April 1, 200917 yr does anyone know why it is that when international bands tour South America the concerts are broadcast on tv?? it doesnt happen anywhere else in the world. i always thought it had to do with the fact that alot of fans in that region of the world cant exactly afford to go see them live so they are compensated by getting to watch it live on tv. was the entire Sao Paulo concert broadcast and recorded?

April 1, 200917 yr i'm not complaining or anything, i actually think its great that those concerts are shown on tv simply because the atmosphere tends to be sooo amazing. the crowds are more passionate especially since bands only tour there maybe once every 7 or 8yrs. or in the case of radiohead after 14years. i'm starting to get sick of the band constantly talking about european and american tours. they way he's talking in that interview its as if those are the only two parts of the world where people have heard of the band.
April 1, 200917 yr Cool news. LP8 hype! Cool new sig Briggs. How to Dissappear Completely has replaced Let Down as my favorite RH song too.
April 1, 200917 yr Nice! Yeah, its tough to chose a favourite. But that one has always been able to "move" me. Pyramid Song is close behind.
April 1, 200917 yr Its probably the most emotionally impacting song for me. I first listened to Kid A during my freshman year at college, and halfway through my first semester I was relating so much to that song, because I kept on feeling physically crowded by people I was intellectually and emotionally very different from, and all I wanted to do was escape. I would leave my crowded dorm room and seek refuge in the piano labs where I would again feel encroached because people were chatting loudly just outside where I was playing. A lot of it was irrational, but I became internally upset my everyone I came in contact with, or even saw. I remember wishing I could be in a field with no one for miles around. So apart from being amazingly beautiful, the lyrics of that song really pull at my experiences.

April 1, 200917 yr I was blown away by this alone. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vE5u4JZyFrE&fmt=22]YouTube - [HD] Radiohead - How to Disappear Completely (Live @ Saitama Super Arena - Oct 5, 08 - Tokyo, Japan)[/ame] I'm sure if I ever truly saw it live, I would be completely overwhelmed as you described. I've never actually cried to a song, but that might just do it...

April 1, 200917 yr I love the Canal version with an army of Ondes. But yeah, really powerful lyrics. I think we all go through those "I'm not here, this isn't happening" moments. Oddly enough, one of the hardest things I went through emotionally I stayed up the entire night listening to Pablo Honey haha
April 1, 200917 yr AHAHHAHAHAHAH love your sig Briggs! it's brilliant haha and I love the Canal version too.
April 1, 200917 yr thanks for all the info re: dead space and waste i will probably be same screen name *takes RH gig fund and puts in CP gig fund*
April 1, 200917 yr I love the Canal version with an army of Ondes. But yeah, really powerful lyrics. I think we all go through those "I'm not here, this isn't happening" moments. Oddly enough, one of the hardest things I went through emotionally I stayed up the entire night listening to Pablo Honey haha I find most of the time that its preferable to numb your emotions than to indulge in them. For example, when the titans tragically lost to the ravens in the playoffs... When something like that happens, the last thing I want to do is turn on "Fix You" or that "Bad Day" song. Custom-made 'feel-better' tracks only makes you feel all the more pathetic, and focus on what you're trying to escape. Instead I'll usually turn on something enjoyable but unrelated. Albums like "The Unforgettable Fire" are great for that. Especially "Elvis Presley & America" because its a constant stream of meaningful but unrelated thought. Somehow that song relates to my discomfort more than any 'feel-better' song could. The case of "How to Disappear Completely" is sort of different though, because it was a constant, ongoing event, and not some game I could get over in a few hours. In times like that you sometimes need a kind of emotional purging.
April 1, 200917 yr ok... so apparently that whole 5-6 new songs and webcast was a hoax, i guess an april fools joke (it would make sense because i guess it was april 1 in UK when it was posted). There still is a small exerpt from colin in NME which is below. it does look as though they'll be playing new songs... still exciting
April 1, 200917 yr I just watched the House of Cards video for the first time........no joke. wow, really? What'd you think? They used a cool machine to make it, but other than that I find it kind of boring.
April 1, 200917 yr wow, really? What'd you think? They used a cool machine to make it, but other than that I find it kind of boring. Yeah, cool idea, but I probably won't watch it again.

April 1, 200917 yr Yeah, cool idea, but I probably won't watch it again. haha... honestly i never got what the big thing was with music videos. i usually only watch them once or twice and that's about it
April 1, 200917 yr i think the making of it was more interesting than the actual video sometimes the video ruins the song for me.
April 1, 200917 yr Yeah, music videos are definitely overrated. I prefer watching live videos and stuff on youtube.
