September 13, 201114 yr No they´re not ;) You have to loose your worries about drums that sound disco like or something... because I bet if Paradise would be a slow song like The Scientist but with exactly the same notes and lyrics, but just with "standard drums" and more acoustic feeling, everyone here would say OMG OMG OMG. i wouldn't change my mind over some standard drums and a more acoustic feeling.
September 13, 201114 yr I wonder what current producers would be able to further develop Coldplay's sound... Jacknife Lee, Dave Fridmann, Alan Moulder, Peter Katis, Dave Sardy just to name a few. And Rick Rubin would be a real challenge for them.
September 13, 201114 yr i wouldn't change my mind over some standard drums and a more acoustic feeling. Then you are not a Coldplay fan. End of story. Cause Paradise played in a Parachutes style would be as brilliant as Coldplay from 2000 - 2005. And also the lyrics... why are those lyrics bad? Because he does not make things unnecessary complicated? Because he speaks straight away? Some people just want to find something negative. You could take any producer you want. Do you really think Coldplay releases songs they don´t like? Do you really think he would say "MX is our best album, we don´t know hat to make it any better" if he would feel bad about MX cause its all made and changed by Brian Eno? Don´t be that naiv.
September 13, 201114 yr Then you are not a Coldplay fan. End of story. maybe i'm not a groupie like you. END OF STORY.
September 13, 201114 yr Jacknife Lee, Dave Fridmann, Alan Moulder, Peter Katis, Dave Sardy just to name a few. And Rick Rubin would be a real challenge for them. I'm not really a fan of any of them to be honest. The best suggestion we've had so far is Godrich, but it totally depends on direction. I'd say they'd need to scale down after this, go more atmospheric, and I think Godrich or Dangermouse could do that.
September 13, 201114 yr maybe i'm not a groupie like you. END OF STORY. Both of you, shut up. You're both Coldplay fans with differing opinions, accept that, move on, and stop acting like childish morons.
September 13, 201114 yr Both of you, shut up. You're both Coldplay fans with differing opinions, accept that, move on, and stop acting like childish morons. and who are you to tell me what to do here ?
September 13, 201114 yr and who are you to tell me what to do here ? I'm someone trying to have a discussion about a band I love. Take your petty argument elsewhere.
September 13, 201114 yr I'm someone trying to have a discussion about a band I love. Take your petty argument elsewhere. petty arguments ? you don't want to have a discussion, you just want to read positive comments because you like the new songs, but unfortunately for you there are persons here that think differently.

I'd say they'd need to scale down after this, go more atmospheric, and I think Godrich or Dangermouse could do that. Maybe Dave Sitek or Steve Albini?
September 13, 201114 yr Maybe Dave Sitek or Steve Albini? Perhaps. I think we need to see how MX goes first!
September 13, 201114 yr petty arguments ? you don't want to have a discussion, you just want to read positive comments because you like the new songs, but unfortunately for you there are persons here that think differently. I'm directing this at the both of you, and I can assure you, I couldn't give two shits whether you dislike the new songs or not. I'm simply asking the both of you to grow up a little and stop spamming this thread with mindless rubbish. I won't reply again, and neither should you if you want to be adult about this.
September 13, 201114 yr Eno is just a dead end. Lame ideas with accent on multilayer sound to hide emptiness.
September 13, 201114 yr So you know what to do to feel adult. Funny :) I don´t care if someone likes the new songs or not, mrkjhnwht. The point is that: 1. Nobody here knows what a producer really does in case of Coldplay and Mylo Xyloto 2. Nobody has the right to say that Brian Eno has to leave Coldplay 3. Its pretty unrealistic what people say here. MX is Coldplays masterpiece. They are unbelieveable proud of it. So any note, any tone and all "para´s" speaken in "Paradise" are there, because the band wants it there. When people say they don´t like what Coldplay does, okay. I don´t have a problem with that. I can respect that opinion and discuss about it. But first of all those "haters" should respect that it´s Coldplays work. They did it cause they wanted it.
September 13, 201114 yr A song like this: Coldplay - Wedding Bells - live at Apple keynote (720p HD) Exclusive Track - YouTube Is left out on the album And a song like this: Is kept.. Am I the only one scratching my head on this?... No your not alone.
September 13, 201114 yr I never liked Wedding Bells and much prefer Paradise. I never understood the hype around that song!!!!

September 13, 201114 yr Well you said to me and the other guy that we are both childish, so I thought you would not agree ;) But good to know :D
September 13, 201114 yr You "fans of Coldplay" will hate on every little thing they do. Can you just sit back and enjoy their new stuff. It's not as bad as you try and make it out to be. It seems that all you do is sit around and try to screw over Coldplay, their music, their direction, and their choices.
September 13, 201114 yr I swear to God DLIBYH and UIF better blow my minds. Paradise isn't great but it's solid.
September 13, 201114 yr I'm still trying to get over the fact that 'For You' wasn't included on Parachutes while 'Yellow' was included, Chris has to leave, Will has to leave, Jonny has to leave, Guy has to leave, lets just have a band full of Phil Harvey's and Anchormen.

A room. Nothing else. The only extracurricular activities would be layering (one of the above mentioned instruments) and mastering.
