Radiohead

Featured Replies

So they are headlining Reading and Leeds.

Overall the lineup isn't that strong as previous years in my view. Only Radiohead can really be called legendary, Kings of Leon and Arctic Monkeys are good but not great as headliners.

Less than 3 months to Glastonbury :D

  • Lol I haven't been here in 5 years but I decided to pop my head back in for some nostalgia. Seems like this was my last post so here's an update... I finally saw Radiohead live in Manchester in 2017 a

Exactly.

And in between, when news surrounding the band's whereabouts are kind of low key, EMI will re-re-release and re-repackage old stuff to keep the fans happy :P

exactly... or they'll wait until LP8 has a release date and then will release something like in the studio outtakes or something on the same date. Man, EMI sure aren't trying to squeeze to the last penny to save their dying company

I bet they'll release something between this tour as well.

yeah... i still think it'd be really cool if they had a webcast of the band in the studio working on songs, kind of like what they did before for songs like Morning Mi Lord/Good Morning Mr. Magpie, There There, I Froze Up, etc.

definitely listen to them as a whole.

My top 5 favorites though...

OK Computer:

-Let Down

-Exit Music (For a Film)

-The Tourist

-No Surprises

-Paranoid Android

The Bends:

-Street Spirit

-My Iron Lung

-Bulletproof... I Wish I Was

-Planet Telex

-Just

that's a terrific list, but I miss subterranean homesick alien, fake plastic trees and sulk

sooo now that CP is copy catying RH and doing the festival in Jersey it got me thinking, do you guys think they RH would come back to states. i could not go to gig last year

I think that they will come back to the states definitely but not for a while. I don't think they'll be coming back this summer, but probably after LP8 is released. As much as I'd love to see them as I said before I think I'd rather new music. I mean I heard pretty much all the new songs because of the 2006 tour, so I'd like to hear some new new songs.

yes I want to wake up one morning, read the newspaper and see that radiohead has just released their new album :P

yeah... when you think about it, that's kind of what In Rainbows was like, just out of the blue. I remember that day I read that message jonny posted on DAS and I needed to do a double take because i couldn't believe it was going to be released 10 days later

yeah I remember that too. I couldn't believer it because I already thought it wasn't going to be realeased before march 08.

I think we all went that crazy.

The best part was that we could practicaly taste the album since it was so close. Made the hype so intense.

yeah it tasted like jam jam jam, jam jam jam.

I remember then that morning waking up earlier than usual because I had an afternoon class. I remember it feeling like christmas in that I went online and checked my email and was able to download the album. I remember also looking on the message boards with there being threads talking about the songs, but i didn't click on them because I wanted to be surprised. I know that I listened to the album and at first I was really disappointed because I had already heard some of the songs, but I remember really liking All I Need, Nude, Reckoner, Faust Arp.

It was just so exciting. I wish I could go back before listening to the album and experience it all again.

I think this is also why I'm so excited about them coming out with a new album eventually because I feel they will not road test new songs, and if they do I feel it'll only be a few (2-3 at most). I think that this album will be really fresh as well. Also I have a feeling that they will not release it conventionally (wait 6 months after announcing release date), yet i don't think they'll do the pay-whatever-you-like.

Like I said before In Rainbows was so exciting and looking back I get nostalgic about it. I can't wait for LP8!

I just watched a video of Thom playing the drums and singing to Bangers and Mash. how awesome can this guy be???!

Me again.

Listened to Amnesiac today.

Was stunned.

It's amazing.

And a random fact: I was solving a physics problem and I was stuck. After Pulk Pull Revolving Doors it somehow became easy and I solved it.

:stunned:

Bye.

I guess you're talking about WASTE Central. That's like a fan based community, like myspace sorta, but not really. You do need to register to go on. Its cool because the band is on there, and I added Jonny and he accepted the friend request. Also they post some short song clips/remixes (just thom and jonny). Also they post some pictures as well.

have some awesome news!

Here's an excerpt from the latest issue of NME:

We ask him what else he can tell us about the upcoming tour that fellow band member Ed O'Brien has previously mentioned. "Well, we're planning on a fairly extensive tour of Europe. At the minute we're looking at several smaller venues in the UK as well as Leeds/Reading. Then we'll be playing at some of the bigger arenas in mainland Europe, one or two in every country."

If you're concerned about the glaring omission of North America, you have reason to be. "After the big tour in central America Thom is getting a bit concerned with going further afield than Europe, at least for the time being. We're hoping we'll have something together for 2010, but it's unlikely we'll be playing any dates in the US or Canada until then."

It's not all bad news though. "We're planning to roadtest some new material. We've got 5 or 6 songs which we think are good to go. We're really interested in streaming at least some of the concerts live, so our fans in North America will be able to hear the new material as soon as we play it."

Unfortunately for people in NA, is looks as though there will be no tour until like 2010, but they are roadtesting new songs!... and also having webcasts!!! This is awesome!
