tastes, but I'm glad you more or less enjoyed it!

:dazzled:

My responses are in blue.

I know, I had a feeling that I was going to be making the tape for you ha so think of it as a way of me saying thanks :)

I'm more than happy to tell people about the good Irish bands like Ham Sandwich, the link is them performing [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmwWSWdP1mo&feature=channel_video_title]Ants Live In Cork[/ame] which I recorded and they're such down to earth people like after the gig they just sat at the bar talking to everyone and anyone.

About Linkin Park, I think you should check out Minutes To Midnight yeah but don't bother with the other album then.

I have that Dark Is The Night album and I was tempted to put on Hey Snow White by The New Pornographers but I forgot about it in the end.

Well when it comes to Snow Patrol all I can say is that you must listen to them. To be honest they've had more influence on me than anyone or thing else. When you listen to Final Straw the main tracks for me our How To Be Dead, Chocolate and the track that got them the recognition of the great band they are Run.

Well i'm glad to have signed up for the exchange and i'll be definitely be doing it again. My name is Jack :)

^ I hate to interrupt, but the theme song for "House" is "Teardrop." How exactly is that a cover if we're talking about a song called "Heartbeats?"

:dozey: I feel like such a fool ha, but José does do a cover of the song on his 2nd album which is how I was getting mixed up……

Nice tape, Grace. :awesome:

Dear Mixtape Maker,

I'll be out of town for a week, which may or may not have internet connection. So, fire away, I may or may not download it immediately,

Without further adieu, here is my review.

I adore this tape. I loved a few songs and liked all of them. Thank you to my mixtape maker for having such great taste! I've listened to it quite a few times already, so here are my thoughts on each track...

1) Ok. I am in love with this song. It's gorgeous, and a really great opener to the tape. It set a really nice mood for the mixtape as a whole. The piano is my favourite part! Also I am interested to know who sings this...I feel like I may have heard some tracks from them before. The singer has a unique accent that I can't put my finger on; it sounds like he is saying "sometimes friendship feels you" but I think it must be "fools you"? Either way, a lovely track.

2) Love the beat on this one. I really like the guitar too. The singer has a cool voice and I like the way it kind of dips in the chorus. I have no idea what he's saying half the time though! Once I get the name of the track I'm definitely looking up the lyrics because I really like the song other than that.

3) I know this one! Grapevine Fires by Death Cab for Cutie. I looovvee this song. It's so beautiful. I actually considered putting this one on my tape but left it out at the last minute. Excellent choice though, it's a great song. I just love the lyrics.

4) Very cool track. I like how it's really chill at first, and then it kind of kicks it up a notch when the drums come in. And I love the intrumental part where he's singing the "oh"s. This guy has a nice voice.

5) Lovely instrumentals on this track. For some reason they remind a little bit of Stairway to Heaven. And the vocalist reminds me of Matt Bellamy, if only just for very brief moments. Nice song.

6) I love this song! The beginning is fantastic, and then the song just keeps getting better and better. I love the vocalist ahhh! I can't wait to find out who this is. :)

7) Yet another great song! Super catchy. I can already feel the odd stares from my friends when they hear me singing "what did you expeecctt from post break-up seeexxxx?"!!

8) Fantastic dance, electro-y beat. Very catchy, good lyrics, good vocals. I like it.

9) The electronic kind of sound in the background sounds cool on this track. At first I didn't love it, but once it hits the chorus...I love it!

10) The first and only female vocalist on the tape! I was surprised when I heard that it was a she instead of a he. :P I like the beat during the chorus. The vocals are alright but there's something about her voice that makes me think I would get tired of it after a few songs in a row. A good song though.

11) I continue to be impressed by your choice of songs! I really liked this track. The vocals sound familiar but I can't think of who it could be at the moment. Great closer.

Ok so I loved this tape. Seriously, every song was fantastic. I really liked how every song was really laid back, yet some were just begging to be danced to. The mood was consistent throughout the playlist even though the songs were all different and unique. I'll definitely be keeping all of them and I'm sure many will make it into my summer playlists. Thank you so much and I can't wait to find out who made this awesome tape!!
