My epic Mylo Xyloto release night

Featured Replies

First of all... it's great to be back! I stepped away from Coldplaying for a couple of weeks to avoid any spoilers since I knew a leak was inevitable. But now, I can tell my Mylo Xyloto release night story:

The evening of the 23rd, my friend Jonathan (who loves Coldplay just as much as I do) drove over an hour to get up here, and we had planned to go to Wal-Mart (virtually right across the street) at midnight since it would be the only place to buy Mylo Xyloto that would be open when the calendar officially hit the 24th. When we got to the music department, the employees (including the manager) were not very friendly... and after like 20 minutes of talking to them, they wouldn't bother to go look in the back despite the fact that the CDs were obviously going to be there. So, not wanting to go to sleep MX-less, I suggested that we make a last-ditch effort to go to the next-nearest Wal-Mart about 10 minutes away. Nobody was in the music department except for this one stocker... and after being a little reluctant at first, he went in the back to look. Then he came back out... AND HAD A BUTTLOAD OF COPIES OF MYLO XYLOTO. There was certainly happiness all around, and I told that guy he is now a Wal-Mart legend. So we headed home all excited, ready to enjoy this masterpiece... and then got pulled over by a policeman very shortly after leaving Wal-Mart. Great... just great. But it turns out that it wasn't anything too serious... the expiration date on my mom's driver's license had passed (honestly, who remembers to pay attention to that stuff?), and the policeman said that if my mom got it renewed in the next couple of days then there shouldn't be any charges. Still, me and Jonathan were sitting in the car holding our copies of Mylo Xyloto while blue police lights are flashing behind us... and in view of everything that had transpired in the past hour, I said, "It's almost fitting... such a night like this deserves to be this epic." Then we finally went home and enjoyed the 44 minutes we've been waiting for ever since the Viva era ended. What a crazy night... I'll never forget it.

Here's some pictures (and a video) from this memorable night:

haha thats pretty epic :laugh3: I was so mad because my Walmart didn't have it. :(

i bought the rest of the album via itunes on my ipod. It was 6 bucks. I had been saving up some money for MX. I was thinking we wouldn't buy the cd till later in the week. My dad bought it later this night. *facepalm*

I'm jealous. None of my friends like Coldplay, which is super lame. I just want to dance :(

Woah....epic story ;) My story was i went to target, and bought it, and the cashier was a man who strangely resembled santa. haha :P

So you went to wal-mart, they acted like wal-mart employees so you went to another wal-mart and bought the album adn then got pulled over for a minor offense with no real consequences?

I don't think you know what the word 'epic' means.

None of my friends like Coldplay either, but my 4 year old twins and my 1 year old all love it.

Yeah Brent, you just need to have kids and make your own Coldplayers

That was an awesomely epic story that can only come to fruition on the night of a Coldplay release! ;)

When I went to target to buy it, and asked the guy if he had a copy of Mylo Xyloto, he told me that I was in the wrong department for condoms.

*facepalm*

BUT I got the album anyways! :D

Okay. WHO WANTS TO BE IMPREGNATED.

Ive got 3 kids you can have! :laugh3: (J/K) ...seriously, none of my friends here in Ohio like CP,and that SUCKS, but my kids adore them because their mother taught them well. :D

Haha, mine wasn't quite as exciting as that!

WOW guys, that was great! Especially the moment where you are glowing in the dark while Charlie Brown is playing. :D

Cool story ! My story is so lame. It leaked online and I downloaded it. Full stop. :dozey:

Yeah, that is kind of lame... I'd rather be a comma, myself.
