March 3, 200719 yr Yes you have and I 100% agree with you. You see, I love four bands that most of the people on the forums think can't be loved by the same person : - Radiohead, whose fans seem to think no music has ever been made before The Bends - Muse, whose most dumbass fans think make "Rock for clever people"... Let me laugh my ass off about that one. - Coldplay, which is rubbish for both Muse and Radiohead fans - Pink Floyd, my favourite, who are known for being "overrated" everywhere nowadays and whose stoopid fans think nothing else is good music. But I love all of them and I think all of those bands have made pure magic and also pure bullshit in their career. And even if some Muse or Radiohead songs are musically a bit deeper than Pussycat Dolls stuff, I don't have the pretentiousness to see me as a "clever" listener. Well, i wrote kind of a novel, but I hope I made myself clear. ariadnasquire, high five ! i totally agree with you... well i like some other bands or music too.. like led zeppelin. snow patrol, jet, the kooks, arctic monkeys, bob marley, the police, maroon 5, mike oldfield, triana, omd, kraftwerk, pink floyd, genesis, santana, ... even classical music like shubert... i think is good to know about different things, at least listen them once and then decide if follow them or not... i mean i'm not a great fan of some of them because i prefer listen them quietly and don't go to a music shop and bought all their albums just for a song or two that i like of a band and then next month stop listening them just because now the new cool band is any other.... btw i don't think that muse is for clever people, i like their music, and well their lyrics aren't the typical ones, but it doesn't mean that they are for clever people or not... i understand them and i don't think i'm a genious lol.
March 3, 200719 yr I don't think you have to be a clever person to be a Muse fan, I just think you have to have certain personality traits, like open-mindedness and such to really get the jist of them.
March 3, 200719 yr I don't think you have to be a clever person to be a Muse fan. Perfectly right. Music has nothing to do with cleverness, and I think you must be an idiot to claim something like "Rock for clever people" on the banner of a fan-forum of any band. It seems like they are ungrown teenagers who found out that there IS a real musical creativity beside commercial mainstreamy bullshit you see on MTV and, proud of their childish discovery, think they instantly became intelligent. Hahaha, enough screaming my heart out against stupid people : I'm a Muse fan, I'm more clever than that. ;)
March 3, 200719 yr lol to the party matt I finally dug Showbiz out of my sock drawer last night and am listening to it right now.
