Favorite Coldplay Era?

Whats your favorite Coldplay Era?

Do you love the trashed Viva la Vida demos, or maybe it was the bands look during the LP5 Touring?

Which tour was better: Live 2003 or the Viva la Vida tour?

Discuses it all here!

It would have to be viva era

The concerts were amazing and idk it was just a really vibrant and colourful era to me :)

Hahaha, same but I like the LP5 ear cause it's more modern and spacey. And the swurlls neon is amazing!

I love the AROBTTH era because of the album, but I dnt remember much of any other part of it. I didn't get to go to one of the concerts, I didn't experience the anticipation before the album. I didn't even know their names, I just called chris "coldplay" or "the guy from coldplay". But what makes that era special to me was how the music made me feel. And I have never felt that exact same way with any other album.

BUT

VIVA era was wonderful to me because of the tour. I got to discover R42's blogs, I got caught up on coldplay info, and my love for them grew deeper :) and by then I of course knew all their names :P the feeling of my first concert was great , an unforgettable experience. A childhood dream come true! And I love how the whole feel of the era was so alive and colorful!

So im stuck between these two eras, and im not sure how to pick which one is my favorite :\

It's too hard at the moment to choose. I am still learning and listening to everything. I love it all. :D

I also really love everything! But it was the Viva era when I fell in love with coldplay. So that's my favourite, and Viva la Vida is still my favourite song!

But I'm extremely excited about the LP5 era, the first time I saw coldplay live! :)

:wreck: Well . . . I don't think there is any concert by any band that can beat the way Coldplay performed on Live 2003, and ARoBttH is my tied-for-first all time favorite album (tied for first with Viva, that is :P).

But the Viva era was the first time I'd ever heard of Coldplay, and before it had ended I was truly infatuated with them. It's sort of a special era for me, I guess, so Viva era it is!

Hahahah it's ok  I'm kinda mad how this thread isn't getting this popular...I'll give it a few weeks :P

LP5 era is kinda still in its infancy so it's useless to vote for it yet. I'm also surprised how X&Y seems to be popular. Anyway, AROBTTH FTW!

Viva. Mainly because I first discovered Coldplay in the Viva-era. :wacky:

Or actually I did in X&Y, But I wasn't a fan back then.

X&Y era for me, started my love of Coldplay and music in general, was watching Speed of Sound on the music channels all the time, using my phone to record Talk off the radio when it got a play on Radio 1 then going down to woolworths to get my copy then loved it from the first play in my sound system.

Loved the spacey feel and the synths, epic songs like What If and Fix You and of course Square One :D Coldplay dominating the world big style then the charts were getting filled by 'Coldplay sounding' bands (much better than this club crap I wish would disappear forever), everything was great.

LP5 era will come close if not the same level as X&Y very pleased with the new songs so far and loving a similar feel to X&Y with a different twist of course and more colourful.

I'd say AROBTTH... Though I wasn't a fan of the band at the time so I can't really tell...

But on terms of the gigs I've seen, like Live 2003 which is fantastic and just because this album is one of my all around favorite, I'd say it's this one.

Viva is now at 42% XD

Now I first heard Coldplay on Nickelodeon, they would play Clock and this was back in 2002-03. Back then...I was 5-6 so I didnt know much about Coldplay, then the Viva Era kicked in and like much of you guys, we all fell in love with them and have followed them ever since! So even though the Viva era was my starting point, I really like the new direction of LP5 so far....

A rush of blood to the head !!!

A Rush of Blood to the Head era.

I started to know Coldplay in 2003 thanks to my parents' AROBTTH CD, which my mum had stuck on repeat and is still my all-time favourite ever of all time ever. I also think their concerts were the absolute best in that era (retrospectively, wish I was there).

During the X&Y era, my enthusiasm got even bigger. But now I realise that it was the era where Chris started to be a bit too Bono-wannabe, running around the stage with no instrument while trying to sing. The latter peaked during Viva. However, Viva was a great album, and Chris was really virtuous with his piano during shows. But I didn't like the fact that the overall big show element (it did blow me away) became more important than the quality of the music. Fortunately music quality and show are now equal in the current tour.

Wish I was there during the Parachutes or even pre-Parachutes era. I can imagine being a student at their university and being a fan when they were still unknown to most of the world.

I will go with X&Y IDK it is just so special to me, I loved how Chris ran through the stage and jump with the songs... He doesn't do that anymore ): and because X&Y is my favourite album.

I really don't know, I like the setlists and live recordings from between Parachutes and A Rush Of Blood To The Heads a lot, though.
