  • Lol I haven't been here in 5 years but I decided to pop my head back in for some nostalgia. Seems like this was my last post so here's an update... I finally saw Radiohead live in Manchester in 2017 a

supercollider... how come such a long song feels so light? nice one, though i've never gotten the hype around it, pretty lame topic to make a song on IMO... but THE BUTCHER, whoa!

Ok, thank you. :nice:

Yaaay I ordered the vinyl and hopefully it should be here soon. The songs are good, I especially like Supercollider (gotta listen to live versions now). The Butcher is still growing on me.

I really like these songs... Supercollider is definitely a lot better. And I really love the whole feel of The Butcher.

I'll definitely try to buy this single when it's available in the US (I think it was June they said)

the new single is now available on TKOL site, when you go to track your order

Thanks to briggins for letting me know.

That's pretty nice of them :nice: Audiophiles might not be happy with the bitrate but whatever.

Just listened to each for the first time. Both are decent, Supercollider more so. Could've shaved a minute off and also could have put it on TKOL haha. Not complaining though. Yeah, fine. Hope The Butcher grows more on me. Seemed a little uneventful. Early days yet.

email just came from the band about the new single...

Thank you - Merci - Gracias - Grazie - Dankeschön - Obrigado - Gui lah hui te ha - Ashoge - Shukran - Tsikomo - M goi - Tak - Dank u - Vinaka - Aabhar - Köszönöm - Go raibh maith agaibh - Arigato - Tashakkur - Dziekuje - Gestena - Hvala - Tack - Tesekkür ederim - Spasibo - Dêkuji - Sas efharisto ...... Right, that's most of you covered, apologies to those we've missed out ... ok, so here are two tracks for your listening pleasure:

Supercollider and The Butcher. We released these as a limited edition 2 track 12inch vinyl to mark Independent Record Store Day last Saturday, April 16 ... so in case you missed out and didn't get a copy here they are.

It's a thank you for being SO supportive of what we do ...

p.s. This is not part of a new loyalty points scheme, a Radiohead clubcard or even an air miles redeemable reward type thing...

It is just a big old-fashioned thank you!

Hope your Spring/Autumn is good.

FYI... 'The Butcher' was recorded and mixed during 'The King of Limbs' sessions, but we couldn't make it work on the album; 'Supercollider' was started during those sessions and finished off in March of this year.

WHUT

Well then that was a relatively short turnaround time to get the vinyls pressed for RSD!

that is very nice of them. but what about all of us who, you know, actually left our houses and went out and bought a physical copy of the album? I think that shows just as much support as paying for a download. Im not saying it shows more... im just saying that buying the album is buying the album. Is there at least any word that these songs will be made available to buy elsewhere for those of us silly enough to still buy music in stores?

How did you go to the store to buy the Supercollider/The Butcher Record Store Day vinyl release? It wasn't even available in the U.S.

That's what is free to download, not The King of Limbs (if that's what you're thinking).

Always has to speak a person who wants more.

How am I wanting more? My question was in regards to if there was a way for people who bought physical editions of the King of Limbs to also recieve the two bonus "thank you" tracks. I paid for the King of Limbs just the same as anyone who downloaded it and would even be willing to PAY for the other two songs. I was asking if they were going to be available anywhere else. Is it so strange (or greedy) for someone who bought the album in the phyiscal format to also want to be able to get these additional tracks? I'm not asking for more I'm only asking for LEGAL accsess to something that already exists. Imagine... someone who likes Radiohead songs wanting (to PAY if need be for) more Radiohead songs!!! The greed! The greed!

Well, to be fair the people that bought the album online from the TKOL store bought the newspaper album (vinyl), not the 'plain vanilla' TKOL vinyl that you bought in the store. The newspaper album was significantly more expensive.
