  • Lol I haven't been here in 5 years but I decided to pop my head back in for some nostalgia. Seems like this was my last post so here's an update... I finally saw Radiohead live in Manchester in 2017 a

That's what I was thinking. Lame for the fans it's not happening, but the best ones are the ones that aren't ridiculous and make you forget it's April Fools Day. And if tey get your hopes up of course.

So what's special about the newspaper? Any news on future releases?

Thom's message on DAS is thoughtful; although sometimes he has an, ummm, interesting way of putting things:

"I hope that the Japanese people we have met over the years are not freaking out"

Any more word on the Record Store Day release? In particular, WHERE, and whether the preliminary figure of 2,000 copies was correct.

nothing that i've heard of yet

I'm hoping that at least some people will be able to get a copy.

^ I have yet to find any information as far as that's concerned.

hmmm I read it somewhere.

Record store day is tooooo much. I have tried ordering in Deerhunter/Panda Bear/etc limited vinyl releases for my record store but nooooo

There are sooooo many good records coming out. At least, from what I read.

those 12"s are too expensive for me, with the shipping and all. Four Tet said on his twitter that there are far more than 300 copies and he hopes to get more out there :surprised:

Someone mentioned this might be The Butcher

Would anyone know if Thom sings in german "geh' nicht, geh' nicht!" which translates into "don't you go, don't you go!" at the very beginning ( 0:15 and again at 0:25) of "everything in it's right place"?

It sounds exactly like that.

I guess it might make sense with the line "lamb to the slaughter", but I like the title I Froze Up better for the song, even though I'm not much of a fan of the song.

nope. It is part of those sampling things that Jonny and Ed use live that makes it sound like that.

When I listen to the record though I hear him say Kid A, Kid A, Kid A over and over

Ah I see, it was unlikely anyway. Still sounds like it soso much.

Should you be very bored, you might wanna listen to it here: http://www.dict.cc/?s=don%27t+go

Just press the volume icon next to the german translation 'geh nicht' on the right upper side. Ed and Jonny accidently produced something sounding german...

Okay I know that I'm hoping against hope here, but I decided to send an e-mail to a couple of local record stores participating in Record Store Day to see if by chance they will happen to have the Butcher/Supercollider vinyl for sale. I figure it couldn't hurt to send an e-mail, the worst they could tell me is what we already anticipate... that it will be in the UK only. The record stores are in Ann Arbor, home of University of Michigan and all-around cultural mecca, plus Flying Lotus performed at a club there last year (/lolrandom), so the two stores I picked have the best chance of any others in the area. Even though that 'best chance' is still as close to 0% as you can get.

I thought this was amusing though... on the website of one of the stores, they list releases and provide a brief description. For TKOL, the description was: *** New! Perhaps you've heard of this hot, young British band. I've heard that one of the members even dabbles in soundtracks and another is a "dee jay!"

Gotta love sarcasm.

edit: Well, I received a response from one of the stores.

"That item is Europe only. No one in the states can sell it. Sorry"

:disappointed:

edit 2: I just had a crazy idea. So there will only be 2000 copies, and it will be sold in the UK only. What if... maybe the reason why it is in the UK only with such a small number is because they are planning a small gig and the vinyl packaging would include a ticket to said small gig. Ugh, I would be so jealous.
