I hear you... totally blown away that they're not coming here. So with the impending hiatus, and with me having only seen them once (2009), there's no way that's stopping me... so I'll be headed to DC in a few weeks. Wish they would've come here though.

The first post just so happens to feature the correct ranking... and DAMN is it tough to rank those top two. Here's my thoughts on each song, starting from the bottom... A L I E N S: It's a cool tune but it's not one I'm going to have on repeat. Doesn't do a whole lot for me. Something Just Like This: It'll be fun at the concert in three weeks... but otherwise, not really my kind of song. Miracles (Someone Special): The initial listen left me feeling meh but once I listened to it on earbuds this song came ALIVE and now I absolutely love it. And yet... as good as it is, it's only #3. That's how marvelous this EP is. Hypnotised: Hard to rank this amazingly gorgeous song at #2, but... All I Can Think About Is You: ...the last half of this song is just too incredibly epic to leave AICTAIY anywhere else but the top spot. Perhaps Will's finest showing. Just breathtaking. This is likely the last thing we'll hear from them for a loooooong time... and what a way to go off into hiatus. Those top three are something else. Great stuff, Coldplay... but when do you EVER disappoint? P.S. Nice little extended intro on the EP mix of Hypnotised... now we know what those previously-unheard sound effects on the app were all about.

Yet ANOTHER surprise this time of year! Roughly 24 hours from now marks three years since the Ghost Stories announcement/first listen of Magic. And it's funny because I had actually completely forgotten about the new EP haha. So this was nice to see before going to bed! Hypnotised is a nice little song... especially if you're really into someone. And I'm crushing hard on a girl right now so these lyrics are getting to me haha.

I agree........... I mean, is this it? Does this mean I'm out of luck and I'll have to go up to DC to see them? I'm trying to believe that when they say "first 2017 North American shows" that means more will be coming.

And now it's official: February 7 is set up to be the greatest night of my life. My favorite team in sports and my favorite band... together, in one night. There's no way we can lose now. What am I, chopped liver? :(

The video is just like the song... not good. Trippy in a bad way. Coldplay... you're not indie. Stop trying to be. You're better than this.

I guess that stuff that just isn't me because Birds does absolutely nothing for me. It feels very boring and plain. I agree the abrupt ending is hilarious... but otherwise, I just can't get into it.

Okay guys what is it. Why is Birds sucking you all in and doing nothing for me... because I'm literally the only one, it seems.

For the life of me, I can't figure out why in the world you all are freaking out over Birds. It's really not that great. Yes, I ranked a 60-second interlude at #6. It's that beautiful. AHFOD is not only an epic way to open an album, it's also an epic way to open a concert. So needless to say, I'm pumped to have that song kick things off when I see them. Up&Up is... oh my goodness. I love Jonny and Noel Gallagher on that song so much. Simply beautiful. AOAL is still tops, though... I love it just as much as I did when it debuted a month ago.

They're not soft rock anymore though... that's what I keep trying to tell the haters. They're full of life and make energetic music that's perfect for something like this.

I've thought about this, and it would be strange since a medley would be quite unlike them. But that's generally what happens in a Super Bowl halftime show, so they may have no choice. I'm thinking Viva is a lock, perhaps Paradise (although I'd kind of prefer they didn't do that for this show), Clocks might be their one classic that they go with. Since surprise guests are usually a thing, Beyonce coming along for Hymn for the Weekend is a massive possibility. They've got to choose this very carefully, because this will obviously be the biggest show they've ever done. I'm so happy that they're finally getting this opportunity... I always hoped they would.

But specifically, a PANTHERS fan. So this has the potential to be a night of perfection...

WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh MAN the hate I'm seeing on Twitter right now. It's brutal. It's like people think we're going to see the Coldplay of the early 2000s, and they're simply not that anymore. I can understand why people wouldn't want to see early 2000s Coldplay do the halftime show, but the way they are now? They're full of life. Energetic. In other words, they are PERFECT for something like this. The haters are going to see how wrong they were when Coldplay absolutely OWNS the halftime show. And oh by the way, check out my avatar. The possibility is now there for February 7 to truly be one of the most epic nights of my life...!!!

Nothing Coldplay does is overrated (although I don't get into Fix You/The Scientist like most do). :cool: Most underrated song is definitely Speed of Sound. Most underrated album is probably X&Y... I don't know why some people seem to hate it so much. I love the whole galactic sound of it.

Atlas, by far. Miracles is a nice little feel-good tune, but the power and emotion of Atlas is off the charts.

Hadn't read this before, but I should've known something was up... I was blown away to hear song after song of theirs while watching the games. It was quite awesome and a very nice surprise!

This had better not be true... I want to be done with this era and get to the LP7 era where everything will be normal again.

Hahaha I wasn't there... I wish! Seeing Taylor and Coldplay back-to-back in front of my own two eyes would have been UNBELIEVABLE.
