  • I've been a Muse fan for a couple of years now. I liked a couple of their hits but then a friend invited me to come with him to a Muse concert with him in 2013. The live experience was amazing and I h

Pssssh, only 5 times? What a novice, casual fan.

j/k of course. A lot of those dumb rumors circulate in the fanbase, and a lot of fans are dumb enough to believe them. Whatever.

Seriously? Even after what the band themselves say? What? Does fandom just bury their heads in the sand?

Actually, yes. A lot of Musers are awesome, but a lot of them are also stupid as dirt.

(as a whole, however, we are smarter than the Coldplayer collective)

^ Actually, I don't agree that there is any difference in general intelligence. It's just that Coldplayers express themselves so that they seem dimmer as they go on 'flame-defensive' and do come across n00bzish.

Maybe so, but I still insist that "Coldplayers" is an obscenely dumb and unoriginal name for a group of fans. ("Musers" rolls off the tongue far easier.) There was a poll a few years ago here and I voted that Coldplay fans call themselves "The Scientists". But "Coldplayers" won by a HUGE margin.

I quite agree.

And Coldplayers get much more nasty when you say something negative about Coldplay, whereas Musers just kind of get annoyed at you.

Maybe coldplayers are more defensive coz coldplay gets so much shit in media

I'm done attacking people for tonight. The word "haters" makes me giggle when it's associated with music. :D I mean fuck this, Showbiz and oatmeal pies all night long.

The irony in that is that they are both as unoriginal just ading 'ers' to the end. It's just that Musers works better because yeah, as you said, it rolls off the tongue. I don't mind Coldplayers... But I think The Scientists would've been cooler, although these days most fans might be like 'that song sucksss cuz it's not poppy like ETIAW'. (Ohhh can we tell that I'm smarting, I'm blatantly smarting)

I quite agree.

Word to this. Coldplayers are like lions in comparison to Musers who are just kitties. Musers are more likely to indignantly puff up and have a short spat before being like 'w/e' whilst the Coldplayers will rip your eyes out and insult your upbringing before they call it quits.

I have no doubt that this is the reason. Coldplayers have never been supported and have been the butt of all jokes. So yeah, I can understand getting a little prickly.

But I do not support the way they get so angry and offensive. They need to find better ways to cope. I used to be like that, don't get me wrong, but that was when I was thirteen. I have since learnt to deal with it in a decent manner and I think a reality check is needed on this board as a whole.

ETIAW = Coldplay's Neutron Star Collision

Paradise = Coldplay's Guiding Light

I'm pretty sure Mylo Xyloto will be way worse than The Resistance, though. At least The Resistance still has some great rockers in the back half.

Michael, don't even say that. I know NSC and GL aren't Muse's best, but they're both still miles better than the Coldplay songs. Especially "Paradise." I hate that song. HATE IT.

OK, I'm done talking Coldplay in this thread. I want to talk about something much happier.

I thought this was a CP free zone! :freak: :dead:

I can't contribute much to this thread but last weekend it was a year already since the Wembley concerts. In celebration of that I played my setlist CD all day on repeat at work. :wacky:

I hadn't listened to them for a while and it felt so good to listen to Muse again.

(I'm in a Fink phase at the moment actually, so totally different :))

Hope you're all fine, big hugs. :botoxlips:

Paradise comes at a price that I am not prepared to pay...$1.29 on iTunes for.

:P

Me neither... so that's why we have to talk about today's disaster here then? :bigcry:

I'm screwed then.

I want a new Muse live DVD. :snobby: That'd be a great distraction. :awesome:

That's why I'm hoping for a Reading/Leeds DVD, especially since BBC didn't stream the Origin set. >.<

Every time I've run into Tom Kirk (which is frequently, he must think I'm stalking him), he mentions how things are being worked on for a DVD, but nobody knows exactly what right now.

Hey, we all know what I think about Paradise. Bitch got featured on NME reference it. Hola.

Anyway, I wore my Muse tees over the weekend as my remembrance of it being a year since Wembley. It was sad, but also epic at the same time to remember it all because yeah... It was epic.

I died laughing at that.

That would be epic, but unfortunately I don't think that if they release a DVD it would be of Reading/Leeds. :bigcry: (just because bands are always trying to promote their newest album/tour and R/L was kind of a shoutout to the past)

I wouldn't be surprised if the DVD is from Stade de France or something.

If you see him tell again you should tell him that he needs to troll Dom more. :wacky:

Wow I forgot how awesome Escape and Eternally Missed are :awesome:

"Escape" :heart:
