danmets21
UWTB by ThomieThomas, on Flickr So, Up With The Birds is on Mylo Xyloto :D You never know. Look at the booklet of Viva and you'll see the titles Glass of Water, Postcards from Far Away, Poppyfields - none of which actually appeared on Viva, but rather the Prospekt's March - EP. mycoldplaynet
as you know - 42 is the answer to all questions.
ramonbucard
This seems like the most suitable place to put my findings. Well, as you all probably know by now, MX is being released on October 24. 24, of course, is the reverse of 42. Also, a quick countdown will reveal that the single Paradise will be released 42 days before MX. This is either a rather circumstantial coincidence, or the band have done a bit of thought. Nothing in coldplay is circumstantial coincidence.
coldplayfan24
Good to finally have some news. I really want the vinyl, is the pop-up version supposed to be another vinyl as well? would make sense with a 12x12 book...

socoldsocold2433
Is it just me, or have there been a lot of references to UFOs? One of the first promo pictures of the band had it in the background, it's all over their threads and their gear when they tour, and it's on the website in the 'live transmissions' icon. Album or EP track?
bdevil89
Yeah - coldplay's obsession or reference to the number 42 is taken from the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy by Douglas Adams. A classic sci fi novel. one of the themes or subplots of the story is the Ultimate Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, The Universe, and Everything. The answer was 42 which led to so many theories by fans of the book, but in the end Douglas Adams said it was just an arbitrary answer - my guess is that his point was that it's something different for everybody, our purpose, our goals, and our experiences which shape our journey in this so called life. Thus coldplay's fascination with the 42 (Those that are dead, are not dead, there just living in my head - perhaps the question of whether people are ever really dead, or always alive in one's mind and memories. Hence it's inclusion in Viva La Vida and Death and All of his friends. It's a brilliant track, and i hope they develop an arc to that song, perhaps a trilogy of sorts. Lexis
I think it's funny how they broke down the title. OTO is roughly the pronunciation of the Dutch word auto (from automobile), which means car.
