  • Lol I haven't been here in 5 years but I decided to pop my head back in for some nostalgia. Seems like this was my last post so here's an update... I finally saw Radiohead live in Manchester in 2017 a

yeah..i actually like HTTT and it surprised me ( i read reviews before listening to it actually)-> 2+2,there there, punchup,a wolf at the door, scatterbrain,we suck young blood (my fav),the gloaming (2nd fav),sail to the moon-> those are beautiful

i kinda hate myxomathosis,i will, wieayb (this one the most).

what surprises me how many ppl love wieayb and dislike gloaming?! it's totally opposite for me.

the problem with httt (for me) is not the way it was done (quickly) what i noticed the majority thinks, but the fact it's not one story (like amnesiac :dozey: ),it's not coherent and the songs don't don't fit each oter (not all but the ones i hate :D)..maybe it's because of the short peroid it was done...after all :laugh3:

it still is great, though.

^ agreed, Zorana

HTTT is Nigel's fault. it could have been so so so much better.

first of all, what a poor mix by him, as Zorana said it sounds more like a compilation of very badly and quickly mixed songs

second, 14 songs? lol reduce to 11-12 ( - Backdrifts, - I Will (would be a great b-side) and minus Scatterbrain)

actually, HTTT has some classics like 2+2=5, There There or A Wolf At The Door (fuck, what a song!), but it also has many disappoitments

overally it's a good album, but it wasn't really a Radiohead standard

but on the other hand, HTTT was experimental and it was really good to hear new sounds from Radiohead

I will is bad yes, but wieayb is wonderfull  and the gloaming is good too :D

and ur right about that the songs dont fit eachother. But with amnesiac i only like 4 songs, thats the reason why i like httt more.

And Will: creep is good! just dont listen to many times :P

and yes the first cd is not really original with the music they made. But still some good songs on it, as long you dont listen to it to much :P

I don't understand why so many people slate HTTH, and yes nik and zorana i know you are not slating it i just mean people in general :wink2:

I love it, i like every song on there for it's own reasons. It's true though, each song is different, they do not slot together as such.

I will is bad

:freak:

I think it's a good song...

heh I really really don't like The Gloaming, and I do like WIEAYB a lot...and I Will too, though I prefer the Los Angeles version.

see what did i tell you? :wink3:

actually i like it very much, there are songs that can easily beat some on their other albums , but this is the only album (well next to PH :D) i can't listen to as an album (all songs in order and start listening thing just doesn't do for me). i will and the rest i hate really ruin the experience for me. but HTTT has some of their best songs ever and that's why i like it.

Nik i have a question...what are the symptoms that RH song gets after being godrichied? ondes? i've been wondering and all, and noticed that i really don't pay much to the producer thing in music, i don't get it..though i did notiched when Nigel destroyed 15 step with ondes..it pissed me off so much. i don't get, what the producer does?

Yea i can understand, besides everyone's different :)

Producer from wikipedia:

In the music industry, a record producer (or music producer) has many roles, among them controlling the recording sessions, coaching and guiding the performers, and supervising the recording, mixing and mastering processes.

so, obviously Nigel is responsible for the final mix/sound of the album. he mixes and re-masteres it. many songs sound different live and on the album, and Godrich responsible for it, i mean for studio versions (Idioteque, The Gloaming, 15 Step supposedly etc are better live undoubtfully. so probably these are his most recognizable mistakes, although 15 Step isn't finished yet). imo, the final version of the album depends a lot from the actual producer...

so that's why he's "the 6th member" and he's done a really great work with Radiohead, without doubts, but he also made hell a lot of mistakes, most of them on the last 2 albums (HTTT, The Eraser). i still like him, and he'll stay great for me because of The Bends, OKC, Kid A/Amnesiac but he needs to re-new, i just have a feeling he has no motivation at all or i don't know...

i really hope the LP7 will prove that i'm wrong.

note: seeing Radiohead with another producer could be more exciting because i think they already reached the 10.0 with Nigel and not only once, a change would be good, maybe

but then again, we still haven't heard the new LP, so it's too early and unfair to blame GODrich already now

thanks for the explaining.

see..i'm feeling kinda dumb, cus i consider myself music maniac and yet i have never payed attention to the whole producer thing (i just now realised i can see it when listening to the music itself carefully). esp.with RH cus they all (inside band) do producing and give 150% without even playing. i guess...they find themselfs to be productive as possible the minute nigel comes. maybe that's the combination they can all work with best. though i forgot that Thom wanted him and had to convince others to do so too.

i don't know if i would dared (if i was at their position) to pick anyone else, even if the only reason would be not to piss Nigel and somehow make him feel abandoned.

Idioteque is way better in the studio version!

well..live and studio are equal worth for me.

yay another Let Down fan made video.

im in love

any new tour dates?

I've heard something about Radiohead planing to go and play in Norway the next summer..? :D

yes, at the Quart Festival. but i don't think it's more than a rumour at the moment ;)

then ive got another rumour

The organisator from Lowlands said he wants to have Radiohead next summer because then the festival would be complete. So IF its true, he will try everything to get radiohead there :D. So i hope its more then a rumour!

that could be true, but thom said on amsterdam's 2nd night they wont do festivals. he probably meant that cus ot was the end of their tour, but that's thom..you never know..

i think they might appear on glasto next year.

^^ same. If the album comes out next year spring/summer then they are bound to get asked to appear at at least one uk festival.

We will see....:)

*sigh* id love to go to glastonbury once in my life
